Sevendust Reveal Album Release Date & Tracklisting

SEVENDUST are set to release their seventh studio album, Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow, on April 1st.

Hope & Sorrow was produced by Sean Groove, Morgan Rose and John Connolly in Atlanta, GA at Tree Sounds Studios. The release will be their second on the band’s wholly owned record label, 7Bros. Records under Warner Music Group.

For the first time since Animosity (2001), the band has collaborated with outside artists. As the record gets finalized over the next few weeks, identities of the guest appearances will surface - Sevendust felt bringing in some outside friends added a healthy dynamic for the project. Additionally, the band has signed on new management and feels like is a fresh new beginning for 2008!

"It was a challenging and exciting to write. We've spent so much time with angst over our career that is was nice to in a good head space for a change while working on this project." - Morgan Rose, drums

"There was a really relaxed vibe in the studio this time around. I think Hope and Sorrow shows a different side of Sevendust. Heavy but yet still growing in a direction that explores a lot of different things musically for us. I'm excited about the album." - LaJon Witherspoon, vocals

Confirmed tracklisting: 'Inside', 'Enough', 'Hope', 'Scapegoat', 'Fear', 'The Past', 'Prodigal Son', 'Lifeless', 'Sorrow', 'Contradiction', 'Walk Away'.

Next to Katatonia, one of my favorite heavy-rock acts.

I've been backing this band since the Strangeland soundtrack came out in '98. Always fun live and very high energy. They tie with Metallica for band I've seen live the most (4 times each).

Now Playing: Tool - "Lateralus"

In all fairness there, post 1 had a good point. I made a mistake when reporting this and the first sentence hadn't gone with the article. Obviously it's since been edited.

I am divided when it comes to Sevendust- on the one hand, Animosity and Home were absolutely brilliant. On the other, everything since has just been 'Animosity Mark II' and 'III' and so on... What was Seasons? I think they were actually the exact same songs as Animosity, hahah. Changed the vocals and put out a new album. I mean, there have been some changes from record to record, but overall, each record has sounded way too exactly like the previous ones for me. I heard one song from 'Next' on the net, and decided then and there I was done caring about Sevendust. Someone let me know if they ever put out something different, hahah.

Now Playing: The Cure - "Killing An Arab"

Geee, how did I know 7dustrules would post in here? *lol* I am divided aswell with Sevendust. To me they are not the greatest, but much better than the other nu metal (yes I know their classification is not really nu metal) that has come out.

In my opinion Psythe, Alpha is really good. I agree with you, Seasons and Next seemed to be "we need to put out an album" types, although both have their singular gems. This new one might be a bit of a remake though.
