The Acacia Strain's new album "Wormwood," which was released last Tuesday July 20th, has charted at #67 on the US Billboard Top 200 chart, with 6,466 units sold, according to Nielsen Soundscan. This is the highest debut, in both chart position and number sold, in the band's five-album, 10-year-plus career. The album is also ranked at #66 on the Top Current Albums Chart and #8 on the Hard Rock Chart.
Front man Vincent Bennett commented; "We couldn't be happier about the reaction 'Wormwood' has been getting. We didn't know how it would go over and so far the feedback has been awesome! We appreciate the support of our fans helping us to get the word out and be a part of this record. Thanks for the support!"
The Acacia Strain is currently on the "Cool Tour" along with As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Between the Buried And Me, Blessthefall, Architects, Cancer Bats and War of Ages.

Yeah, I really hope this hardcore dancing fad ends soon. I like some bands like The Acacia Strain, Winds of Plague, etc, but I can't enjoy them or mosh to them cause all these a$$holes have to show off their retarded karate moves. Moshing is about having fun and safely releasing your energy, not taking other people's heads off

just cant stand these guys...being from mass there are so many bands from this state that are better and far more talented....if they were a beer they would be hatebreed light. all a matter of taste, just my opinion. could say more about people i know personally in this band, however a public forum is not the place....

p***ies, Metal is all about "taking people's heads off." If you don't wanna get hit, get the f*** away from the pit and go stand with your boyfriend. And as for that one motherf***er on whatever previous post talking about how he wants to mosh but doesn't wanna get hurt cause it's all about fun not violence....... are you f***ing kidding me?! Stick your hand down the front of your pants and tell me, DO YOU FEEL NUTS? If somebody hits you while you're in the pit, and you don't like it, whoop the dog sh** out of them. In doing this, you'll discover that violence is kinda f***ing fun! That's what we love about metal, you stupid a$$hole. If all you wanna do is listen, look up youtube videos and stay your b**** a$$ at home because you can't f***ing hang. Sorry fa**ot.

I'm going to have to disagree completely with metalmayhem. Explain what you mean by saying the acacia strain hatebreed light. I f***in love hatebreed, I've seen both bands live and listen to both hatebreed and the acacia strain regularly and unless you just haven't given the acacia strain a fair chance, I'm really lost as to why or how you could compare a good Massachusetts metal band like acacia strain to Hardcore giants from connecticut. I'm not saying you're wrong for disliking the acacia strain, there's just no god damn comparison between the acacia strain and hatebreed musically, vocally or otherwise

to 13: hatebreed is not a "hardcore" band. they have been mixing metal and hardcore since their inception. vocally, no they sound nothing alike. however, verse-chorus-breakdown song structure is where i find them similar. they are just too generic for me. just my opinion tho. there's nothing wrong with liking them. i know their vocalist and he's a complete a**hole also.
to 14: nice assumption but way off. my personal musical taste includes eyehategod, converge, nachtmystium, craft, behemoth, death, nile, suffocation, isis, neurosis, sigur ros, manchester orchestra, etc, etc. and disturbed may be one of the worst bands around. you are obviously one of those "bro-core" dudes that just wants to go to a show to let ppl know how tough you are. i enjoy what in my opinion is quality music. thats my fault i guess.

oh, and 14...metal is not ALL about violence. ive been to plenty of shows where i have been so into what im hearing that i can't help but go in the pit. however, ive also been to shows where i just want to enjoy seeing a band that i like play live because its kind of difficult to get the live experience while at home watching youtube. im not sure why i just wasted 3 minutes of my life justifying myself to you. but there it is.

Idk why but the lead singer was an azzhole at tonights cool tour show..
This was a long night for me,and i had a feeling it might when a 15 yr old kicked me in the balls 2 songs into the show while doing his hardcore mortal kombat type of moves in the pit.....
Sitting through all those bands was painfull, and watching all these kids go karate kid each other was brutal.
4 bands in and there were all ready 6 fights...but it did mellow out from there on in and Aild saved the day and did a dynamite set. That ll be the last time i ever sit through those kinds of bands on any tour again....
