I want them to make another album. I want them to keep their masks. I want them to be goddamn angry and make something that tops Iowa. I want them to keep going for a while. I may have "grown up," but I'll be damned if I don't enjoy their sound.
What really needs to go is that radio dude. Holy hell. He just... no. Just no.

Dear "The Metal Community": You are a fvcking imposter, so STFU and GTFO of my thread. Metalbynumbers was going easy on them. I would have asked that all of the non-talented members drop dead in a pile of monkey sh!t you fvcking ball bag. Thus leaving Jordison to continue on with John5, Piggy and RZ. Best thing for him really, he hasn't OD'd since he joined and he's rock solid. Please go fvck yourself. Thanks.

Mr greed...
I've given up on this band since volume 3....for me it's Iowa esche or bust, and for me the last 2 lps have been the latter...they were great once upon a time....
Matter of fact I was on YouTube last night and was remembering better times by watching some pledge of allegiance 2001 tour performances...those were the days

I don't think I have ever come to this site and read an article where people aren't arguing/fighting, or tossing insults back and fourth at each other. At any rate, its probably not a bad time to call it quits for Slipknot. They should go on if they REALLY have something better than the self titled, or they plan on dropping half the band members....

Thank you for the support BG.
Post 15, I am a fan of real music. I can prove this by making it a point that I don't listen to untalented drivel, which is synonymous with nu metal garbage pop rock that for some reason just won't die
Slipknot's 15 minutes of fame ended with their horrible excuse for a live album (9.0 Live).
Call me a hater all you want, but it's not my problem just because you refuse to acknowledge bands like slipknot, korn, avenged sevenfold, disturbed, and 5 finger death punch are lacking in the musical originallity and talent department.

17. writes:
You've got your opinions I've got mine, funny thing is I am not a fan of any of those bands bottom line is people have their tastes why do others care if people like certain bands or why do people care if a band keeps going? You aren't being forced to listen to listen to those bands.
18. writes:
16, LOL! Korn has no originality? You definetly dont know music! Even if you dont like them, they started a f***ing genre. Even if you hate that genre, thats called being original and different. Actually every band you named is original. You know jack sh** about music or metal. You are a hater, who gets off talking about nu metal bands. And it pisses you off that these bands get more credit and respect than any garbage you listen too!Get over it you f***ing p***y!
PS- I didnt know you considered 10 years 15 min of fame?

20. writes:
KORNDOGG your absolutely right!!! People only hate on them because they have their own style and are ORIGINAL!!!
This website honestly has nothing but haters who hate on good f***en music. If you don't like it then f*** off! Simple as that!! Its obvious you care about them so much that you make time to write a comment about a band you don't like.
Lastly,
SLIPKNOT is a bad a$$ band!!! Of course every band has their up's and down's when it comes to their albums, but regardless they're f***en real and have their own style. And because of that they will continue and move forward....R.I.P Paul(#2)!!! You'll never be forgotten!
21. writes:
HOLY sh**. oh my god korndogg, i would like to f***ing know what you know about music. you really think this sh** is original???? you think KORN started this genre? you never ever thought that maybe they were lame faith no more and rage against the machine wannabee's that run off the leftover scraps from the combined fanbase of ICP and metallica's black album? do you know what originality is??? do you think writing albums that appeal to the radio friendly crowd is really original????? you ACTUALLY consider this pre packaged corprated radio "im sad because my dad raped me" alternative metal bullsh** is anywhere CLOSE to original??? have you ever listened to a REAL metal band? OPETH is original. MESHUGGAH is original. BATHORY and VENOM were original. DEATH, DEICIDE, and MORBID ANGEL were original. f***, even KILLSWITCH ENGAGE were original. korn pioneered the creation of sh** which the human race has been doing since the birth of the f***ing a$$hole. your dumbass probobly couldnt understand a simple polyrhythms or the 7 modes of a diatonic scale if it was explained it to you as if you were suffering from down syndrome.
YOU dont know anything about music.

22. writes:
^ Amen brother, I couldn'tr agree with you more. I am so sick and tired of reading this posers ranting and raving about what is a original band. I mean c'mon dude "KORNDOGG" are you serious. With a name like that do you expect any one to take you serious? What a loser.
23. writes:
Post 21 sums up my sentiments perfectly. Korndogg(lol?) is a poser. Don't even bring up meshuggah, he simply can't understand the complexity of the music.
The music i listen to is sh**? Really? Unearth? Slayer? Deicide? Entombed? Immortal?
Music requires talent to sound good. You listen to sh**. f*** off. poser

25. writes:
Korn pioneered sh!t...someone needs a Xanax..pronto...
Meshugah and opeth are original bands?....how?..
I know there's a lot of opeth fans here, I see them as alright, but original is bit over zealous...not buying it..
Crahans mask is his alter ego/ meal ticket...not in defense just in explanation..
26. writes:
Are you kidding me RTB? Love ya man but wow that's a silly comment. Opeth and Meshuggah are probably the two most original bands I can think of. There's nothing comparable. Maybe they didn't start the prog movement, but their sound (both bands) is most certainly original.
28. writes:
Original- 1.Preceding all others in time; first
2.Not derived from something else; fresh and unusual
3. Productive of new things or new ideas
From the looks of the definition, Korn fits the catogory of original. Because you dont like them means they are garbage or un-original?? Because your opinion matters so much right? My point was they are original, has nothing to do with radio-play, amount of fans, or whether you like them or not. So your telling me because someone gets played on the radio their are not original? Travlow1 has to bring up my name to take me serious? Pretty mature of you. I dont give two sh**s if a band gets played on the radio, I dont even listen to radio. Opeth original????/ Lol, thanks for that laugh. You think killswitch engage is also original?? Wow, what did they do thats so original, Id love to hear this. That wasnt done before them of course, if your having trouble just read the definition above again to help. Your exactly right that faith no more and rage are included in starting that genre! I would never take that away from them. And your right, Korn did perfect it!
PS Lordassf***- Ionian, dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, locrian. I do understand. Id love to discuss it with you. Think before you call someone a dumbass. Me liking any band has nothing to do with my knowledge of music in general
29. writes:
Its stupid to argue over any band. All I meant is show some respect. That is what is wrong with metal fans, always so angry about anyone who they think is over rated or gets radio play. Who f***ing cares. If a band deserves respect I give it. Whether i listen to them or not. I f***en hate slayer! But Ill give them respect and credit where credit is do! Thats all im sayn

32. writes:
Whaaaaaa!!! Everybody argues here. Grow a fvcking spine you fvcking Nancy boi. For fvck sake people have their own opinions on music and are passionate about it. It makes them feel alive. "Your Dady"? My daddy would kick your arse between your shoulders for crying like a little b!tch. I've known KD long enough to know that you're never gonna change his mind about Korn (and he's leaning towards A7X lately as well).TIM is too young to realize the intricasy and depth of the greatness that is Opeth. Give him time, but you whiney little donkey cranks that pop in and give your 2 cents and make comments like "This website honestly has nothing but haters who hate on good f***en music. If you don't like it then f*** off! Simple as that!! Its obvious you care about them so much that you make time to write a comment about a band you don't like." are just really fvcking duuuuumb. Negative opinions are more important than positive ones, especially when examples are used as they were here. Some little maggot may actually broaden his/her horizons and start listening to real metal by searching the bands mentioned and realize that there's some really good stuff out there. If reading arguments offends you so much, maybe you should be in group therapy somewhere instead of lurking a metal site where people live and die by their favorite bands (KD included - I don't agree with him but the man is passionate and I respect that). Cry me a fvcking river. Tell me how unfair and harsh I am. It only feeds the fire.
36. writes:
BG always tells it like it is! Cant hate on that. Sorry for leaning towards A7X, they just remind me of old GNR sometimes. Kinda dig it. But I know they are not METAL!! I love alot of metal, but I also dabble in other types of music as well. Maybe that makes me a "f***en poser" or maybe that makes me open-minded. Think about it children.

on topic: i'm pretty glad to hear clown excited again tho. he hasn't sounded like that since... well... ever. i would be fvckin' ecstatic for a record to sound like their s/t or at least even like IOWA. i just absolutely love the mismatched, disorganized, aggresively heavy nu metal sound with sid's jungle style djing. can't find anyone else that does that sh**. those were the days RTB =(

You must be super smart as well to post here under the name "YourDaddy". A true sign of pure intelligence.
But, it's true. All of us members here are super smart.
A fact. You have to be smart to pass the test to become a member. To be honest, I failed the "origins of metal" bit on the exam page 634 THREE times, but made it.
Look at us Metal underground members as the elite of metal. We're like the gentlemen's club of Nasa which specialises in metal, and with the exception that Metal Underground doesn't accept nerds and geeks.
If you would like to become a member as well, please email DB a copy of your passport and let's schedule a time for the entry level interview.

I know he is a founding member, but just give it up. He is just one of the disposable members that don't contribute musically at all and just parade around on stage to add to the gimmick. I'm personally tired about hearing from this band. Rip Paul gray and everything, but just give up on slipknot. Just as the rest of the metal community has already.

68. writes:
Get rid of corey, mick thompson, crahan, the guy with the dildo nose, and the dj.
acquire a decent bassist and better vocalist.
Keep Jordison and Jim Root(the only talented members of the band) and the pinhead guy just cuz his samples have the potential to add to the music, even though he really doesn't do anything else then stand there and look awkard live.
Result--> slipknot becomes a better band.
However, the chances of this happening are equivalent to Rick Morannis coming to my dorm room and delivering me a pizza. NO CHANCE

I love how the Slipknot threads always make me die laughing. xDDDDDDD
Also, LordAssenfroth cracked me up and I agree that Opeth and Meshuggah are original. I can't think of any other band that sounds like Meshuggah :3
Blindgreed....... I love you, lol.. xD
About the whole Korn perfecting nu-metal thing... I like Korn buuuuuuuut I dunno about all that. Sure, they have their own sound or whatever and Jon's a beast but they're not perfecters of nu-metal, in my opinion.
As for Slipknot... they just went to sh!t after Iowa. It would be lovely if they're slap us with another album that's as boss as Iowa but I know that'll never happen. Also, their fan base has grown up for the most part, as someone up there ^^^^ said before. Like, seriously, dude? I understand that your mask is part of your whole getup but is it needed? I'm f***in surprised he didn't wear the thing at the little conference thingy after Paul died. I dunno... I remember I used to LOVE Slipknot and I was a little maggot and all that crap... but now... Gawd, it's almost as if they disgust me. I used to respect them but I really don't anymore.. It's just not in me lol.

71. writes:
if slipknot disbanded or went on hiatus after the impossible to top and amazingly made album IOWA then i sure as hell still would have had mad respect for them and might even from time to time wear a band shirt, but since they went ahead and made vol.3 and all hope is gone, i've lost respect for them as musicians.

Why all the hate towards corey taylor? Is it his fault he cant scream like he used too? Im sure he didnt wish to have throat issues. I consider him a very talented writer, while its not completely genius or anything, he still sings great slower songs. I love the new stone sour album. Is it metal....NO! But I dont care, its very good IMO..
84. writes:
Never said they haven't had hits. They've always been radio rock. It's not wise to assume things. I was merely making a point that he's a talentless sellout. I do enjoy his vocals on the slower tracks and I like (but would hardly consider it talented) his vocals on Slipknots first two albums.
86. writes:
Slipknot has skateboards and sneakers with their logo on them. I'm pretty sure that qualifies as selling out. You can't justify a band doing that just because you think their vocalist is the best. Corey might be good, but he isn't great or even better than average.
87. writes:
^^I agree to a certain extent. I dont think corey is the best, no where near the best. To say hes talentless is ignorant tho. That was my point. And now a days, everyone is marketing, whether it be shirts or shoes. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just think that "sellout" is used a little to much on here. If you hate a band they are automatically a sellout, or if radio plays them. Not true
92. writes:
Literature is absolutely NEVER original, and the art of writing a song is literature in one of its purest forms. Every single song you have ever heard can be tracked to a previous song that the writers, whether consciously or not, are influenced by.
Opeth is not original, neither is Meshuggah, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, or whatever other band you mentioned that you are ignorant enough to believe is truly original.
“Popular art is normally decried as vulgar by the cultivated people of its time; then it loses favor with its original audience as a new generation grows up; then it begins to merge into the softer lighting of ''quaint,'' and cultivated people become interested in it, and finally it begins to take on the archaic dignity of the primitive.”

Get f***ed.
95. writes:
Hey, triforce, have you listened to the song? Can you deny in any way that it sounds ridiculously similar?
It's like they decided, "hey, we're properly hard rock now what other bands are good in this genre"
In response to "get f***ed", how about you go choke on a d***

I was enjoying the peen shaped nose conversations... this just ruined my entire day. You guys suck lol. xD I agree... friggin' buzzzzzzzzkiiiiillllll lol Also, Korndogg, Tool is 478937482748738278473814897389274 times better than Slipknot will ever be... but you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong it is.. xDDDDDD And also, if Corey Taylor screamed properly, he might not have throat issues now... just sayin'. e.e
98. writes:
Don't even waste your time trying to explain anything to KD...you won't get through.
xD: you just had to throw the "get f***ed" in there and be an a$$hole didn't you? Obviously you're the ignorant one here. Typical of you to assume that we aren't aware all music is influenced from earlier music. CLEARLY! I mean did you really have to point that out? That's like saying Nazi's hated the Jews. NO FVCK RLY!? No one has put out anything that's arranged in the manner Meshuggah or Opeth have. Just because certain riffs or segments in a 10+ minute track sound recycled doesn't mean the entire arrangement of the track sounds or flows like anything else.

Irish man I wasn't talking to you, you made some good points. I always had a feeling that song reminded me of something in the back of my head.
Surgery, I have nothing against you. I like your taste in music and Esoteric Surgery is one of my favourite songs, by one of my favourite bands. You were not even the only guy I was addressing with the get f***ed, which was supposed to be a joke so chill out lol.
If you want to take it seriously go ahead, to use your own words, "I was merely making a point" that you got f***ed.
101. writes:
^ He was prolly talkin to me, but I like gettn f***ed. What man doesnt? @ Panda- I never said slipknot is better than Tool, and I never will, because they are not. My point was clearly that corey has talent, but when ES had to throw in "radio rock", I just stated Tool is on the radio more than slipknot or stone sour in my neck of the country. And I dont hate Tool for it, so why hate any band on the radio? I dont even listen to radio much, only when there is no other option :( I enjoy other types of music, just because its not metal, doesnt mean its sellout radio rock. ES- I dont see any difference from self titled to come whatever may to audio secrecy?? Have you listened to the whole album? You probably heard their single and assumed, I dont care for the single that sounds like foo fighters (which I agree it does) but there some good jams on it IMO.
Get f***ed Zelda

Wow how come everytime someone dosent like a band they have to put it in front of the firing squad if you dont like it dont listen to it. Weather or not they do it for money or because they love it they fill shows and no sh** talkin is gonna change that. Yes im a big slipknot fan and very proud of it but i have tons of other stuff and hey if i dont like it i dont listen to it so instead of carrying on at each other maybe we should unite and take this world by storm and make metal music what it should be music of gods
105. writes:
Korndogg: Tool and Slipknot and Stone Sour are played a$$tons on the radio in my neck of the woods soooo yeah. Corey Taylor USED TO have talent in my opinion. Now he just kinda sucks when it comes to the whole "nu-metal" genre or whatever you'd like to call it. I mean, he still sings pretty but gah.. I just slightly want to curbstomp that man.. I listen to all kinds of stuff also and I love Slipknot's older stuff.. Now they just make me wanna eat a baby lol.
