Evile Bassist Michael Alexander Passes Away While On Tour

Sadly, just a few days into their European tour with Amon Amarth, Evile bassist Mike Alexander was suddenly taken ill and rushed to hospital, but tragically passed away in Lulea, Sweden on October 5th from a suspected blood clot. Mike was just 32 years old.
Evile members Matt Drake, Ol Drake and Ben Carter have released the following statement:
"This is so hard to find the words to express fully how we feel. We can't believe or accept what's happened. One minute we're talking to our buddy, Mike, the next minute we can never speak to him again.
"There's so many things rushing through our heads that we want to say, do and feel. We half expect him to come round the corner and call us 'dickheads'. We can't get our heads around it.
"It upsets us so much that he was away from his family when this happened, although knowing Mike, we're at least glad he was on tour doing what he loves.
"We're lost for words. We all miss him so much already. He was such a headstrong, genuinely nice guy who loved music and his family. We've got so many brilliant memories with him.
"Our hearts go out to his daughter, family and friends at this tragic, difficult time.
"Mike is much loved and is sorely missed. Rest in peace, brother."

No way man...*takes a deep sigh* Today will be a very sad day for everyone who loved and supported Mike and Evile. He was always the quiet yet mayhemic guy in the band. He was always the joker on the road and in the studio. He was the one who could light up a dark room with his bright spirit. Now he has passed away doing what he loved to do, playing rock & roll on the bass for his fans...He will truly be missed and never forgotten. My deep condolences go out to his family & friends.
R.I.P. Mike Alexander

So "sorry" to hear such sad news of such a "young" musician passing away so soon: I've heard of the band EVILE but havn't really heard what they sound like sample of music, etc.,. I'm sure their a thriller-throw down Metal band. Their awfully young...'their Bassist/Michael Alexander only 32 yrs old/handsome young-person untimely death is a shock-wave to his bandmates. Much sincere condolences to his brothers in arms & his daughter/Family The ALEXANDER's at this time of deep sorrow.

Jeez...
One of the great hopes of UK thrash revival. As an old codger of 40 years old, these lads really made me feel like I was back in 1987 again!
Always too tragic when someone leaves without having a chance to say goodbye, but you have to remember all the good stuff they left behind and I'll certainly raise a glass for you at the next gig!
Cheers and RIP.

Death, we all know it's coming, and still we're all taken by surprise.
but this..? 32 years old?! and even while beginning to live his life for the fullest! enjoying touring, succes with the band, having a wife AND a kid. An he won´t even see his daughter grow up. And what´s worse, his daughter won´t be able to see him and experience having a dad.
My thoughts go out to his family, Friends, and the band man.
tear it up, wherever you are. We´ll be down here missin´ ya man!
I bid to everybody, have a drink on him, celebrate his life. In shock and dying a bit myself.
Rest in f***in´ peace man.
Mike Alexander 1977-2009 <-- screw that. 1977-forever

I just don't know what to say, a great bassist and person died, no words can express what I'm feeling at the moment... I was lucky enough to see him with Evile live last year: when I saw him playing and headbanging I was like "man, that's a hell of a bassist" and now this. unbelievable. R.I.P. Mike, now that you "entered the grave".
