American Head Charge Calls It Quits; Seeking Vocalist For New Band

American Head Charge is hanging up their hat and disbanding. Citing singer Cameron Heacock’s “inability to continue on a musical career path,” the Minneapolis based hard-rock/industrial band is changing their name and beginning the audition process for a new vocalist.

“This is not the kind of news I enjoy being the bearer of, but we’ve been ready and waiting for input from Cameron for almost two years; we’ve written and recorded two albums worth of material in that time.” says co-founder and bassist Chad Hanks. “At this point, he no longer gives being in this band any sort of top priority, which is so sad seeing as how he has such an amazing and unique voice; I couldn’t wait to hear it on these songs.

“However, we’re looking forward to some new blood; a young, hungry soul that doesn’t sound like anyone else and is ready to work his ass off. We’re more than eager to get back to the mines. This is what we do.”

this has been coming for awhile. the whole group started to fall apart after Bryan Ottoson died. Heacock's a major drug/alcohol addict who cant control himself, the bands better off changing the name and gettin a new vocalist. best of luck to 'em!

That really sucks! I liked this band so much. I have almost all of their albums. I never got to see them LIVE, so I guess I will have to pick up that DVD now. Too bad, they were great.

But it will be the same band just with a different singer. I respect them for going with a name change, but I don't think this really warrants one. AIC kept their name and Layne has a signature voice. Decapitated is moving on without either of it's singers or Vitek. Jerry and Vogg are major parts of those bands' sounds too. Sepultura on the other hand needed (needs) a name change. But whatever. Hope they find a good one that will work harder than the last.
