Avenged Sevenfold Posts "So Far Away" Music Video

Band Photo: Avenged Sevenfold (?)
Avenged Sevenfold, which recently released a new single online, has posted a music video for "So Far Away." You can check out the clip below, and a press release from the band states:
"This video is a raw and emotional tribute to Avenged Sevenfold's late drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan and celebrates the long-time friendship the band members have shared since forming A7X in Huntington Beach, CA, in 1999. The video was directed by Wayne Isham, who has directed videos for such artists as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, and Def Leppard, among many others. The heartfelt quality of the video is in keeping with the emotional resonance of the song, a very personal goodbye to Sullivan that appears on the band's album Nightmare."

A kid I knew was killed yesterday after crashing hard in the Giro d'Italia....he was a rising star in professional sport and 'died in battle' so to speak
Do you care? I doubt it....anyway, Wouter didn't throw away his life to some fvcking drug addiction like your sh!t hero...he died an honorable death, and I am still in fvcking shock over it...may the road rise to meet you young brother and the wind be as fvcked up as it always is ya know!
now, you lil' fvcking vengers.... DO YOU FVCKING CARE?
A7X fvcking sucks, always fvcking has, always fvcking will

You are a bunch of idiots judging people's pain. Period.
It does not matter HOW you lose someone you love, what leaves you devastated is simply the fact of losing them. So don't talk sh** about drug this, drug that and sh!t you don't even know. No one would judge you for mouring your friend's "honorable death" and you need to shut the fvck up about Jimmy's death. K? Thanks.

I bet if you smashed the revs head with a hammer gallagher style the drugs still in his brain would melt the hammer and anything it splashed on, most likely the people watching, and those people would most likely die from the drug-brain-acid.
I would mourn THOSE peoples deaths...is THAT sensitive enough?

Save it Mary
I had a dear friend whom suffered from severe depression/paranoia...he blew his brains out with a .357 a couple years ago...I'm STILL p!ssed at that fvcker! He wasn't talented, he didn't have a whole lot going for him, but he was LOVED. We, his family and friends ALWAYS did our best to make sure he knew that
Was his decision to give it all up and throw his life away 'honorable'? NO!
But I don't expect anyone to give a fvck one way or the other...and I sure as hell ain't gonna seek to capitalize off his tragic death by making some sh!tty pop song about it and putting it up for sale
So don't come on here spraying about how anyone should respect a pop star LOSER's sorry medicated suicide, or his bereft 'buddies' disgusting choice to cash in on it
YOU are the fvcking idiot to indulge this goddamned bullsh!t

Gunslinger, I agree with you in some regard...but I have to say that regardless the level of ignorance displayed by others they have a valid right to state their opinions too. It's called fredom of speech. Who are you to tell people how to act? ;) Just sayin' bud. Be the change you wish to see...like Gandhi said...but don't just sit there and try and chastise other peoples actions. Worry about yourself.

Hellrat: He died from prescription Drugs that he took for eye surgery.. and even if it were illegal drugs, none of us are perfect we all make mistakes... Don judge a guy just because he made a mistake.. Because we all do
Blindgreed: You are just a little punk trying to get attention.. If anyone here is a poser, its you.. All you can do is bash bands and you cant do any better than them... Do you have millions of fans? No #1 singles? No Huge sponser from THe best guitar brand ever? No,.... These guys got talent and just cuz you like them respect them.. Or I will tell your mom how you hav been a bad kid when Im with her tonight

Toki, that is the lamest argument ever.
Arccording to you we can't bash Beiber or the Jonas Brothers too. They have millions of fans and 1# singles. Hell we can't even bash Hitler. we've never conquered and ruled a bunch of nations.
Btw millions of fans and #1 singles mean sh**. when society is full of brain dead morons who just gobble up what the mainstream vomits up.

im glad post #22 is a social commentator and expert analysist, else we'd all be confused here!
now, a7x is my favourite band, by far. Yes, it was terrible the rev passed away, and yes i do agree he was an incredible talent, BUT GET A GRIP. who on earth told you he died on an OD of eye medicine!?!??!?!
how stupid can you get? oh, fresh off the press: i hear paul gray's morphine was for a cut he had. ...
youre such a knob!
hellrat, there is plenty wrong with your comment. firstly, thats because any music youd make wouldnt be nearly as successful as a7x's. secondly, you couldnt have been the best 'buddy' either, you obviously didnt do enough to make your dear friend feel truly valued.
no, if anyone or anything here is dishonourable, its you. kicking a man when he's down is a sign of cowardice. talking this much mindless bullsh!t over a dead man you didnt know is... beyond words. ill be sure to spit on your corpse while youre burning in the depths of hell.

Last year, on my 13th birthday, I got a guitar and I learned all the AX7 songs and now I can play them better then all you jerks! When the Rev died my friends and I stole my Mom's wine coolers and we went out to the cemetery at night and we all held hands and cried. All our faces were covered in eyeliner. We were sad. Then we all started making out and sucking each other off, but it wasn't gay because we were emotional and sad and that's what the The Rev would have wanted us to do . Then at school some kid said AX7 sucked so I tried to punch him but he ended up kicking my ass. Then I was sad so I went home and cut myself, but not a lot. So all you jerks who don't like AX7 can just go to hell because they are the best and you are all gay. And I know The Rev is up in heaven looking down and crying black eyeliner tears on my head because of all the people who make fun of me and say AX7 suck but they don't because they are the best! I'm so dark and twisted, and sad, and dark, and I live a dark live, in the suburbs. AX7 FOR LIFE!!!

I think this song is pretty awful, as is the majority of AX7 - still it is sad to see all the vile comments on the forums here. Everyone is different - thankfully, or we would have a world of clones. And I know that turns out bad - just ask Luke Skywalker's aunt and uncle about cloned stormtroopers. So anyway, I felt like commenting about some of the comments in all of the AX7 posts ... eyeliner? Really? Oh man, if wearing make-up makes you suck, or worse - gay, then what about Twisted Sister, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, King Diamond ... etc? Is the thick grease paint makeup better for some reason? Maybe it has something to do with the haircuts? Or the clothes? Seriously, how sad. Maybe, just maybe the Rev died because he was broken hearted. Maybe he really wanted to be Dave Lombardo or Gene Holgan, but he sucked. Maybe all the drugs in the world couldn't help him write great music. But he tried. He went out there and gave it his best Justin Bieber effort. So why all the hate?

EsotericSurgery - I guess you got me there, I do have a tendency to do that, but honestly, someone saying they want to piss on someone's grave? You can have your opinions, but at such an emotional time, I think that's cruel.
But yet again, your point remains that this is my opinion, and regardless, people can have theirs as well...
Seems people forget that all too often in the metal scene.

@Toki: Good luck with that. My mom's a pu$$y lickin lesbian.
@ all the fan boi's: I don't give a fvck that the rev is dead. Just like he wouldn't give a fvck if I died. I love how all you A7X fan boi's get your panties in a knot everytime someone points out their dislike for your beloved band. Gates is talented, beyond that I don't see much that inpresses me about them now that rev's been patted in the face with a shovel. Their songwriting is weak at best and they'll never be anything more than another corporate boy band in my eyes so get used to it. I don't go in for this bubblegum panzy sh!t, so wipe off your eyeliner and go cry into your pillow at night because the big bad internet man said something mean about your favorite boy band. I'm here to stay and will continue to hate on this band as long as Ty keeps posting news about them. A7X blows dogs for quarters. XD

Toker, Wouter wasn't in a car crash....but yes, the accident was his fault due to a split seconds worth of inattention....MUCH different than someones pitiful choice to kill them selves off excruciatingly through their pathetic fvcking self absorbed drug addiction
TROO BOI, are you talking? Take that snoozle outta your cvmguzzler before you start with your yapping....then maybe someone who gives a flying fvck will at least be able to understand you
TIM, you know I like ya young brother, but the holier than thou, "yer all stupid" comments are unbecoming of you....you are certainly more capable that that
KAD and Blind, thanks for the chuckles :)

Blindgreed: you would know that personally XD
HR: yes but still, he was a friend to people just as your friend was yours... He was a great drummer Even if he ws in a sucky band... I'm not sticking up for this band... I'm stickin up for him cuz he just as human as we all are

37. writes:
I agree with Blindgreed on #27... The band does suck, but Gates does have talent and potential.. just as The Rev "Did"..... If he wasnt just a great drummer he was a best friend to pretty much everyone.. not a respectable one like Jimmy Jordison (I think thats his name??)

41. writes:
Tookie how old are you? Cobain and this Rev guy in the same sentance? Dont understand your analogy. Jimmy Jordison? And stop with your mother jokes fella,im not even cracking a smile! Dukes story above,i got a kick out of,took alot for him to come clean with such personal information .Its great he has this forum to vent though!

This thread didn't take off as much as I thought it would. The A7X threads usually get some heat and most of them get up near 100. Are people getting tired of them? I myself feed off the hate like the Emperor. Now I'm sad. Not enough kicks from this. But I did score awesome seats to the Soundgarden show. That's a plus today.
