Low Twelve Readies New Album, "Splatter Pattern," Gives Track Commentary

Illinois’ LOW TWELVE are readying their new album, "Splatter Pattern" for a May 11 release. The recording of Splatter Pattern began in April 2009 with basic tracks. The release contains new songs plus a rerecording of their classic "Lines Drawn." The band will release "Splatter Pattern" on May 11, 2010 on their own label, DBC Records. In October 2009 Low Twelve filmed a video for the Splatter Pattern cut “Bodies In My Pocket.” one. This will be the first of several videos the band plans to shoot in support of the new CD.

Pete Altieri has given a rundown of "Splatter Pattern" track-by-track:

STAINS OF OUR PAST - intro

SPLATTER PATTERN - This is the title track and it really spells out how terrible events from history repeat themselves over and over.

BODIES IN MY POCKET - Marine comes home from Iraq and has issues with having to kill. Pro-military, but not ideological.

A HERO'S LAST STAND - Based on true story of a 9/11 hero who saved 2,700 people at the WTC - Rick Rescorla. His memorial site is run by his widow and we've already sent it to her; she was instrumental in gathering information I used to write the song.

HAND OF THE DYING - Based on true story of Marine Jason Dunham who died jumping on a grenade to save his fellow Marines in Iraq. I have been in touch with the author who wrote a book where he was mentioned.

BIND TORTURE KILL - basic good serial killer shit.

SCOURGE - About the fall of Communism.

A WITNESS TO CARNAGE - Intro to Mountains of the Dead

MOUNTAINS OF THE DEAD - About the Rape of Nanking in China 1937. Exodus has a song on their new CD called Nanking, go fucking figure!

NOT FORGOTTEN - About veterans of all wars, a tribute to their sacrifice.

DEFIANCE TO THE END – Tribute to the jumpers on 9/11 at the WTC.

FIRE FOR EFFECT (instrumental)

DYING ROOM - About actual dying rooms in China where they put baby girls to control population.

LINES DRAWN - About Pol Pot in post Vietnam War Cambodia.
