You people are so horrible. Do you really sit and wait for Avenged Sevenfold threads????
So you can sadly diss some bad who doesn't care if you like them or not. But have fans that will follow through for them. By standing up and defend people who make a difference in their mind's eye.
Go ahead and talk down to me. I don't care.
At least I can go on and like something that makes me happy.

Are you insisting that because I don't like avenged sevenfold that I am not happy? Sorry I forgot how happy these guys made people.

I stopped listening to Rick Astley for THIS?! I'm gonna check them out at Graspop in a few weeks just to say I've seen them and because when I write the report I'm sure the lure of A7X will be too strong not to attract readers :P For all I know though, they could be a good live band when you see them. Time will tell!
I'm good Kali, you?

Kali... it isnt anything that bad..!! well not this time anyway... and not for my area of the state... besides... when a tornado develops there is no time for anything...except heading to the nearest basement or at least some sort of protection..
That big bastard that leveled most of a town last week was about an hours drive from where I live... the winds in that tornado were hitting somewhere over 205 miles an hour.... there was debris found in yards and feilds over 50 miles away... believe it or not..!!
on topic for a moment-
I havent found the courage to sit through this video yet...!! After watching Scott Wielands train wreck in the STP thread... I just dont think I could stomach this too..
Oz, I found some killer Fozzy footage on the ol youtube... didnt find any Over the Mountain tho... can ya steer a mate in the right direction of finding that tune..?

hey guys!
cool, a tornado discussion! well, there was a funnel cloud about a mile north of me, but nothing dropped down other than rain, hail and heavy winds.
yeah, godlike, it must be summer here in good ole tornado valley.
kali - boarding up a house for a hurricane is one thing, but the chance of a tornado hitting your house isnt very likely and thus not worth the effort. besides, if a tornado hit your house, boarded or not, its going to turn it into rubble.

Yes Godlike me and the ol man are good. Yesterday he and I had a mis-understanding. Sideways rain hu? Time to break out the umbrella and the skateboard!
Good points Termie. I would end up doing it anyway. Just in case if not for a direct hit by the tornado something else hitting the windows its protected.
I just cleaned my jewelry. Not sure why, but I love to clean silver. Very satisfying!

yeah this band is actually mainstream....3dg and nickelback arent considered metal tho like a7x is correct...i think we can all agree that most modern metal is not played on the radio because of the nature of the music....i believe a7x is mainstream and i also believe there f***ing annoying with there cute little names such as "the rev" "johnny christ"....I would honestly say this band is border line GLAM... Or as us true metalheads say " Gay L.A. Metal "

Hey Godlike, if you check out Fozzy's self-titled album it's on there. I tell you what, I'll post it on YouTube as a fan video or something for ya. I believe that "Gay L.A. Metal" is a reference to Dave Mustaine, except he said "Gay L.A. Music". I think it was Mustaine anyway.
I don't have anything against a band whether they're mainstream or not to be fair, I only dislike them if I dislike the music. Hell I like Nickelback and 3 Doors Down.

well i guess my definition of a true metalhead is somebody has supported this music for over 18 years now...bought cd's...went to live show...festivals such as wacken open air (ino the person being a smart a$$ and thinks he knows everything about every band on this website has not been to wacken) and has metal in there veins.
by the way "Gay L.A. Metal" is a direct quote from Lars Ulrich.....metalhead...i think so, say what you want about him but metallica wasnt the biggest selling rock band in the 90's for anything

sorry i havent been around lately, glad you noticed. anyways, i want to comment about the time speeding up thing, time used to always go slow for me, whether im having a good or bad day....until the last 2 years when i basically just let time slip by. if you want time to go slower, you have to avoid routine and give more for your brain to process, so do something meaningful everyday, feed your brain with something, the more there is for your brain to process, the slower time goes. thats why little kids think 2 years is a long time, because theyre constantly learning and experiencing new things, time can go just as slow, its just when you get older you let your brain shut down a little.
when i lived in the midwest, tornados were always so exciting to me, haha!! hiding in the basement in the middle of the night after the siren sounded was like an adventure for me. i loved the suspense and i still do to this day.

It doesnt really matter who said it... Its not that Im personally offended by the remark, but there was ALOT of good music during that time period...
I was in the early stages of my life as a metalhead in the late 70s early 80s...and graduated high school in 87(which was probably the height of "hair metal")..!!
I enjoyed all of the metal at that time... whether it was the NWOBHM with Saxon, Def Leppard ,Maiden and Priest etc... or the LA scene with Dokken, Motley Crue, Ratt and all the others (on a personal note... I never liked Poison..!! )
Whether you like themusic or not... the fact is... there are ALOT of phenominal guitarists associated
with hair metal or LA metal.. whatever its called..!!
give me sh^t or not..... but, Id rather listen to anything by Dokken or Motley Crue than subject myself to the torture of listening to a7x .. bfmv or mcr...!!
So how is everyone doing today...?? seems that with the 6+ inches of rain over the last couple days... there is ALOT of flooding around my area of Iowa.... Perhaps building an ark isnt such a bad idea..????

i agree with you i would rather listen to crue to, i am a huge crue fan i will be going to crue fest at the post gazette pavilion... alls i was saying is that they are "border line" glam because I've never seen a modern metal band such as themselves get all glamored up for a show with the glitter and what not...I wasn't a big glam guy at all but i always like motley crue because of there careless attitude. I'm honestly not taking shots at anyone but it seems when somebody writes something on here and a few people disagree they'll say something (which is ok)

kali, my mouth is doing great!! the only thing left are these deep pits in the back of my mouth that will take weeks to heal over.
ive heard adults say that time goes slower because kids are only focused in the moment, but as you get older your brain becomes more complex and percieves time differently, you have more responsibilities and are less focused in the present. this is why older people always say "live in the moment". also it may be because when you are 30, 1 year is 1/30 of your life, opposed to a 5 year old seeing 1 year as 1/5 of their life. plus when you get older memories tend to blend, mix, and get forgotten easier than when you are younger giving the illusion time is going faster. for instance, i looked back at these last six months by looking at pictures on my camera and i realized i had done a whole lot more than i thought i had and realized that i lived through more time than i had thought. maybe you cant make time go as slow as when you were a kid, but it is a commonly known fact that the more your brain processes the slower time goes. ive noticed that myself so i try to stay away from routine cuz your brain isnt powered up to do somthing youre used to.
.......geez, since when did A7X threads become so serious?? haha

one more thing, time is also slower if you dont have much to look forward to, kids have their whole life ahead of them, but when you get older, the only thing ahead of you is death. sorry if i made that too blatant, but it is the honest truth. if you anticipate and look forward to something time goes slower. and like i said before experiencing new things makes time slower, im sure you all can relate to that, so just go out and do something with your life....

I have never, EVER, thought this band was worth listening to once you are over the age of 12. I heard(or rather, saw) Bat Country on MTV, and wanted to punch the t.v. screen, and I didn't even know who that band was yet. I've hated them since I found out they existed. I only hate a few bands more, namely, BFMV, Lordi, Dragonforce, and A7x (yes, that's right, i hate A7x more than A7x) :)

Hey LM, what if noone but you exists, and all of reality is just a delusion of the mind to occupy itself? My responses to your questions , including this one, are just constructs of your own mind creating a conversation to occupy itself, hiding the fact that the origination f every statement said to you is actually within your own consciousness! or maybe we're all just stupid. :b
And ya, I have thought about what you said alot, considering I study theoretical physics as a hobby, and it all ends with "where the f*** did all this sh** come from?!!?!" How can something come from nothing blah blah blah, quite a mindf*** there I would say; so I ended up looking into the whole cyclic universe theory and le t me tell you, imagining a universal cycle with no beginning and no end is quite a bit more frustrating than imagining what nothing looks like!

Well Kali, I don't actually condone using A7X threads (or any other) as chatrooms but on the other hand, I am posting here haha. To LMs question above - time only began at the big bang, and before that - only the singularity. Most of these things are pointless for us to muse over, because just like the 4th dimension humans unfortunately can only perceive so much "reality". In fact, the universe is essentially limited - there is no "outside" or "before". If you travelled in one direction across the universe you'd end up in the same spot eventually - how? Well it's difficult to understand but it's a bit like taking a person from a 2D world into our world - he'd walk around the earth and wonder how he got back to the same spot!
On lighter issues - I've just sat my Theoretical Computer Science exam and have one more exam tomorrow and then I'm free! Which is why I've been posting on MU so much lately - Procrastination!

mornin Kalis, nothing would surprise me about peoples tastes in food.... I got a buddy who orders his pizzas without the sause..!!
Hahaha, drivethrus are so much fun... try ordering a Big Mac with three middle sections of the bun.. instead of the usual top, middle and bottom bun... ;-) they dont like that at all...
Ive done it several times, and they have never let me have one like that... it sure gets some funny responses tho.... Even after I explain to them that they would only be left with three regular hamburger buns... they just dont get it..!!

127. writes:
cynic, time is the distance between two events so if there was no time then the big bang would have never happened because there would be no such thing as a change in events, time would have had to be there to allow it to go from the singularity to the big bang, right?? but then again like you said, our perceptions are only limited to the 3rd dimension.......the fourth dimension thing i understand, studying higher dimensions can be interesting and frustrating because i know humans will never fully comprehend it.

131. writes:
Actually... according to the cyclic universe theory that has been tossed around lately, the big bang was a result of the collision of the two outermost dimensional branes (there are actually 19 dimensions, counting time as one of them). These branes regularly contract and expand based on the ratio of gravitational energy to dark energy currently in the universe....soooo... this wouyld mean that there may have been MANY big bangs, every time the branes collide, and the universe starts over, albeit with different combinations of atomic structures and energy distribution each time.. So potentially, the big bang is NOT the beginning of time, just a sort of "reset button" for the universe. blahhhhhhhhhhhh blah blah blah blah blah.
Also, on the "are we watched over by higher-beings f***in around with our lives thing", How would we ever know? Since memory and perception are really just electrical impulses once you get down to it, someone with enough knowledge in how to manipulate that could just determine our entire reality for us, implanting all our memories for us, even erasing all of them on a whim and replacing them with new ones, and there would be no way to fight that, because we would never be aware of it occuring!
I personally think the matrix was made as a double-bluff. Since it's a movie, How could that possibly be real? Anyone who may have been thinking along those lines or espousing those ideas before, now has to contend with the fact that those ideas are now associated with a kung-fu sci-fi movie. How can they be taken seriously? or take their own ideas seriously? Unless of course they happen to be intellectually paranoid and possibly stoned Metalheads.... :D
Now Playing: with the idea of building a time machine lol

134. writes:
"time would have had to be there to allow it to go from the singularity to the big bang, right?" - Well you see time began at the big bang - called t = 0.
I don't know anything about dimensional branes but I like the idea of a cyclic universe (Nietzsche wrote about it). The reason I like it is because, when you really think about it, the idea of being so insignificant in a universe of such chaos is terrifying.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age." - HP Lovecraft
Right I'm off to my last exam for the semester - wish me luck!

Don't get me wrong, f*** nickelback. They make sh**ty music that a ton of douche bags can deal with. I wouldn't get so worked up about insults to Iowa inhabitants, I just think Slipknot has given you guys a bad name these days!!! I personally enjoy a good joke or two about how Floridians are too stupid to vote!
Oh, and I have a asian joke!
Q: How do you blindfold an asian man?
A: Dental Floss
And A7x suck, always have. (See, I can be on topic too!!!)

NO NO NO NO It's THe "Agonist", not the the Agnostics, different name, but I make the slip-up myself all the time when I'm talking a bout them or typing the name. It's like in Prot-"agonist". lol
I would recomend either the track "rise and fall", or "Buisiness Suits and Combat Boots" check it on youtube they have a video for one of those two songs.
Now Playing: Affliction- "Chaos Of Two Thousands"

^hardly. The agonist is actually within my definition of Metal, while Flyleaf to me, is just a slightly better Evanescence, more like Hard rock with some screaming(?). The girl I'm talking about actually SCREAMS like traditional Metal nowadays does. Plus her singing voice is ten times better imo.
btw, does the chick in Flyleaf have a lisp? I like the song So Sick, but every time I listen to it, it sounds like she does, and I just start laughing. "I'm tho thick!"

Just for your information b**** I'm not looking to turn you on. Just want to let you know that yes, i fact you DID spell multiple words wrong, both of which were taken out of my post. " 'intellegent' rebuttle". Might have been too much effort for you to check out. Also you managed to spell masturbate wrong also. New invention called the dictionary, check it out. Possibly between your next whacking session, or before your needled***ed cousin comes back to give it to ya.
And as for godboy, I'm well beyond 18 and have no problem coming and kicking your ass. That is if I would EVER voluntarily travel to Iowa. If you wanna start threatening you might wanna figure out who your f***ing with boyo, cause you won't walk away.
So for now, I'm done with both of you. Just keep your gapes shut when I post from now on.

Pudwacker, firstly FVCK OFF! You cant even come up with any better an argument with me than my spelling. You started the argument not only here, but you were a total d*** in the Bruce d***enson thread. You are nothing but a troll. One of the lowest form of life on Earth!

Godlike, what do you think of Abby from NCIS? EVERYONE says I look ust like her, but I just dont see it. I would also think that Pudwhacker would not want to mess with a Swedish and Spanish Basque woman. We dont know the word "mercy" when it comes to our enemies!

230 - LOL
Kali - yeah I can see the possiblity of a resemblence to Abby on NCIS.. thats only going by the pictures Ive seen of ya...... Im assuming your tattoos are real, and the wardrobe you wear is by choice and not for a job..??

Hahaha! Exactly Godlike. I have customers that actually call me Abby! They scream it out and I am just working away not thinking they are talking to me. I end up thinking they are nts as I am the only female around. Then when I realize they are I am going "erm... my name is Elizabeth."
Hey ZT, how goes it?
