Ihsahn Working On New Album Planned For Release This Year

Following the release last year of fourth solo album "Eremita" (reviewed here), Ihsahn has announced he is already working on an upcoming new album slated for release this autumn.

Ihsahn is currently in the studio working on drums with Tobias from Leprous (photo available below). Further details on the release will be announced as they are made available. More photos from the studio are available at this location.

In other news, Ihsahn has also been announced as the keyboardist for new supergroup God of Atheists, which was named Metalunderground.com's most anticipated release of the year.

I'm sorry, but he needs to hang this panzy sounding solo crap up, and write a new Emperor record! CURSE YOU ALL MEN!

I'm with you on that, bro. I, myself, am not a big fan of his solo work. Have Trym hop back on the kit where he belongs and stop tattooing. Emperor is one of the greats.

Apparently the two minds above share one computer, although I can't help but agree with him/them for the most part.

Interesting that it's happening so quickly after the last one, but it's hard to tell what the end sound will be like. Cool to see the Leprous guys involved again though, that trifecta of Ihahsn-StarofAsh-Leprous works really well together. "Eremita" was pretty good, although I find myself listening to "After" quite a bit more.

It's good to know one of my favorite Black/Prog Metal musicians is coming out with a new release this year. Emerita was great I hope this next album is as well.

Gotta love the IP Logging feature, lmao.

Seems a little to fast between albums for my liking, it's been barely 9 months since Eremita. And I'm guessing the fact that Tobias is helping him out means they're done recording/mastering the new Leprous. :D

I totally disagree with the two guys who are the same guy . Past is past. Present is present, and nobody knows what the future will be made of. I admire artists and musicians who progress, not the ones who are making the same thing they were doing as teens over and over. I cannot wait for a new Ihsahn album, although I doubt it'll be release as soon as this fall.
