USC Trojan Marching Band To Play Avenged Sevenfold's "Almost Easy" At Rose Bowl Halftime Show

Band Photo: Avenged Sevenfold (?)
The USC Trojan Marching Band will perform Avenged Sevenfold's hit single "Almost Easy" during the Rose Bowl's halftime show on January 1, 2009. The broadcast begins at 1:30 p.m., with halftime starting at approximately 3:40 p.m. All times are PST.
The Trojan Band has already garnered a lot of attention earlier this year when it performed the song at a USC vs. Stanford game and a bootleg video was posted online.
Now, the Marching Band's performance of "Almost Easy" at the Rose Bowl will likely make it onto national television as ABC guarantees a three-minute portion of halftime be shown live.
You can watch the first performance from the Stanford game below, after the jump.

I don't remember if I've banned Kornboy before. Like I said previously to Jake, it's been months since I banned anyone. I'm so busy I can't remember what I had for breakfast! But I have to say the thought has crossed my mind with some of the recent trollish posts. Kornboy - try contributing something productive for a change.

Bg1 - That was a fantastic game, I must admit..!! Im a diehard Chiefs fan, but Ive always been a bit of an Eagles fan too..( I even have a Ricky Waters jersey from his days in Philly)
But then again, my second favorite team is whoever's playing the Cowgirls ;-)

Bruno: Indeed it was epic! BTW, I have to thank you as a Dolphin fan for keeping the Patriots out of the playoffs. Cheers brother.
godlike: I think there are some big changes comming this year for your Chiefs during the off season. How slick would it be for you guys to land Bill Cowher as head coach? Closet Eagles fan huh? lol. I've still got the Waters jersey too, as well as the creepy huge headed Waters mini figure (in the box still).

mhd101 - hey man, thats a good thing... being in the land of "cheeseheads" and not being a football fan makes me like ya even more.....I hate the Packers as much as the Cowgirls...!!
And a Happy Metal New Year to you also..!!
Bg1 - Yeah, Cowher in the head coaches seat would be a nice addition.... also seen some chatter of perhaps Shottenhiemer as GM too..??
LOL... the huge headed mini figures... hahaha.. I have a Marcus Allen..!!
Bruno - Yes, it was great to see the Dolphins take the division and make the playoffs....!! Im assuming after that win you were suffering from a severe case of "bowlio" huh..?? LOL
Pride and Glory - I hate your guts

BlindGreed- No worries bro! After all these years the Pats are watching the paly-offs from home. Seems the Patriots are a totally different team without their coach spying on the opposition, wouldn't you say?
Godlike- I was partying all day yesterday, bro! I had my first case of Bolio at about 6:30AM, LOL. I started drinking when Dolphins game began at one and by the time game 2 (San Diego vs. Denver) ended eight hours later I was trashed.
MetalheadDrummer- Don't worry, you are still young. When you get older you will realize that watching sports is just another excuse to have a good time with friends and family by having a few cold ones and eating some good food.
TOG- I don't think you missed much it was pretty quiet last week; what with the holiday and all.

I am a Miami fan, so I should be happy, but I'm a bit apathetic really. I'm just not thrilled with their identity of late. They let a number of great defensive players go in recent years, added Pennington (who is better than most QBs they've had since Marino, but still not a great QB and not particularly likeable to me either) and just the fact that they even gave Ricky Williams the chance to play again after he bailed annoys me - he is almost solely responsible for the downward spiral of recent years when he was supposed to be the foundation to build on. As far as home teams go, I'm partial to Baltimore (over Washington), so if the Dolphins happen to lose their first playoff game, I will not be upset at all and will be cheering the Ravens on.
22. writes:
DB: The Ravens are going to be tough without a doubt. When their offence is firing they are pretty much unstopable. They put a smack down on my Eagles earlier this year. As far as Miami is concerned, they are still in the building stage. I believe that over the next few years they will evolve into a team that will pleasently suprize you.
Bruno: I think there's actually two reasons. The first you mentioned and the second... Tom Brady. As much as I hate to admit it, that guy is awesome.
godlike: Those things are just creepy as hell. I kept mine becuse it was a gift from my dad. He was a huge Cowboy fan, so i'm sure it took a lot for him to spend his money on it. lol. I also heard the Sottenhimer talk yesterday. Shottenhimer and Cowher would be the perfect storm for the Chiefs.
TOG: Mornin brother. What did my cat get for xmas?

Blindgreed1 -- We got him a little playmate. He's so furry, it's hilarious. And his ears are hairy.. he looks like Yoda (as far as the face goes, lol).

Now that was spendy...2 Danes and the Newf were eating 50-60 lbs a week.... So, I would have to separate the dogs, just so the Danes could eat..!! LOL
He was snipped at 7mnths (thats how I knew his weight) but it still didnt stop him from tackling the Danes and humping the hell out of em... LOL... I never did figure out why he was doing it, if he was fixed.... but it never stopped him ;-)

My favorite tune is "Get off My Jollies"... that particular tune shows the combination best \m/

Im actually thinking of thinning the herd, to free up some cash to invest in some kit guitars on Ebay... Im thinking of making a few more like the one I have pictured on myspace.... hoping maybe there is a market for em..???
mhd101- The Pearl set was a Forum series with an extra bass drum added, along with a full set of Zildian ZBTs.... The replica posters are rather cool and are made for alot of outlaws.... western gunfighters, mobsters like "Machine gun Kelly"...Bonnie and Clyde....etc.. up to and including Manson and the "Nightstalker"....!!
I was checking out a cool one this morning and thought of you.... Its a Wanted poster for just Clyde of Bonnie and Clyde fame... shows him sitting on the bumper of a car holding a couple guns...with a $500 reward...!! Cool huh.? It would be perfect for that singer of Blind Greed;-)
Havent finished the movie yet... too many phone calls, emails and posting to do.... its a 1971 movie... It was listed on Stephen Kings top 10 horror movies of all time...so I thought Id check it out..??

They come with either the Strat shaped headstock or the Kramer banana/hockeystick headstock.... both kits have unfinished maple necks and fretboards ;-)
It depends on what price I can get the kits for and then adding the other materials ( posters, stains and my secret adhesive materials ;-)
Im sure we could work out some sorta deal... Yours would be alot cheaper than Id sell em on Ebay ..... thats a FOR SURE..!!

"Myths of the Norsemen From the Eddas and Sagas" by H.A. Guerber is a quick read, but any of the Eddas and Sagas are better reads on their own. The Volsunga Saga, The Olaf Trygvasson Saga, or the Jomsvikinga Saga. I wish I could read them in Old Norse but I'm not THAT dedicated :)
"Heimskringla: or the Lives of the Norse Kings" by Snorri Sturlason is good as well. In fact anything by Snorri Stulason is great. If you are into non-fiction
"A History of the Vikings" by Gwyn Jones is pretty informative, but a very dry read, you have been warned.
The books that really drew me into Viking history and myth as a kid were D'Aulaires Guides, Greek and Norse were both good. Made for kids, but not kiddish if that makes sense. And finally but no where near final, "Eaters of the Dead" is a great take on the Beowulf story by Michael Crighton. I've read it about a dozen times. Hope this helps :)

And speaking of that singer.... it was his voice that was used in the movie "Rock Star" for Mark Walbergs character..!!

Nope Ive never been much of a wine drinker...!!
but I have heard of Maynard and Tool tho ;-).... Tell him I said "Hey.. hows it goin.?
I was gonna mention to ya, Im having a hard time with plans for "our project"...
Most all Tele style guitars, have a damn pickguard ( which hampers the application of the picture to the body... and then there is the problem of those guitars having that one piece steel bridge peice that surrounds that bridge PU...and then the control plate too... those things would end up covering a good portion of the picture...??
593. writes:
Bg1 - Well, to start off with... an Alder, Basswood or Poplar body and a bolt on neck would make it significantly lighter than any Gibson model..!
There are Les Paul style guitar kits made, that have Alder or Basswood bodies..? But the drawback to that is that it would be best to upgrade tuners, PU and even bridge... But then again, there are also other options..?
The easiest and best way to go, is to buy a used guitar, without a Floyd or Kahler tremelo.... that has decent components to start with..? Perhaps something like an 80s Peavey Tracer or an Ibanez Roadstar for example..??
Some of those were made with just a Strat style tremelo( takes up less space than a Floyd) or no tremelo at all... and have only a single PU.. or 1hum and a couple singles... but the single holes could be filled in..??
Do you have a preference as to a particular brand..??
If your gonna use it for just slide playing... the action will have to be set so high that it will be uncomfortable to play normally...... so mulitple PUs and tremelo systems wouldnt even be used anyway..??
I will send some pics of a few different models that could be used..?? Dont "fret" it.... I will come up with something that will work for ya..!!
No matter what guitar is used, the body is gonna be completely stripped of paint and stained to look like that project body youve seen pics of...!!
OK, so Im gonna be heading out to my tat apt... I will email some pics and ideas tonight..!!
Where the hell is Bruno..??
595. writes:
Bg1 - My tat apt.. isnt anything new.....all thats being done is filling some of the background color up around the shoulder..... All done now.... and it appears to be a finished sleeve now too \m/
Jsin - Thanks for the compliments man..!!
Yeah, the hole in the sleeve idea came about, because the ink wouldnt stick in the tough skin at the pinnacle of the elbow.. it was tried a couple times... and it would always scab up and come out within weeks.... So, hence the "hole in the sleeve" idea was born one afternoon, wacked outta my brain on Vicadin, Xanax and a few hits of skunk bud;-)

Wiggles: Gein inspired Dead Skin Mask by Slayer. Couple that together with the fact that nearly every serial killer (fiction) movie ever made has a little Ed Gein in it and I would say that far outweighs the deeds of the Unibomber. Edmund Kemper and Richard Ramirez are also worth mentioning because as was Gein, they all played a very personal role with their victims whereas Ted just sent things through the mail.

Yeah I usually don't put down bands, we are all different and we like what we like, hopefully despite popular opinion. My neice listens to stuff like that actually and I'm exposed to bands like A7F and Bullet for My Valentine every once in a while. I never put her down for what she likes. She also listens to alot of old Bay Area thrash bands cause of me and her dad. I gave her my old Epiphone Bass from when I was a kid and shes been learning ever since. There's a band called Between the Buried and Me that really piqued my interest and I suppose its the same style of music. Just seemed much more prog influenced is why they caught my ear. Not sure what I'm saying, I guess it took a little girl to teach me to be accepting of all people's tastes and never let my own views overshadow my acceptance of others. To quote Manowar we are all "Brothers of Metal"

Netro: Again with the words of the wise man. The only thing i'll give A7X is their drummer is pretty good. The singer just chapps my a$$. A lot of people on this site hate Trivium as well, but I like 2 songs off their most recent album. I try to keep my band bashing to a minimum, but sometimes I get a little carried away. It's true, we are all brothers and sisters of metal.
654. writes:
Metalhead: I don't like them either, but "Throes of Perdition" and "Blood Rains Down" are pretty well written and they actually pull it off well. It doesn't sound at all like their previous material (like Metallica). If you haven't heard these two yet you probably should. I think you'll be very suprized. I've also heard that they put on a pretty good show, although i've never seen them personally.
godlike: It's doubtful. You are the 666 king it seems. I tried on the last A7X thread to no avail.

Metalhead: Seriously, just try Throes of Perdition and tell me what you think. There's some pretty good percussion work on that song. I am NOT a Trivium fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, but my drummer heard it and gave it mad props... Until I told him who it was. lol.

MHD101, you'll understand when you're older. I mean no offense by that, I'm simply saying, you'll understand. In the eyes of the law, Bush did nothing wrong. He entered into a war with approval from Congress. That is all you need. Ther intel thing was botched, and he owned up to it, but we can't leave now. Ask the troops on the ground what is going on, and you will get a different story that the media wants you to hear. Obama, nor anyone in the House, can try him for anything. Clinton was never brought up on perjury charges, therefore, Bush will not be brought up on anything either.
Don't expect Mr. Hope-and-Change to dramatically alter the state of our country. He supported every bail out plan, which W. had nothing to do with getting themselves into that situation, and he wants a huge stimulus package which will do nothing but bury us more in debt. People, by nature are relatively stupid. Give 300 million people another free check, and see what they do with it. Uncle Sam just gave me a $150 a pay period, pay raise. Do you think that I will be using that to but needless things? No my friend, that is another bill paid out of my check, and not my wife's. It's called fiscal responsibility, and it what has gotten over half of our population, myself included, in deep doo-doo. Difference between the other half is, we learn from our mistakes.
I am working to resolve my situation so we don't have to eat sloppy joe's and hot dogs every week. That is called being personally accountable for the situation we are in, and not expecting a handout from Big Brother. That is called Integrity.

I don't expect him to be ABLE to do anything in 4 years, let alone 8 years, as bush fvcked everything up as much as possible, as he's been doing in his last days in office. I also hated that he supported the bailout. Where did the money go? into the pockets of CEOs.

MHD101: Yeah, it's sarcasm (in AP's absence). Re-read what he posted. He's trying to tell you that we (the people) are the responsible parties in this thing. It's up to us to sink or swim. Pointing fingers is useless and usually a distraction from the truth. Quoting Obama's campaign propaganda will do about as much as Obama can... Nothing. Furthermore, (and this is my two cents) there isn't a man/woman on the face of this earth that could have or would have done anything different regarding this war. The American people wanted this. Congress wanted this. Everyone was gung ho until we got in there. Then as soon as we got in there, a certain party started pushing to get us out. You just can't do that. You can't go in there, fvck it all up and then leave. As AP1 stated, ask the ground troops over there (who live it every day) what they think needs to be done there. They'll tell you that we need to stay long enough to stablize the area.

Well said Blind.....well said. Let's just see where the whole Gitmo thing will get us. Many of the ones who have been let go, are already back in their countries, back on the front lines. Their own countries don't want these people back. What this means, is that, when they do shut the doors, the people inside will be moved to an American prison system. That means they will have easier access to many American, bleeding-heart, ACLU lawyers. Fun, fun, fun. I say line the f***ers up and shoot them in the back of their heads.

godlike: Damn dude. That sucks. The same thing happened to Big pimpin last week. Times are tough out there man. I don't see it getting much better either when Obama brings the troops home. I remember Ben. He seemed pretty cool. Does he have any updates about the movie role yet?

Bg1- Yeah, things are tough for everyone... but at the same time, I was given a different offer last weekend... A buddy of mine is an owner/operater that is buying a truck from the guys he drives for and with..!! Well, after he was telling them about my situation... they offered me a deal, where I could take one of their trucks, on a lease to own basis and start driving immediatly..!!
The idea of making payments on a 50,000 vehicle kinda frightens me tho !!
No updates on the movie roll for Ben.... but I find it a bit ironic that he's also a trucker ;-)

godlike: Haha, birds of a feather huh? Cool man. Screw the insecurities over the $50,000 man. It's only money. I think you should go for it. Having your own ride means bigger, better pay right? Isn't that what we're in it for? Hell, man... I think you should go for it.

Yeah, the only draw back is that all repairs, upkeep and fuel etc... comes off the top before I get my paycheck.! So, to make lots of money means I run my a$$ off and pray nothing breaks down..!!
This other company's recruiter told me this morning, that I should be able to start by the 1st of Mar. orso.?? That is ideally the place to work for... Their rigs = their money spent on repairs, fuel and upkeep..!! And their pay is guaranteed... plus an excellent benifit program..!!

IN - thats GREAT to hear... Im happy for you and your bunny:-)
I have had problems with insomnia and nightmares for the last decade or so.... but since Ive started taking these Klonopin, I dont even have dreams... or remember em anyway...!! Most mornings I wake up in the same position that I fell asleep in...an Ive been a tosser n turner since I was a kid.!!

godlike: I LOVE nightmares. It's like a free horror movie in your head.
Jsin: Glad that little darling did the trick for ya. I always keep a few on hand so don't hesitate to ask if you need one.
IN: AP1 will be dissappointed, but alas... He's a big boy, he'll get over it. lol.

Bg1 - Dont get me wrong... I truly enjoy a good scare.... But the nightmares I've been dealing with for the last decade deal with the loss of my oldest brother..!! And those SUCK..!!
IN - your bunnies play with your cat..? Thats kinda odd...its cool.!! But odd nonetheless..!!

IN - Well, I cant that my dreams are anything like killing my brother:(
He died of a heart attack at the ripe old age of 40..! Yeah, thats how old I am now, after my birthday last week ;-)
Cats are certainly some weird animals... The one that lives here, loves to eat people food... but will only take food from me... whenever I sit down to eat he sits at my feet... sat up on his hindend looking like a prairie dog... waiting for me to throw food to him..!!
He eats everything I throw to him... pickles, onions, tomatoes, beans, corn, even peas... but he loves meat the most.... I just tease him with that tho.... like wiping my bacon covered fingers on a napkin and then throwing a peice of napkin to him... LOL
Now that is funny, watching him pick it up and start chewing on it... and then spit it back out and look at me like Im such an a$$hole ;-)

Hahahaha Bg1 - I forgot all about the Jalepeno episode.... LOL... that was f^cking hysterical..!!
The ol ladies kid even got that one on video... I should see if he still has it and load it on Youtube..??
Took care of my daily dose of drama...
Its now time to make some supper.. Im thinking a pan of cornbread is going to taste mighty good alongside the crockpot of beans and ham that have been stewing most of the day ;-)

No, Blindgreed, he's not dead, but I have weird dreams of killing him, which freak me out. Me and him aren't really on good terms, but I can't imagine I'd ever kill anyone.
Godlike - Sorry about that. It's never good to see someone you love in suffering.
Aww, that's so cute about the cat! I actually have a very interesting way of getting my cat to eat people food. Thing is, he won't actually eat it if you throw it to him... BUT, if you immitate how it would look like if he were to eat it, he'll do it. I swear, one time I had this random idea... I don't even know why I did it, but I had a hint that I thought it would make him to the same thing... I got a bowl full of cereal, and put it on the floor. I put another one right next to mine full of the same cereal. Now, normally my cat would dismiss it and not do anything, but I got down on my hands and knees and ate from my bowl (I was acting like a cat). And then he started eating the cereal! :D

Um, Jsin... that is pretty strange... Ive had dreams that Im falling or being shot etc... but I always wake up before I die..!
IN - yeah, the cat is kinda cute when he does that kinda stuff....but generally he is more of a pain in my a$$ than anything.... Oddly enough I named him "Roid" ;-)
Im glad to know you didnt lose your brother.....cause that truly sucks..!!
I can understand about not getting along with em..!! I have two other brothers, that I havent talked to in over 3 yrs..!!

I dont have dreams of killing anyone, but i do have those suicide, jumping off a building dreams. Those are the only ones I usually remember, becasue those are the only dreams I wake up during.
Although I did once have a dream where an entire scenario of my morning at school played out, all the way till lunch, when I was talking to one of my friends and his head spontaneously exploded. I didnt find out why, because at that exact moment, my alarm went off, waking me up for school.
And for all my jokes IN, congats on your cat getting back into the realm of the healthy and active. Ive had a few cats actually die on me and it tore the sh** outta me, especially since i had raised them from kittens. SO I'm glad ur buddy pulled through. :]
