Dragonforce Cancels All Shows In 2010 To Write New Album

British based power metal outfit Dragonforce has announced that they will be cancelling all of the shows they had planned for next year in favour of writing a new studio album. A message from the band reads as follows:

"It is with great regret that DragonForce have to announce the cancellation of the two shows in Tokyo that were scheduled for the beginning of March 2010.

"The reason for this is that at the end of the 2009 UK part of the Ultra Beatdown World Tour, the band will start writing a new studio album scheduled for release in 2011. They will need to focus totally on this, and unfortunately this means all live shows for 2010 have been cancelled."

Blatant over the top flash as a joke was old back in the 80's.

Their impressive tecnical chops should be put toward something less tongue and cheek. And the vocals are the stuff of nightmares.

this band rules what the hell is your problem?!?!? they work their asses off trying to raise the bar musically and technically and you guys sh** all in their fruitty loops. ive seen them twice and dont understand what the big deal is everything was spot on with minor mistakes.and since they got in-ear moniters it sounds to perfect..ill never understand the majority on this. you dont play or do enough and the world sh**s on you and if you do play your a$$ off same story you wouldnt give maiden or preist this crap why do it to someone who is really trying to raise the bar and not to someone who is just a clone of past bands?? sonic firestorm is one of the best power metal albums ever imo...save the bashings for bullsh** musicans that really deserve it

Their style is their problem, not their ability. I wish most bands had Dragonforce's talent and drive. I'm sure they have a very good work ethic, given that their obsessive dedication to speedy complexity...What turns people off is the "over the top on purpose" gimmick and at least in my case--the vocals and lyrics. Just not my thing--I wish them well but they just don't do it for me.

I think there is some major bullsh** that goes on in regard to DragonForce, simply because of their popularity. I'm sure I could name 20 popular power metal bands that don't get any of the flak displayed here, yet who's albums would sound dangerously akin to something like DragonForce's "Valley of the Damned".

sh**, I'd at least rather listen to this band play metal rather than another scummy deathcore act whining that they poked themselves in the eye while applying mascara.
