Devildriver have been added to Metal Hammer’s metal-as-fuck Defenders Of The Faith tour. Running from April 23-26, the tour already features Swedish brethren (and one German sister) Opeth, Arch Enemy and 3 Inches Of Blood.

Get tickets here

The tour dates and numbers to call tickets are as follows:
April 23 – Birmingham Academy 0870 771 2000,
April 24 – Glasgow Barrowlands 0870 0100,
April 25 – Manchester Academy 0870 771 2000,
April 26 – London Academy 0870 771 2000.

“I’m stoked as hell,” admitted Devildriver frontman Dez Fafara. ”There are such different bands on the bill – such different styles of music. I think it’s great to go to a bill like that, so it should make for a great night.” It seems only right that Devildriver be invited aboard the Defenders Of The Faith tour, with Dez’s stalwart metal lineage, from Coal Chamber to The ‘Driver – never straying from the path.

Never straying from the path my ass. Coal Chamber was a piece of Nu-Metal psuedo-goth garbage. Devil Driver might be better musically but Dez isn't all the popular metal world cracks him up to be.

I actually enjoyed both previous Devildriver CDs. The self-titled was OK. Fury of Our Maker's Hand was really good, however, and this last one was awesome!

That would be a great tour. I am very excited to see Devildriver this spring, especially since they are touring with Hate Eternal and Napalm Death.

Wow what an odd package....Devil Driver, Hate Eternal and Napalm Death....

I like all three, especially HE but I struggle to see how many fans share my taste. I could see Devil Driver and their fans getting mobbed/booed a bit, but thats just me.

Now Playing: Dethklok - "Mermaider" funny stuff...

Actually RM?, I have seen both Napalm and DD, and neither fans are people to f*** with. It might not be such a bad combination of people. So far, I enjoy all three bands alot myself, so it might be not all that rare to find those with "similar tastes". I'm just now moving out of more of the mainstream metalcore-ish genres of Metal and getting into more of the death and other more underground genres, and I listened to both of those bands awhile back. HE obviously is a newly acquired taste (thank you and cruor) but it really isnt ENTIRELY out there, so I belive the tour might actually draw in quite a few likeminded people. My tastes arent all that weird and different Ill admit it, I listen to a decent amount of mainstream, So I expect to see alot of moshpits filled with people who enjoy each others company.
Sorry if I rambled too much, kinda drunk lol if noone can tell sorry.

BTW, just saying, Devildriver has had the fiercest and most energy laden pits I've ever been a part of. I missed Nile at Ozfest bc I fell asleep after Ankla and DD. Wow was I p***ed, but still elated from being a part of the DD moshing, it was fun. If anyone wants to see me in one, Look up "WEST PALM BEACH OZZFEST 2007" ON YOUTUBE (click on a Devildriver pit video) and look for the blond hair, you see it twice, that's me.

On a side note, would'nt you expect more longhaired aryans at Metal concerts? I only saw like 5, us blonds are rarer than the black people honestly wtf.

Now Playing: Ironically, Dethklok- "Thunderhorse" One of my friends is playing it right now on Guitar hero. lol

Was not a fan of Coal Chamber myself, but Devil Driver was a tad better. Dez is a decent singer I think when he puts forth the effort. The problem is that he has the tendancy to be on the mediocre side I think. Opeth and Otep always good stuff in my world!

Call of Duty 4 is the best online alternative to Halo 3. So much fun. Anyway, The only reson I suggest that there would be clashing between fans of ND/HE and DD is because the death metal crowd can be spiked with elitists who express no tolerance for any music than there niche genre.

Hardcore fans---as a rule, are particularly vicious about their shows being polluted by metal...

Kalis wrath and f*** a Name
As for Otep, not my thing. She has one song on their first cd("Jonestown Tea") where the lyrics and vocals were so plaintive and "direct" and flatout frightening that I actually broke out in goose bumps at one point. Child abuse horror story, right in league with "Daddy" by Korn. S'f***ed up.

I've since listened to dozens of other songs by them and it all bored me to tears.

Kalis Wrath
Opeth is God. One of my top favorite bands ever.

Now Playing: Pig Destroyer - "Towering Flesh"

Well thank you F.A.N. RM?, when it comes to my appreciation of Otep it comes with the fact that unlike some women in the metal world she has some guts and can go from a seductive sound to a growl in 2 seconds flat. I also find that she can in my opinion write some decent lyrics. Jonestown tea is actually a song on Sevas Tra that I do skip due to the fact that it does kind of bother me. Opeth is excellent music. I had been leary of them as in a few interviews it had seemed that they had only money and selling out in mind. The last few I have read have shown that they are thinking about their art more. I am very glad of that as they rock and am now enjoying them alot more.

Rm? i understand perfectly all of that. i don't wonder when people don't like otep, just when they are fans like i am, i consider that weird and unusual. and yes CoD4 is amazing in every regard, jus didnt have it on me at the moment. every time i go from cod4 to Halo 3 i just get p***ed at the deteriation of gaming quality and maturity of players. just something to do.

As for the DD, Nd thing yes, absolutely i realize that as well in retrospect. glad actyally that you don't seem to be one of those "elitests". Most people in death Metal, among other genres, i meet these days seem to come across as such. Well, here's hoping that all goes well anyway in this concert.

Now Playing: eVol- "Marching toward Failure"

Please excuse typo's kinda drink off of like 14 or 15 Heineken's. Staring at the keyboard intently in order to type correctly. i know I typoed at least a few times.
