Update Issued On Upcoming Phil Anselmo Autobiography

MetalSucks contributor Corey Mitchell recently announced he'd be helping Pantera/Down front man Philip Anselmo write his autobiography. Mitchell revealed some details about the writing process in a recent review of a Warbeast show in Dallas, at which Anslemo made a guest appearance. An excerpt follows:

"Anselmo has also given me carte blanche to talk to anyone from his past to either fill in the blanks on some stories he may have forgotten, confirm what he remembers, and also to shoot down any stories he may not have a complete grasp on. He also told his buddies from the early days of Pantera to be brutally honest with me, because he wants nothing but the truth to go out to the readers – the good, the bad, and the downright fuckin’ ugly."

Kudos to Phil for picking up Corey Mitchell to help him with the book. Mitchell is easily the best true crime author working today and is a life-long Texas metal head! At the end of each of his true crime books he lists the music he listened to while writing and the vast majority is metal. And not some wimpy a$$ sh**, but everything from Cannibal Corpse to Ministry to Nachtmystium to Celtic Frost, etc. Plus, he's easily the best writer at MetalSucks. Phil made a smart move here.

I suppose Josh that the gunman was also shooting anyone in his way.
Vinnie was pretty much tackled by a crew memeber and forced to to be taken around the back.
At that point, Dime was already gone man and was pulled into the crowd BY the fans to try and revive him.
Vinnie is a legend as well as his Brother.

I hope Vinnie and Phil works things out.

Saying what you'd do in a situation like that and actually being in the situation are two incredibly different things. I'd like to think I'd try and stop the gunman, but I think the more likely scenario would be that I'd be too scared to do anything and just freeze on the spot. It's a ridiculous thing to say that you wish someone had died just because they didn't try to play hero.

Last good auto I read was Lemmy's "White Line Fever"....I'll pick this up soon as it hits the shelves. I know Full Metal Phil has his share of haters, but the man has been there and done ALL of that, so it should be a good read.
