Soundwave Organizer AJ Maddah Comments On Avenged Sevenfold's Festival Demands

Australia's Soundwave festival organizer AJ Maddah has released a series of statements, through his official Twitter account, discussing Avenged Sevenfold's decision to back out of the festival. The entire statement reads:
"Avenged [Sevenfold] have decided, despite having originally confirmed a mid-afternoon spot, that they are now unwilling to play unless it is night time. At the same time, they are refusing to play at the same time as [Iron] Maiden… In other words, they want 'Maiden to play in the afternoon!
"While Avenged are a massive band, having sold around 8,000 copies of their new album nationally, I won't be able to move Maiden's time slot. I have now reached the point where I can no longer mess around 70 other bands and 180,000 ticket holders to appease this band's nonsense. I have every expectation that they will go back on their agreement and cancel."

i think promoter was saying that the lil' Vengies won't play at the same TIME as MAIDEN (surely different stage) because they seem to suspect well enough that EVERYONE at that goddamned festival will be at the Irons show...

honnestly i love maiden and a7x and them at the same time was crazy for me to decide and i understand y they pulled out even though it was somewhat of a dog act but they has a 1 hour set which started 20 mins after maiden which no one would leave maiden for really since the fanbase is simmilar so perhaps in retrospect they shouldnt have commited to comming at all if they new maiden where headlining

Before organizers and bands commit to a tour, both parties should also agree at the same time that they concur on who goes on when.....I don't like A7X either, but it's not just there fault. ...I think there is a little more to this story

as for post #26; its actually very simple. Just look at the event poster (you can find it through a google search) Avenged CONFIRMED to perform in the 10th from last spot, with 9 bands performing after them. They didnt realize that would put them on stage in the late afternoon, early evening.

I'm so sick of hearing about how album sales make a band talented. Hey guess what A7X fans, Biebers album has sold way more copies than Nightmare, which by your logic means he is more talented. Its like when Weinman from DEP commented on how Disturbed practiced posing during rehearsals and Dan Donegans response was basically "If you sold as much albums as us you'd understand" to be honest usually if a band sells a lot of albums it means they are a boring mainstream copy band that gets worse with each passing release and the majority of their listeners/fans are way behind the curve and arn't aware enough to know bands like A7X suck d*** compared to bands like Between the Buried and Me, Dillinger Escape Plan, Opeth, Every Time I Die, etc...

Each year soundwave try and get a big band thats been around for more then a few albums (last year Faith No More) to headline,
