Max and Igor Cavalera Writing Together Again

According to Sirius Satellite Radio, brothers Max and Igor Cavalera are writing together again. According to Sirius, the new songs may include guest appearances by members of Napalm Death and Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo.

Igor Cavalera has been a free agent since he left Sepultura in June 2006 to work on personal issues. He was replaced by ex-Udora drummer Jean Dolabella.

In December 1996, following the tragic death of Max’s stepson, his bandmates — including his brother — tried to fire his wife and grieving manager Gloria Cavalera because they weren’t happy with the way she was handling the band’s business. Max viewed the move as an act of betrayal, quit the band and cut off contact with Igor until last year. Then on August 17 at the D-Low Memorial Festival in Tempe, Arizona, an event to honor the memory of Max’s late stepson, the guitarist and his brother took the stage to play two Sepultura songs, “Roots Bloody Roots” and “Attitude.”

Honestly, it's been 10+ years since Max wrote anything interesting, I'm a huge Sep fan but Roots part 2 is what you'd get if they reformed. And what about Green? Kicking him out after all his work would be a huge stab in the back.

I think that since both brothers left, Green won't be kicked out of Sep. I wanna see Sep with him before a reunion anyway

Awesome news, both for the music but for human reasons as well. I think it's a shame that 2 brothers were not talking anymore...as for Derek Green, sorry guys but I could care less if he was kicked out of sep. It's nothing personal really but I want the original lineup back...

this sh**'s going to be amazing. i'm honestly picturing nothing like sepultura. both cavalera's have had 10+ years to experiment, and now i see them going back to their thrash, death, and crust roots for this one! i've got my fingers crossed...

Are Max & Igor with Soulfly or Seplutura, or both?
Doesn't matter anyway, without both brothers, both bands suck.

Guest appearance by Rizzo (for shizzo my Rizzo)... Big W a n k!!!

All in all, this is excellent news and together they might just conjure up some music that's been waiting to happen since after ARISE!

Max will not become Sepultura again, Sepultura is dead and has been since he departed... As far as Derek Green is concerned, he's been running with a fake-ass band since he joined, so who actually gives a f u c k i n g f u c k as to what happens with the post Sepultura!!!

i love sepultura, i was upset when max declared the end of his vocal input and the disputes that went on and so forth i would love nothing more than the band to reunite and play in the true way of the past but with the newer albums, they lost that primitive tribal style and went a little too soft, although i love chaos ad and all ARISE and BENEATH THE REMAINS will always remain the best, for that pure aggressive metal edge and that in your face brazillian metal Legacy that they laid down in the past, i hate to sound cliche but most bands older stuff is better

ps... maybe derrick green could go to soulfly and max to sep! if they swapped maybe soulfy would sound a bit more aggressive... just an idea cos even though i like max more derrick is still good he just doesnt compare to max and his husky "NECROMANCER" voice
