Axl Rose: "Slash Is A Cancer"

Band Photo: Guns N Roses (?)
Guns N Roses's infamous frontman Axl Rose recently spoke with Del James for a discussion about a number of things. Inevitably, the question of a reunion came up to which Axl Rose responded: "It's highly doubtful for us to have more than one of the alumni up with us at any given time."
"I suppose (former bass player) Duff (McKagan) could play guitar on something somewhere but there's zero possibility of me having anything to do with Slash," Rose said.
"In a nutshell, personally I consider him a cancer and better removed, avoided -- and the less anyone heard of him or his supporters the better."

Ah, the nasty Axl is back. It's well known that Axl is just a baby, but its still pretty suprising he'd say something like that about Slash, especially now that we know for sure he's not worth dog sh** without the Illusion line-up. In my opinion he just did more damage to himself with a comment like that. Therefore, Congrats Axl!

Listen to "Obsession Confession" off the 1998 release Gypsy Soul and you will see the man has more talent than Axl will ever have. I think it would be difficult for anyone to find any bad press on Slash. The man is a notorious professional and from what I've read incredibly easy to work with. He also exhibits a trait quite alien to Mr. Rose. Class. He refuses to talk smack to the media about Axl. A favor which is rarely returned.
Despite this, Slash has gone on record to say he has not spoken directly to Axl since 1996. That's quite a while. To say this now, I only can assume it's a way to garner publicity for an album which is selling far below what was expected. A definate return to form for one of the biggest drama queens the music industry has or will ever see.
Bravo, Axl. Way to keep reminding the world of what an a$$hole you are.

wow allied! I've been playin for 13yrs and I know the diff between someone who plays for music and someone who plays for p***y and a stage presence. That magoo turd should of jumped off the flat earth a while ago. Machine head, cannibal, hatebreed and many others I confide in. Thank you.

Machine head, cannibal, hatebreed - definitely not the first bands I would quote as giving myself "trOO metal cred". In fact, i dont think they would be anywhere in that list.
Machine Head, so easy to like it's rediculous. Mix metallica, anthrax, and a little pantera, and maybe even throw in some slipknot, and you get Machine head. I believe on one album they actually rap just like limp bizkit, albeit with more intelligent lyrics by far, but still, come on.
hatebreed- poser metal, and they're not even metal, they're hardcore, and generally considered a musical insult to that genre as well.
Cannibal Corpse- EVERYONE SAYS THEY LISTEN TO CANNIBAL CORPSE. They're sO BrOOtAl!
Offensive song titles( make sure everyone pays attention to them), blatantly heavy music(everyone thinks they're the heaviest band EVER!), and media attention that rivals marilyn manson sometimes, how does a person listen to metal of ANY kind, and NOT end up saying they listen to this band? Last two albums were good as hell, and ya gotta love the titles and blatant offensiveness of it all, but I notice a lot of times, people who listen to "Avenged sevenfold" and "Bullet for my Vagina" will quote this band in order to get, like I said, "trOO metal cred"
Not saying youre a poser, not saying, you arent metal, whatever, just pointing out, I would have put up a different list, because a normal person who loves metal in all it's purest forms, and divergencies alike, like myself, would have their bullsh** detectors flying off the charts a tthe sight of a list like that in order to validaate someone's "metal-ness"
My list would have been more like, " I listen to Death, Slayer, and At the Gates", and that's only if I was going with some of the more blatantly obvious choices. ( I've said blatantly WAAAY too much in this post haha)
Again, not trying to rile sh** up, just making a point that I think you should keep in mind.
On topic, I will say that I do think Slash is an alright guitarist, although extremely over-rated, and Axel can shove it, his ol'drama queen b****-ass.

no, continue ranting genius. I mention three bands and some b**** wants to judge me in one paragraph. Jus continue talking bout slash. Who actually says someone is "metal"? I check this site every day for the next baddest sh**. Not for this . Take care and good luck.(applause).

Who actually says "the next baddest sh**"? It's a phrase jackass. Dont yell at me about my terminology and then make up your own.
if you paid any attention, I was trying ot say that I wasnt trying to b**** at you, I was just pointing out that someone could for those reasons. Not everyone that listens to the music that I do is reasonable. In fact I know at least 20 other people on this site off the top of my head who would just outright call you a fag or something equally rash, instead of explaining their opinion. See post 32 for the first example.
Calm the f*** down. Jesus.
Now playing: Deicide- When Heaven Burns
