Adam Darski, best known to his fans as "Nergal," the frontman of Polish blackened death metal outfit Behemoth, has been forced to return to the hospital as a result of an infection.
"The patient was taken to hospital again because he did not take care of himself," Dr. Maria Bieniaszewska, assistant professor in the Department of Hematology at Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne (UCK) in Gdansk, told Polish site Fakt.pl.
It is not known whether the infection will affect the adoption of a bone marrow transplant. This procedure took place in late December and it's unclear how long Nergal will now have to stay in hospital. In his condition, when the immune system is weakened, such infections may even threaten life.

Other sources say that Nergal is on a special diet while his immune system, now like that of a baby, develops. In spite of the special diet, he got symptoms of food poisoning and is in hospital. Even eating is difficult at this stage, weak immune system, lack of microbial flora.

Nergal has constant good energy being sent to him from all of us in the metal community. He will defeat this, he is a strong man and will not allow some petty sh** like this defeat him. We all know this and can feel it deep down with i ourselves. He... will.... PREVAIL!

Polish sites that say that have the quote from the doctor have the slant that he was overworking, music career, and then take the planning Doda's birthday (comming up) tabloid slant.
Other polish sites have more details, and inform that there are issues with the immune system after cancer treatments that leave it weak, and that infection can be contracted anywhere, even from food, which appears to be the case. Those sites don't have Nergal on his deathbed, as many others do, but rather say it was bad at first but things are looking ok.
