Soilwork Joins The Long List Of Bands Boycotting BP Products

Sweden's melodic metal outfit Soilwork have just issued a statement in regards to their decision to boycott all BP oil products while on tour throughout 2010.
The band commented by saying: "We’re outraged about BP’s obvious profit-over-safety policy leading to this terrible disaster and their extremely poor handling of the oil spill. In joining the boycott and calling all our fans to do the same, we can collectively make a statement strong enough to bring this shameless, careless corporation to its knees, and to avoid such catastrophes in the future."
Other bands and artists who have joined the boycott led by American nu-metallers Korn include Megadeth, Disturbed, Godsmack, Anthrax, Black Label Society and Rob Zombie.

While I do agree with you, it is maybe becoming a trend, I also thik is a good thing to do. Honestly, people are saying it will effect the small family owned shops around North America, but how many times have you seen Megadeth filling up at your local gas station? So that argument made by others is sort of unfounded. Histroy repeats itself, and if that has any amount of truth to it, this trend has the potential to turn into something bigger that can actually help the people who are impacted by this tragedy. I live in Canada, but even up here we are constantly keeping our eyes on the situation and are donating as much as possible to the relief effort. But who knows? Only time will tell, and only when they stop the leaking.

IMO, I'd rather see a few small town BP employees lose their jobs and suffer a little than see 1/3 or more of the planets wildlife die because these c*** suckers won't put a stop to it when everyone knows they're capable of doing so. The government has pay-assist programs to help people that have been laid off...animals only have us to protect them. It's a bandwagon...but a worthwhile bandwagon.

ES, you know i love ya....but man, come on...33% or more??
the immediate death toll to our furred, finned, and feathered friends in the gulf is, and will continue to be a tragic and saddening loss....
but don't go there with the 'projections'....its sensationalist propaganda
the cause is just, yes!!! the fvcking geyser needs to be stemmed, ABSOLUTELY
but don't buy into the misguided message of 'total loss'
though....my deepest sympathies to the people and creatures directly affected by this unforgivable capatalist fvcking atrocity

I doubt they're looking for attention, they could ACTUALLY be p***ed bout the spill like everyone else.
I actually like their approach. at least they're SAYING something, and DOING it. although "avoid such catastrophes in the future" means u gotta get rid of the oil addiction everyone has and maybe hmmmmmm i dont know.... BRING BACK THE f***ING ELECTRICAL CAR!!! seems everyones COMPLETELY f***ing forgotten bout that sh**.
WAKE UP PEOPLE!! TIME TO GET THE f*** OFF OIL AND ONTO SOMETHING THAT'S A LOT MORE RELIABLE!!
