Band Photo: Gorgoroth (?)
RevolverMag.com has issued the following update about the recent trial between the members of Gorgoroth over who will take the band's name:
"The two-day trial over the Gorgoroth band name took place January 28 through 30 in Oslo, Norway. The trial involved vocalist Gaahl, bassist King ov Hell, and recently departed guitarist Infernus. Infernus claimed that King had gone behind his back and applied for trademark protection on the Gorgoroth name and logo, which he’d been using since 1992."
The witnesses called to the stand include:
• Torgrim Øyre (former Gorgoroth member, booking manager at Hole In The Sky Festival)
• Anders Odden (ex-Celtic Frost, Cadaver Inc.)
• Tormentor (former Gorgoroth member, now member of the Infernus lineup)
• Espen Solheim Røhne (Norwegian distributor Indie Distribution, who has sided with Gaahl and King Ov Hell)
• Per Gyllenbäck (Regain Records, who has sided with Infernus)
• Asbjørn Slettemark (from Norwegian music industry magazine Faro Journalen)
• Gro Narvestad (Inferno Festival)

well the matter shown said that they want to eep the name since infernus didn't contribute to the bands work, but then infernus is the only original member of gorgoroth so i believe he should have the rights to the name, gaahl said that it's not a popularity contest it's all about satan so i guess e could perform under a different name, but knowing him if he loses the trial he's gona kidnap infernus ,torture him and make him drink his own blood :D

Russian roulette is my preferred wy of settling disputes, but the gallon of milk test works great in the absence of pistols. :P
Seriously(well, maybe not) "Whoever can burn the most churches wins" made me ROFL. and I never use the term ROFL.
Now Playing: I want to say gorgoroth, but then i might get sued depending on who wins this trial...

they are awesome live, the show is magnificent for a death metal act, inferno flame swallowing, nergal and the guys spitting blood, tearing the bible and so on,
going back to gorgoroth. who needs gorgoroth??
there's so many better black metal bands, even more trve check darkened nocturn slaughtercult they release ther albums themselves music is awesome trve, cvlt black metal and there's a woman on vocals which gives her vocals something utter devilish :D DNS is in dead earnest with their lyrics and opinions about life and society and is NOT practising show-satanism or poser-misanthropy

Analguest, I used to be a huge fan of Slipknot, but not anymore. My taste in extreme metal has changed vastly in the 8 years since I found Slipknot. The tat on the back of my neck is that they represent my metal past. I thank you for the complement. Let me see if my phone will let me check your lastfm out.

Welcome to the site Analguest, best avatar I've seen in awhile.
Analguest and Kali
I'll second the bit on Slipknot being an early extreme metal band. I still follow them, Jordison is amazing and they know their way around a song....Their lyrics are flinch inducing these days though. Dimmu was the first quasi-black metal band for me, still a big fan.
Watain fvcking kill. Just listenend to "Dead but Dreaming" a few minutes ago.
Now Playing: Bloodbath - "Mock the Cross"

This is a heartache situration here because whoever wins someone is going to lose out on something that they put major yrs in and hopefully who carries on the name will respect that musician member that is not there anymore. I know that GORGOROTH are a very controversial anti-religion band & I have my moments against that..'we all have a right to our beliefs, with that said I do very much care about them even though at times they all "3" members King, Infernus & Gaahl especially although he does have a calm demeanor in his presence fighten the hell out of me. I can the "hurt & concern" in their strong faces when asked about the future of their band Gorgoroth...'it's a turmoil situration for all them/I can't imagine what anyone of them maybe going through. When all the tragic sagas was happening/3 or 4yrs back in Gorgoroth w/Gaahl & Infernus crimes: the heavy load was left on King/Tom Visnes shoulders to keep GORGOROTH alive & he done a fine job with that (the last album is a haunting masterpiece) as he waited for the other two members to get it together & return but once back that's when the flood gates hitted & now there keyed off 2 against 1. Personally I think they/Gaahl & King should ask the founding member Infernus to come back: their all vital amazing haunting musicians & each of them "own" that name of Gorgoroth. Much respects!
