@ spiral: Studies have shown that wondering anything about Wilco can be hazardous to your health. Also, I've never been one to suggest a name change for a band. I figure, it's none of my fvcking business. Gillan, Paice, and Glover are still there. They can call it whatever they want to. And seriously man... Mark II was the DP we all know and love.

I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THIS NEW ALBUM. YES IT'S INTERESTING THAT BOB EZRIN IS PRODUCING (HENCE THE PYCHEDELIC FLOYDIAN INTRODUCTION TO THE CURRENT SOUND CLIP SAMPLE), BUT AT WHAT POINT DOES DEEP PURPLE BECOME SOMETHING OTHER THAN DEEP PURPLE? RITCHIE BLACKMORE HAS BEEN OUT OF THE BAND FOR A LONG TIME AND JON LORD PASSED FAIRLY RECENTLY. THESE WERE TWO CRUCIAL ELEMENTS OF THE ORIGINAL PURPLE SOUND. I WOULD BUY THIS ALBUM FOR IAN GILLAN'S SINGING, BUT IT SHOULD BE KEPT IN MIND THAT EVEN HE WAS NOT AN ORIGINAL MEMBER OF THE BAND.
