Zukros, while I agree, it's also pretty impossible to say what Anthrax really is these days. They've got a new singer again / a new line-up etc. we dont even know what the band sounds like now.
I'd love to see Anthrax as the main act (my 1st big gig ever was Anthrax supporting Iron Maiden in 1990), Black Dahlia Murder 2nd and SlipKnob as 3rd but times they do change...

Have you guys seen the "new" Anthrax? I have, and to be honest I am surprised that Black Dahlia is not direct support with Anthrax opening. Last summer I saw Maiden at Irvine Meadows and they threw in nu-'thrax as an unannounced special guest and I have to say that I was not impressed. Hands down worst line up yet; had me wishing for Turbin!

Aug 22 with mudvayne in one of my home towns, i gotta say this a must for me....i know slipknot and mudvayne arent the bands they were say 6 years ago, but one of my favorite shows of all time was pledge of alligence tour 01 and these 2 bands were on that tour.....in the house for this one

Blindgreed- I discovered some great new brews... *tries desperately to remember all the quality beers I tried for the first time yesterday*....I'll get back to you on that!
John Potsmoker- My bad SSkullfukmaggots is the polesmoker. I did not intend to insult a fellow toker. *offers toke off peace pipe*

Bruno: \m/\m/ I'd be interested to know if you can remember. I've had the pleasure of trying many different brews since I started brewing, and to date the only thing that even comes close to the Blast Tyrant is Arrogant Bastard; but even AB pales in comparison to the BT.

i would be really excited about this if i were a little hot topic kid who thrives off of the commercial bullsh** of said bands... i take no responsibility for the suicide of any teen who reads this and is offended... wait, yes i do.
Blindgreed1: you brew? now i see why you were so interested in Maynards wines. have you had a chance to see visit the pussifer store in Jerome? oh, and the plans for the store in cornville have been set back like two years.

MHD101: Save your money brother. I saw them last year and they've definately lost their edge, although I can't confirm they ever had it because that was the first (and last) time i've ever seen them live. They were absolutely awful. Nobody could keep up with Joey, Cory had already blown out his voice (on the 3rd stop of the tour), and the a$$ clown Crahan flopped around the stage like an idiot out of time. The rest were just there physically. A completely unimpressive performance. In fact it was downright dissappointing. The only good thing that came from it is that we left early and didn't have to deal with the traffic exiting the concert.
Cyanotic: I've heard about Cornville delay which is dissappointing, but it's also understable since Maynard and company are going to be on tour. Actually my interest in Maynard's wines stems from this grape he's having DNA tested. I find it interesting that there is even a grape out there in this day and age that's never been used and actually tastes great. Besides that I am an insatiable Tool fan. I'm not so much into the Pussifer material, or even Perfect Circle (after their first album) for that matter.

mhd101 -- I saw Slipknot live twice after the "Iowa" album came out (once with Fear Factory and Chimaira, once with Slayer) and they were great both times. But I can't speak for what they sound like live since "Vol. 3" came out... Sounds like it's a whole different story though.
Now playing: Saxon - "Dallas 1 p.m."

Bruno - Not bad dude, I'm working on recording some sh1t, you?
"Would like to see slipknot, but f*** Anthrax! How f***ing old are they? Need to give it a rest." - What struck me in that sentance was "Need to give it a rest" which is strange because whenever I ever hear that phrase, I always think of Sh1tSlot and the rest of the "Nu Metal" crew.
Have you even heard of an Anthrax song to judge them, other than "They're old", and in that case I'm guessing you're not a Slayer, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Maiden fan due to their age.
30. writes:
Another interesting point would be that many of Sh1tSlot's members were born in the 70's and 60's which, suprisingly enough was the same decades the members from Anthrax were born. So not only are they the same age, but Anthrax itself has been along older and has tonns more talent.

You're judging a band based on how old they are? That's sad man.
I saw Slipknot at Download 2005 and they impressed me alot. They weren't as good as some of the other bands that day like Slayer, Motorhead or System Of A Down, but they were good fun. They're headlining the saturay at Graspop so I'll let you know what they're like now.
33. writes:
i don see wat the big f***ing deal with anthraz is. they are really overrated. every vocalist theyve ever had has been irritatingly bad. slipknot can really put on a show let me tell you what. of course they deserve to headline they have ten times the talent anthrax ever did.
37. writes:
I didn't know that every vocalist Anthrax ever had sucked. Nor did I realize that Slipknot were more talented musicians. I'm really glad I checked out this thread. Otherwise I wouldn't have learned these things. I totally fell for it, too - to think I ever enjoyed both Belladonna and Bush.
38. writes:
... there is something i have to admit.... i do occasionally enjoy "caught in a mosh". we all have our faults.
Blindgreed1: good call on that dudes cred.! "Pure True Thrash" f*** my life!
im not a pussifer fan either, but have you heard "country boner"? its hilarious! i think tool has got to be one of my favorite bands!
40. writes:
i LOVE slipknot, but vol. 3 was, in deed, an epic fail, even tho i do like "pulse of the maggots", but, tbh, they're just the poster boys of "metal" while LOG's the poster boys of "death metal" =\ which i hate to say it.
NP: heaven shall burn - "dying in silence" (deaf to our prayers)
43. writes:
LOG's the poster boys of death metal, according to THOSE who don't know any better, NOT me, BUT they R poster boys =\ but i still do luv them tho... and terminator, i apologize for my ignorance but CC, that i know of is coal chamber, so0, what CC r u talking about?
np: meshuggah - "bleed" (obZen)
45. writes:
What!?!Lamb of God poster boys for death metal? BWAHAHAHA! I want whatever you guys are smoking! I am pretty out of touch with what the kids label LOG, but last I heard the media was calling them "The New Wave of American Heavy Metal" or "Pantera for the 21st Century" but I never pay attention to that sh**.
46. writes:
I know more than you - The big deal with "anthraz" is that it's a hell of a lot better than Slipknot. You tell me that they're too over-rated when you speak in defence for Sh1tSlot? Also, I had to double check, on your profile you have "true pure thrash" AND My Chemical Romance? Well holy sh1t, Slayer better watch out for over-used guyliner and nut-crunching skinny jeans, they might be out-thrashed.

As for Anthrax, I used to be a huge fan around "Among The Living" and "Persistence Of Time" (didnt like State of Euphoria) and Bush did a good job on "Sound of White Noise" But.... when there's only Ian and Benante left... no matter how talented they are, well my point is, would Kerry King and Dave Lombardo pass as Slayer?
As for Slipknot, I'm by no means a fan, I do admit that I LOVE "Iowa" while ignore the rest of their stuff, but they are metal and they are heavy, plus seeing how many hateful postings there are every time Slipknot makes the headlines here means they must be doing something right!
Definitely not a middle of the road band then.
50. writes:
CTW Who did you prefer jhon or joey?
As for Log I like them But poster boys for death metal? Not at all. As for CC being the poster boys for death I can agree to that. Almost every one I Know started of with CC as there first DM band. I know I did. Just by they way the cover looked.

as for INMTY we all know his list sucks. He needs to take a f***ing break get a few drinks maby smoke some reefer. And then find some good thrash. trivium sucks.

Not only is joey talented, mick is an azz kicker as well....you can question the rest...like to see those two be apart of better bands and or projects soon....for some reason this band gives hot and cold performances in the states however when they do a world tour they seem to feed off a bigger, more frenzied and less jaded crowd.....

The first death metal like band I heard was Behemoth's Conquer All. In relation to this thread, listen to "Be All End All" by Anthrax and you'll hear an exactly identical intro riff (though with a bit of palm muting on Behemoth's end). After that it would have to be Arch Enemy. The first black metal song I heard was "Freezing Moon" and it fvcking owned.
Deathfreak - I'm not too sure. To be honest, I've only heard a few albums by Anthrax (enough to tell that they're a fvck load better than Sh1tSlot's cancer) but the album 91' album I listened to was done by Joey.
\m/ Burzum - War \m/
(Also like to point out, I do know Behemoth is "Blackened Death Metal" and Arch Enemy is "Melodic Death Metal" though they pretty much opened me up to Deicide and sh1t)
71. writes:
yeah CTW, I noticed the same thing (anthrax/behemoth) just a few weeks ago, and it creeps me out just a little. Was it accident or design? The remainder of the song is 1000 percent different, but the intro is too close for comfort.
as for anthrax singers, I like em both equally, but for completely different reasons. They were too different as singers to say one is better than another. Listen to "Metal thrashing Mad" and listen to "What doesnt Die". Both great songs, but can you tell me which one is "better"?
73. writes:
^hmm, ya learn somethin new everyday. I had thought that album was just belladonna being a bit more rediculous than normal. Go figure. I didnt know they had another guy at any point, at least until the new singer they just now got, whom I have yet to hear anyhting more than sh**ty youtube live recordings, so I cant really judge. Bruno says he sucks though lol

I'm sitting here, tucking into a pepporoni pizza, reading some Metal \m/ news and watching a south park episode featuring Slayer's Raining Blood. This sh1t's kickass I know. However, I keep hearing about Michael Jacksons death from the next room which sort of kills the mood. Though, could I really care? I understand he's someone to be musically acknowledged, but he's ruining my pizza, metal, Slayer time.
Do I really have to hear his death report another 30,000 times?

FAN/Blindgreed- Thanks guys you are making me blush, haha. To be fair, I did not like the new Anthrax when I saw them but I will say that at this point I am so fed up with the way Ian and Charlie have conducted themselves with the hiring/firing of Bush and Belladonna that it would have taken a blistering set to win me over. Instead it was extremely lackluster and boring! It was really hard to say whether Lauren Harris or Anthrax was the better opener that day. At least with Lauren I was pulling a Chapelle, "C'mon tittie, c'mon tittie" in my head.
Crucify the Whore- Right now, under the guise of global warming, the largest tax increase in the history of the US is being voted on in the House of Representatives and instead the news outlets are more focused on the LA County coroner's results from the Michael Jackson autopsy!
77. writes:
AM I really the only person in the f***ing world that doesnt give a sh** that he's dead? I mean, Ilove his music as much as the next metrosexual, but hey, he made that home-alone kid touch his pee-pee. Not to mention all the other wacked out sh** he did to make him a media bullseye.
If anything, I'm relieved that the travesty MJ turned into is finally gone. I dont give a sh** anymore, and I hope people will get over it, although I doubt any will.
78. writes:
Oh wait... Yep, i'm over it. Slack shall not be cut for child molesters. With any luck at all, he's kickin it with Hitler right now shoving pineapples up each others a$$es backwards.
godlike says: They found so much plastic in MJ's body during the autopsy that they're going to melt it down and put it into Legos so that the kids can play with him now.
79. writes:
What do Michael Jackson and jockies both ride?
Three year olds.
Why did Michael Jackson run to K Mart?
Because he heard little boys pants were half off.
Why does Michael Jackson like twenty eight year olds?
Because theres twenty of them.
Why did Michael Jackson place a phone call to Boyz-2-Men?
He thought it was a delivery service.
Y'know, I don't feel any emotion for MJ's death... I guess he never really touched me as a kid.

Yes indeed the "nipple poster"..!!
It was passed down to me, from my oldest brother, about the time I started Junior High.!
It was still hanging on my bedroom wall, while I went through High School too..
All these years, and I just cant let it go..!! That smile and those nipples were the source of many loads back then ;-)
