Slayer Records Three New Songs, Sample From "Psychopathy Red" Online

Band Photo: Slayer (?)
Slayer spent some weeks in a recording studio in late September/early October to record three new songs for their new album which will be released spring/summer 2009. One of the songs is called "Psychopathy Red," a Jeff Hanneman track which gives you a look into the mind of Russian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo. You can listen to a clip of the song at Spin.com.
As previously reported, fans who attend any of the upcoming European "Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III" dates, will receive the new Slayer song via an exclusive download card that will also include special material from the entire tour's line-up - Slayer, Mastodon, Trivium and Amon Amarth. The download card, along with a limited edition "Unholy Alliance Tour" clothing patch, will be given away free only to ticket holders when they arrive at their local venue the night of the show.

I don't see no one likes Christ Illusion as much as other albums. I prefer the singing in it for some reason - songs like Cult and Skeleton Christ strike a chord with me. I prefer it to other albums where Arraya jst speaks loud and fast. Just my opinion though.

Txmetalhead: Did you know that the Grand Canyon was created by Kerry King performing a giant pick slide across the Southwest? That is why he has such a big mouth. You have to admit that is something to brag about.
Irish Metal: Yet another point we agree on.

Wow!...that was quite mind-blowing!
I think Hanneman's full contribution will result in a better album than Christ Illusion. Hopefully they tour the states immediately after the album is complete.

I don't have anything against Kerry King. In fact, I think he is a tremendous rhythm guitar player but I personally think Jeff should get some recognition.
I'm getting tired of people saying "Kerry is god!, Kerry is amazing!"....Yes i know that but fukk dude give Jeff some props too!

Good shout Shredder! I reckon it's probably because Kerry looks more "metal" than Jeff if ya get me? So people point him out more but Jeff is an equally if not better songwriter than King. Plus I'm still sore about Kerry King not turning up to the meet and greet I was at last year in Birmingham :P

Yeah I get what you're saying Oz. Or maybe Jeff doesn't want any attention at all. Who knows?......either way both of em' can tear the stage in half. You say Kerry didn't attend a fan meet & greet?...any idea why he didn't show up? He was probably just feeding his snakes back home.

Oz: Henneman is without a doubt a better writer than King. However, both are equally good and it just wouldn't be Slayer without either of them.
Shredder: Henneman is a private person. Nobody in the band even knew that his sister had died in a car wreck until it came out in a casual conversation some years later. Still he was a founding member of the Slayer O.A. (Obnoxious A$$hole) club.

Kerry didn't turn up because he was tired was what the fella at the NEC told me. He was supposed to be there friday (when I was there), saturday and sunday and apparantly was knackered from his flight from LA. This was the only reason I went on the college trip so I found a bar and spent the rest of the trip in there, it's great being one of the few people old enough to drink :P
I agree. Slayer without Hanneman or King or Tom Araya for that matter wouldn't be Slayer, it's great that Lombardo is back in the fold too but Bostaph was also a great fit.

One thing I'm sure of is that Slayer suck at slow songs, it makes Tom slip into monotonous yelling and King pump up the Diablous-riffs. All the slow tracks on Christ Illusion were a waste, whereas "Confearacy", "Cult" and "Jihad" blew your socks off.
