Children Of Bodom's Blooddrunk Tops Finnish Charts

Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM have topped the album chart in their home country with their latest release, "Blooddrunk". The video for the CD's title track, which was produced by Katapult Filmproduktion, can be viewed below. The clip was shot in the former Nazi barracks in Krampnitz in the vicinity of Berlin, Germany, where the Russian army was stationed before the German reunion.
"Blooddrunk" was certified gold in Finland (for sales in excess of 15,000 copies) on pre-sales alone — before it was even officially released — a first for the band.
The CD was released in North America on April 15 via Spinefarm/Fontana International.

Some of you need to think about what you're saying. Better then AYDY? Of course it's going to be better. That was a sh**ty album by all means. This album was just above average and sure as hell didn't deserve to top any charts. IT just goes to show that Bodom is completely mainstream and can sell even when they aren't good anymore

Blooddrunk is a great album. I don't think it's Bodom's best, but it's definetly close. I thought AYDY was an awesome record, too. Sure, it wasn't super technical or neo-classical, it had more of a thrash edge, but that's to be expected from a band that's been around for over 10 years. Every album isn't going to sound exactly the same. The older Bodom fans who like the neo-classical stuff can listen to Something Wild and Hatebreeder, and the newer fans who are into the simpler, heavier music, can listen to AYDY and Blooddrunk. It's good to see Bodom getting some recognition for their fantastic work. Keep it up, Hate Crew!!
