Killswitch Engage have posted their new video for the cover of Dio's Holy Diver online at this location

The video itself follows very much in the same vein as many Dio videos with swords and medieval frolics all around.

It wasn't bad until he started screaming. That is about where I stopped listening to it. I don't mind a band adding their own touches to a cover, but if you're going to cover something like Holy Diver, you'd better do it right. And yeah.. the video is bad. To be fair though, it bears a resemblance to the original Holy Diver video which is equally as bad.

I don't get doing covers like this, and I don't get going out of your way to make an expensive video for a song you didn't ever write even less. All this says to me is "We can't write decent songs of our own so here's someone elses". Covers can be great live, or if you really change things up (Sunn 0)))'s covers, Xasthur's, Spiral Architect's etc) but this is just redundant. To me anyway, could just be the fact I don't like this band haha. Result's pending.

I couldn't stop laughing after I watched the video. I think most bands should make video's like these. I don't know why, but I definitely have a soft spot for this band. I think they are hilarious, and they obviously don't take themselves seriously. I was questioning why Adam wasn't in the video, and then I saw him at the end.

They have cool riffs, and I haven't heard the original, but its not a bad song on its own. They are a goofy bunch of dudes so I don't really try to take them seriously.

Good cover IMO. It was funny and goofy, but if you ever watched the original Holy Diver video its goofy as well. KSE just added their own twist on it so it wasn't an insult to Dio. It just added some heavier elements, I don't see why everyone is sh**tin a brick over it.
