Paul Gray will be missed. I was fortunate to see him on stage here in Sweden, the force he presented was nothing short of being METAL at its best. I made a horror poem-tribute to Paul at youtube, SLIPKNOT is one of the best bands ever. R.I.P Paul...
Respect from the many maggots in Sweden

R.I.P #2 paul gray a legend gone like so many b4 him. I was once told that only the good die young I really do believe this as we have lost so many greats in the metal industry and now paul. Hope your rockin hard dude with cliff, dime and every other great we have lost. SAD TIME`S :(

legend? What the f*** you talking about? Dio, Chuck - there is a legends for you. Who will remmember this guy after two years? Answer : no one.
Slipknot only needed to replace him with another reject in jumpsuit and stupid mask and no one would told a f***ing difference.

21. writes:
That is some pretty f***ing insulting things to say at a time like this dip S**t. All of our heroes and God's are dropping like flies, and thats what you have to say. I think the family and the band are in dire crisis, and need all the support they need. He was a great musician, he was there from the begining, and no he can not be replaced that easily. have some respect for the dead, R.I.P. Paul Grey, you will be missed and remebered.

i think they are not a real metal band
they are Nu metal and more rock than metal
and something like this
i don`t know why they don`t close down?
i think they should be disband they were nine persons in the band now that one of them has missed they should not continue the band

I worked up in Des Moines about a year and half ago.I danced at a place there and my stage name was Heidi.I remebered Squeek and Matt our Dj's and Cory,Matt's bestfriend and the band members coming in from time to time.I was just heart broken to learn of this tragedy. My heart goes out to everyone out there.May you find peace in your hearts and you pass this diffcult stage in your life.It was a pleasure and great memory to have met everyone up there in Iowa for two years while I took a break from dancing here in Kansas City as Viper.R.I.P.Paul Gray.

@Blindgreed 1 - You're just a troll - The reason you're a hater is because you are jelous that these guys make way more many than you could even manage to earn in your whole life time.
Go on, continue to make fun of them and all the other metal bands that you think are sh!t. Bottom line is... they are still better than you could even be!
Come back once you've won a grammy! (by the way I said "GRAMMY" not "GRANNY"). Actually just come back once your balls have dropped.
32. writes:
Meh: Not a troll and not jealous. I just know what I like and what I don't like. Paul was a descent bassist playing in a band of imbociles. Jordison is the only member that has even a shred of talent. Grammy? LMFAO! You're a fvckin joke. Why don't you go practise your rusty trombone on metalgod666.

38. writes:
Yeah I know he doesn't but we already know that. There's no need to go on and on and on and on about it.
FFS, I bet if a new Slipknot or KoRn topic appeared he would be straight on it "oh oh i hate them, they suck! boo hoo, eveyone listen to me I need attention".
He doesn't like them fine!
We don't need to keep being reminded!
FFS a guy just died (Paul Gray) and he's posting comments such as "This is me not caring..."
WTF?, nobody needs to know if he cares or not, he's just an attention seeking troll!
39. writes:
I would also like to point out that the owner of the site doesn't think i'm a troll either, but then it won't change Meh's tiny little mind anyway so whats the point in arguing about it? Regarding Meh's talent comment: Clearly, you've never heard or seen my band, but you're probably right. Hitting a garbage can with a baseball bat = talent to you so again... What's the point in trying to talk sense into someone who's obviously not adequately prepared to think. Lastly, why do you think I have a problem with Korn? The fact that I called you on your bullsh!t in a Korn thread doesn't mean that I don't like them. They're all cool as fvck. I don't care much for Nu metal but on a personal level they're all a great bunch of guys.

40. writes:
Nope, never heard or seen your band which means you can't be that great otherwise I would have heard of you.
Also, you're not adequately prepared to think as you said Joey was the only one who had a shred of talent. What about Corey then? I'm pretty sure he could sing way better than you. Mick and James would also totally kick you a$$ on the guitar so yet again you fail. And as for hitting garbage cans with bats, each one of those guys can play multiple instruments, just because they hit the cans during the live shows doesn't mean that's all they can do.
Again this all boils down to jelousy.
Your band isn't as popular or as famous as Slipknot so you have to hate on them and say that they are talentless. As I said before once you've won a grammy or have made millions then come back and I might start taking you seriously.
41. writes:
Meh, fair enough.
To me the issue is I don't see you - or metalgod666 - actually taking part in any conversations / info exchange(s) over here. You guys just seem to jump on someone who doesn't happen to like the band you do. To me that's total bullsh1t.
Ok, I actually agree with you that BG1's comment ( "this is me not caring...") over Paul Gray's death was something I personally wouldn't state on anybody's death (unless it's Dave Mustaine, of course), but there, once again, this IS an open forum and therefore you can expect pretty much anything. That's Bg1's opinion and it didn't change my views on him at all. He doesn't come over here and start battering people over what bands they like and what not.
There's the difference. If we start battering each other over what bands we like and getting p***ed off about it, probably within 48hours no one here will get along anymore.
So, from my view, more sticking to the topic, and a bit less - nicely said - personal 1one1 hatred, if possible!
43. writes:
"As I said before once you've won a grammy or have made millions then come back and I might start taking you seriously." This is why you'll NEVER be taken seriously. ANY self respecting metal head knows that Grammy's don't mean sh!t. Furthermore, relating talent to money and noteriety is a common mistake made by many who come here and spew thier ignorance across our respectable boards and to that I always reply "If that's the way you truly think then you must be a HUGE Hannah Montanna fan because she could buy and sell Slipknot". Suck it Nancy.

47. writes:
To be fair here BG, he doesn't always blow his voice out. Infact it's probably once per tour and would affect 2-3 shows tops. Most people I've talked to that have seen Corey live say he's great...I saw him and he was gerat...but then you hear Slipknot on last years download festival (and obviously other times/tours)...and you're just like seriously?! Nonetheless, with that level of expertise training him he shouldn't have any problems at all...

52. writes:
ES: I don't know about that. I know a lot of people (world wide) that have seen them and said the same thing. When I saw them at Mayhem he sucked donkey balls all night long so i'm basing my opinion my own experiences and from the mouths of others. Regardless, after studying under Ann Church he should have no issues whatsoever.
Meh: I can make it through an 8 HOUR set without ever blowing out my voice. I did it last December, so I guess i've got that going for me and I never studied under Ann Church. Just sayin... You say i'm talking complete nonsense but you haven't addressed the question. If noteriety and Grammy's = talent, why are you on a metal website douche bag? You should be on a pop or rap website because those generes make a lot more money and have Grammy's by the dozens. There have been very few Grammy's bestowed upon the metal genre and most of them were a complete joke. Case and point: The first time a Grammy was ever awarded for metal Metallica was nominated but Jethro Tull won it. Again... Suck it Nancy.
metalgod666: You must don't talk good. "Get a life and die"... Yeah, that doesn't quite work does it? Nice try but definately failsauce.

53. writes:
Every post that u post = Fail.
So what if you've never blown out your voice have you been touring and recording for over 10 years? (I think not). Plus eveyones voice changes with age and everyone is different. It doesn't mean that the person is a bad singer, I'm sure some of the best musicians on earth have at some point blown out their voice.
So, you state that you've never blown out your voice? Is that because you sing like Boy George?
As for Grammys, I didn't say it = Talent I was just asking you if you've won one or have sold millions of records?
And as of yet you've still not answered that question...
The fact that you even think you're better than Corey is an epic fail. I know you didn't exactly say that but that's what you are trying to say.
54. writes:
Meh: Yes I have. I have toured the US (East and West coasts) and Europe because our label was German. I've been in the music business for over 30 years now and I LOVE where i'm at. I have "lived the dream" and decided for myself about 15 years ago that I'd prefer to be home and enjoy the fruits of my labor rather than be on the road 75% of my time (possibly a choice Paul might have considered?). I have a nice home with a pool which some users on here have visited and can verify that I live very comfortably. I don't have a Grammy and I really don't want one. Grammy's don't mean sh!t to anybody. I don't know how many albums i've sold over the years but i've certainly been on quite a few and we sell out of them at every show. In fact, I don't even have a copy of our latest. The fact is this Meh, I've forgotten more about the music business than you'll ever know. I'm NOT jealous of Sh!tknot OR Korn because i've lived their Gypsy life before and I prefer what I have now. I never said that i've NEVER blown out my voice either because I have and I felt as though i'd let my band mates down, so I learned how to scream correctly so that our live show is just as good (some say better) as what you hear on our studio sound. This is where Corey loses all respect from me. With todays technology ANYBODY can put out a CD and sound like a GOD. It's getting up on stage and sounding as good or better live that seperates the men from the boys. I am living proof that it is possible to get heavier and sound better with age. It just takes a lot of preparation and hard work. Now that i've addressed all of your questions, please go peddle your bullsh!t somewhere else.
55. writes:
Gotta stick my d*** in the mashed potatoes on this one.
Grammy does not equal success. Iron Maiden have sold more albums than Slipknot, yet they have never even been nominated for a Grammy, so there.
Justin Timberlake has sold tons of albums, but I'm definitely not jealous of his music. The a$$ he's pulled down maybe, but not the music.
Indeed anyone can sound good on cd. Britney Spears is the best example of eye candy posing as a music star.
Another annoying thing about meh, is that you throw around "fail" with reckless abandon. That in and of itself, is...........a fail.
NP: Slayer= Spirit in Black

To me, Grammys are on the same level as MTV awards, in other words, I couldn't care less.
If I was in a Grammy nominated band, I don't know if I'd even go to the gala. It might go only for free food and more importantly, free drinks, but I don't think that's even a good reason to go and sit through that torture.
I've never been able to understand Grammys. What's the big deal? Also, if people like Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga are winning not one but 3-5 of those god awful trophies, then they seriously have no important value.
Shall I quote Maynard of Tool? I shall:
"I think the Grammys are nothing more than some gigantic promotional machine for the music industry. They cater to a low intellect and they feed the masses. They don't honor the arts or the artist for what he created. It's the music business celebrating itself. That's basically what it's all about"
58. writes:
BG1, that's on the wikipedia 'Grammys' page under "criticism" ;)
I actually remember him saying that, and I thought RIGHT ON, MAYNARD! Finally someone said it!
Also I think Eddie Vedder's comment - which he said while receiving the bloody trophy - is right on; ""I don't know what this means. I don't think it means anything". LOL!!

61. writes:
You guys are full of nonsense.
Near enough everything you have said is "opinion" and not "fact".
E.G. Corey isn't a good vocalist because he sometimes blows out his voice live. Saying he isn't a good vocalist is an opinion and isn't fact. The same goes for saying he has no talent that is also opinion and not fact. Most people forget that he can also play multiple instruments (that's pretty talented). So what if loads of other people can do that also? It means that each and every one of them have some talent.
I remember seeing an interview a while ago with Ronnie James Dio and he mentioned that he is a fan of Corey's voice and work. A true legend in metal even had respect for Corey, why can't you losers have any respect?
I bet you are the same type of people that think Elvis and Freddie Mercury were bad singers and had no talent :P
The fact that this argument is still going on is totally ridiculous.

63. writes:
Are you for real?
Ronnie sang totally differently to Corey. Since when did you hear Ronnie singing songs which involved him shouting like Corey? They both have totally different singing styles, you can't compare them.
That's like comparing Dani Filth to Michael Jackson :P
Loads of vocalists have blown out / cracked while singing it doesn't mean they are bad.

65. writes:
Grammys don't mean anything(my opinion, not fact). Crappy artists have won that garbage. Slipknot isn't all that great in my opinion. This doesn't make it a fact, which is why I can't agree with the others like BG and Wolf. I think Faith No More and Dio are great bands because they are my favorites. But again, this doesn't make it "fact".
It's all personal preferences.

69. writes:
In Sorte: Corey doesn't scream as he was taught to by Ann Church (the best in the biz BTW). He screams incorrectly, and thus sucks balls live frequently. That IS a fact. NOT opinion. Deal with it any way you see fit. Playing multiple instruments doesn't necessarily equate to talent either if you don't play any of them well. Respect is earned, not given.
Killer: I don't remember ever playing any of the Carolinas or Florida for that matter. Upper East coast filled our schedule fairly well as there are many many places to play there. I remember doing the Midwest on one tour and I guarantee I'll never pass through Nebraska again. lol.

71. writes:
What are all you guys talking about? Slipknot broke so many barriers. To this day they can't be touched. Blindgreed, you have points but when someone is screaming from the top of the lungs, coach or no coach, the voice will tend to loose it's strength. I remember slipknot doing 2 shows in one day. How many can and will do that? Plus, Corey is a smoker and doesn't care about being quiet 2 hours before a show to save the voice. He's screaming in interviews and being himself. Comparing to Dio? What is going on here! To say Slipknot are talentless? Seems like some need to listen to more Nirvana then metal. Metalheads support. Not trash. I cannot stand as As I Lay Dying for example but if they lost a member than I would have all the sympathy for his band and family. Metal almost died years back with the trashy rap and 'Poison' bands hitting the mainstream. You don't have to like slipknot, slayer, pantera, but give the respect. If you can't, go to the Justin Timberlake website and write there. This is a metal website.
72. writes:
BG1, it would appear that according to Melissa Cross's website that Corey Taylor is instructed by her and not Anne Church...at least not currently. After watching Melissa's DVD's I'm suspect to believe that most of these guys who are well trained blow their voices out by talking loudly over set music and shouting while drunk and partying is more likely the cause of these vocalists having terrible shows from time to time. Phil Labonte openly admits that he blows out his voice constantly from partying and getting too drunk...which explains a lot because I've seen him 4 times and he's been blown out every time.

LOL @ Blindgreed1
If you're such a super megastar amazing singer who's voice never blows out. Then why the hell are you arguing on metal forums?
Don't you have anything better to do?
Maybe you should just go away and listen to your Boy George collection.
P.S. Keep your posts coming and keep wasting your time and effort.
I laugh at your stupidity...

76. writes:
AP1: It's like a car wreck aint it? You just can't look away. lol.
ES: He worked with Ann initially when he first started having problems with his live performances. Melissa's good too though and it begs the question... Why can't you prioritize?
Meh: You laugh at my stupidity? EVERYONE laughs at you so I guess it's only fair. Don't you have a "Tiger Beat" magazine to read or something? *Cranks the Culture Club and starts a mosh pit*
metalgod666: You're not worthy of your Avi. And again I ask... What the fvck is a fagit? You speaking French ya little queeah?

83. writes:
What they should do, I believe RTB posted this on another Slipknot thread, is just have Chris Fehn hop on the bass...I hear he can play bass well enough. They don't need 2 people on percussion...half of the songs don't even have percussion and they just entertain the crowd and beat the f*** out of empty kegs with baseball bats anyways...

88. writes:
Meh: I've been calling them that for 13 years... Does that count? Grow up? Doubtful. I'm probably old enough to be your daddy. If it wasn't for that pit bull that beat me over the fence I just might have been.
Demise: We'll see.
DB: I saw that one comming a ways off, but his adolescent attempts were actually boring me to be honest.
90. writes:
n0thing: My theory lies in the column of thought that Paul was a founding member and a pretty big force in the band. It's going to be hard for them to move forward without him and lets face it, other members stated during the last tour that it would be their last (a$$clown Crahan for one). As you said, time will tell though.
95. writes:
You can hate The Knot if'n you want too, but I just can't buy the "they'll do it for the money" line of reasoning. For a band with that many members to make it this long is a testament to the dedication they each have for the thing they have created. Most bands w/4 or 5 people often cannot boast that kind of life-span, for fu(ks sake, no matter how much money hangs in the balance. And I personally love the idea of Fehn stepping in to fill the bass player roll. It's a valid point that the inclusion of additional percussionist onstage is, in part, for entertainment value.....by the way, WTF is wrong with that? If you want a boring show, go watch fu(king Hanson or something......but it would be an honor to Paul's memory to keep the monster that is Slipknot alive and well. Hate 'em all you want, but you cannot deny the mark the Knot have left upon the face of Metal.

96. writes:
@Blindgreed1 - If I don't bother you then why do you keep replying to my posts?
P.S. - Don't bother replying anymore then if I don't bother you.
Anyway, I hope they do continue but I think it will be hard for them knowing that he isn't there. Think it will take them time to get over it first before they jump into a decsion.
One other theory though it that I heard that Paul's brother can play bass. Would be a good tribute to him if his brother took over the role of bass player. Don't quote me on this though, was just a rumor i heard.
