Following two album playback events in New York and at Abbey Road in London, the track listing of the new Porcupine Tree album "Fear of a Blank Planet" has been revealed:

1. Fear of a Blank Planet (7.28)
2. My Ashes (5.07)
3. Anesthetize (17.42)
4. Sentimental (5.26)
5. Way Out of Here (7.37)
6. Sleep Together (7.28)

The album is set for April release through Roadrunner in Europe, Atlantic in the US, and WHD Entertainment in Japan. It's likely that both the stereo CD and 5.1 surround sound DVDA will be packaged together as standard.

Can't wait for this one!...

It's a short on songs like "The Sky Moves Sideways", but not as many long forms....Wilsons been pretty busy with Blackfield and his Ackerfeldt/Portnoy project.

When I saw them live and they played some new songs the first thing that same to my mind was a mix between "The Sky Moves Sideways", and "Deadwing". When you all hear this album you will know just what I mean. This is gonna be a great year for music releases. Just a month before this ablum comes out, the second Blackfield album is coming out. I'm sure this album, "Fear of a Black Planet" will not disapoint and will attract even more people to their sound and greatness. Oh and by the way the song "Anesthetize" was incredable live, and I can't wait to here what it sounds like on cd.

I'll get it the morning of the day of release, just like "In Absentia", "Deadwing" and all of the remastered versions of the classics (still waiting on Re-Lightbulb Sun).

Regarding the Blackfield II album, I'm thinking it's not going to have the cool, wide-open, minimalism of tracks like "Lullaby", "Scars" and (my favorite) "Glow". I like my metal dense but I love my non-metal music to as varied as possible and I'm thinking Blackfield II is going to be more rock oriented. It's still going to be great though.

The Wilson/Akerfeldt/Portnoy project is going to put the rest of my life on pause the day it comes out.

I'm "guessing" work is/has been underway on it recently. Given some headlines I've read since last fall up to last month.

Portnoy was talking about the project in the "near future" back in October. Opeth (Ackerfeldt is working on an unnamed project presently) and Dream Theatre are between records right now while Wilson has finished recording the new PT and Blackfield...

So it may actually be happening now, or wrapping soon in terms of recording...

Theres a pretty tight lid on it and honestly it could still be in zygote phase right now sooo....I dunno...I'm trying to be optimistic.
