Dream Theater Enters The Studio

Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess has posted a handful of audio and video updates from the first few days spent in the studio recording Dream Theater's upcoming tenth album.
The follow-up to 2007's "Systematic Chaos," which debuted in the ARIA chart at #23 in its first week of release, the new album will be their second with Roadrunner Records.
In his online diary "The Wizard's Log," Rudess said progress has already been made in the short period of time they've been locked away in the studio.
"It's going very well. Notes are flying as usual, there's lots of inspiration flying around, lots of food, lots of Starbucks. We're having a good time, it's good to hang with the boys again and do our thing. We're hard workers when we're at it and it's been really very cool," he said.

I love Dream Theater, but I don't think the singer (his name escapes me right now) is that great. If they had the guy from Into Eternity (probably the best singer, ever... his name also escapes me at the moment) in their band, wow. That would be incredible.
Now playing: Into Eternity - "Timeless Winter"

If ANY band had that guy as their snger, then they would be incredible lol. i think his name is stu something, i forget his last name.
i have ONE problem with Dream theater. their songs seem to carry on for too long in my opinion. It's good music, the songs just seem like they could end a whole lot sooner and be just as good. :p
Now Palying: ACDC- The Jack

I saw Into Eternity open for Dream Theater in '07 and their(Into Eternity) performance was God-awful. The singing was horrendous! Now, I've only seen them the one time, but it really turned me off of them. That and guitarist Tim Roth's absence of a tonal-center in his playing...

Man, every thread I see - "if these guys had that guy from Into Eternity..." lol. Hell I was just over on that Anti-Piracy Laws thread "if George Bush was that guy from Into Eternity..." :P
Dream Theatre don't, in my opinion, need a different vocalist. The dude they've got is great in his own right.

Lmao, I'm not saying that every band needs IE's singer, I just think his vocals would fit DT's music a lot better than James LaBrie's (I think that's his name) vocals. Don't get me wrong, he's a good singer, I just think DT would be better off with someone better (Tim "Ripper" Owens would have been a great choice too!).
