Cannibal Corpse Bassist Checks In From The Studio

Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster has posted the following studio report:
"Alex from CANNIBAL here checking in from Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. Paul (Mazurkiewicz) has finished all the drum tracks for our new album, and we think he did an amazing job. Things really went smoothly with the drum tracking this time, and that gave us a little extra time for Paul to get creative with some of the drum parts. Everything is still fast and brutal as you'd expect, but there are a few different rhythmic ideas happening that we think our fans will appreciate. The next step for us will be to start working on a guitar sound, and then begin guitar tracking. The sound of the rhythm guitar is one of the most important things on a metal album, so we will take our time and make sure that we get the heaviest sound possible. The recording of the rhythm guitars will be something we'll take our time with as well. Rob (Barrett, guitar), Pat (O'Brien, guitar) and producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, ex-MORBID ANGEL) are truly perfectionists when it comes to guitar tracking, they'll settle for nothing less than a flawless performance. That kind of dedication can make for a challenging recording session, but when the end result is a crushingly heavy album it's more than worth the time and effort."

I too am also looking forward to the new Cannibal Corpse album aswell as the new Suffocation and Napalm Death albums. Although I've never really been able to get into death metal as a whole, there's some bands who I do really like. I'd like to see CC and Suffocation live, as when I saw Obituary at Graspop, although I enjoyed it, I just didn't get it and couldn't get into the full swing of the show. So I wanna see some more classic death metal to see if I'm just genetically destined to not fully enjoy death metal or if I can really get into it.

Well Cannibal Corpse to me have always been pretty overrated, yet some-how by notoriety alone became one of death metals highest selling acts. That was all until "Kill" anyway, which I highly recommend checking out. I mean, literally I disliked most of CC's work but Kill is just a great album.

Actually, as far as metalcore goes, the new Unearth album sounds really awsome. My favorite CC albums are The Wretched Spawn, Tomb of the Mutilated and Gallary of Suicide.
N.P-Cannibal Corpse-Festering In The Crypt
and in a few minutes: Amon Amarth-Free Will Sacrifice

Yes they do haha, seeing as you're playing one of their demos I can say that I always thought that the song "Pleading for Preservation" off the Roadrunner demo was one of their best songs, can't believe it never got on Focus or even the re-release of Focus. Gorguts are awesome. I pretty much like anything that isn't boring.
What bands are you into at the moment?

My flatmate is into pretty much all music if it's good, and he's always trying to get me to listen to hip hop. Jurassic 5 this, Immortal Technique that etc. I do pretty much hate modern metal/scene/trendy music but there's still a slew of new acts I like. Loss is one of my favorite new acts, should be putting out their debut next year.

Immortal Technique is a fantastic lyricist but his voice is a little flat is the problem. Either way, he makes good hip-hop with some really strong messages and truely believes what he preaches is another reason why I like him. I'm listening to the new Ill Bill album alot lately, damn that album is so good. Plus one track features both Immortal Technique and Max Cavalera, odd pairing but it works very well!
