I tried to listen to all four songs on Youtube and I just couldn't.
I can see why none of them made it onto DM.
And for fvcks sake, if the song is going to ramble on for over five minutes can you at least make it interesting?
Maybe I'm spoiled by Project Hate and their 15 minute songs that have interesting things through the whole thing.
These four songs are just rock riffs over and over...yawwwwwwn.

I really think metallicas thrash days are over. they should be writing more songs like on Black and load and reload as they dont have the energy or anger they had back in the 80's so why not write songs that suit them better. I know everyone wants them to be #1 thrash band again, but that band is 40+yrs old now and just cannot put out the quality thrash they had done. Focus on music they can do well which is heavy rock. Not metal.

Aus,

I believe you to be wrong. I think Metallica could totally pull of another Thrash album. They'd have to really dig deep, but I believe they could do it.

I know this is a Metallica article but this is still technically a METAL website.
Don’t worry, I’m sure Adam Lambert and his aging soccer moms with flat top, frosted hair do’s (aka, The Sparkle Cows) will welcome you with open arms.
A word of advice when you attend Madam Lambert’s first concert…stay in back lest Adam accidentally drops a box of Hostess products (Twinkies, Ding Dong’s etc…) and the Sparkle Cows trample you in the stampede to retrieve said Hostess product.
As Jesus would say….”Go forth, and troll no more.”
Bye bye....

Im siding with spriral a on this one. It does seem like a strategic marketing ploy done with purpose as a make-up for the Lulu travesty. Sorry, not buying. Good NP Hellrat! Not a bad acoustic/country album from Mr. Lewis.

Metallica could push out another thrash album anytime they want. Just get rid of Lars and bring in a young gun (or Gene Hoglan like everyone else fvckin' does).........
It's not like Kirk, and James can't play fast. They play only the old songs for the most part with only very few newer tracks passed the Black album. It turns them into their own tribute band in a way lol. But yea it's not any of the other player holding a hit thrash album back. I believe it to be Lars. But it'll never happen either way.
It's a real shame, because without the internet I probably wouldn't know what Metallica was really like and I'd still like them.
