System Of A Down Frontman Unsure of Band's Future

System of a Down's current "hiatus" could possibly turn into a permanent split according to front-man Serj Tankian. In an interview with Kerrang! magazine Tankian said:
"I honestly don't know if System of a Down are over or not. Maybe in a few years we'll want to make another album, or maybe we'll want to tour... It's impossible to tell right now."
The band announced the hiatus following their Ozzfest run earlier this year.

I understand that these guys might not be the best of friends anymore, and that they may have other projects they wish to pursue, but I'm going to out on a limb and say that nothing else these guys do musically will outdo what they've done in SOAD.
Still, I'd like to see what they come up with in the future.

Shut up, you can't even form coherent sentences. Your opinion doesn't matter if you can't voice it accordingly.
Anyways, I hope this isn't the end for SOAD, but if it is, it was a good run. Probably some of the most original and thoughtful musicians of our time. They are one for the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame.

hey screw you yeah there is such a thing called opinion so i'm gonna say mine.
what you say makes absolutely no sense. "band of chikens with there heads cut off playing instruments "? wow really creative. and if that sentence represent your intelligence then i should in form you that i was being sarcastic when i said you were creative.
anyway i hope they don't break up. they are one of the most creative and best bands out there at the moment.

Come on, there is such as difference as discussing a band's attributes without sputtering out pearls of wisdom like, "band of chikens with there heads cut off playing instruments ". Thanks a lot for that one. way to progress an argument.
As for SOAD, they seemed to just keep getting better and better with each album and I think it's a shame we may have seen the last of them, but it's their decision. I for one wouldn't want to coexist in a band with three guys I absolutely could not stand. So it's a logical move looking at it from the persprective of the band.

These guys have come with some interesting stuff. Some of it was really good inovative arrangements, so of it was just dumb. From the little I've seen, the singer and guitar player really don't seem to click. The singer is serious and politically minded (sometimes) and the guitarist is into dumb rockstar fun (seems all the time). MTV had some report about how the guitarist f***ed up a performance and cursed out the singer (on stage, into the mic). They were interesting. Hope they continue to put out music, together or solo...

hey the last two albums are decent. some sloppy but also some good ones.
and if you diss SOAD for lonely day then srew you. if cannibal corpse can release a song as gramatically horrific but still good "hammer smash face" then SOAD can sing the lyrics the most loneliest day of my life.

pleeeezz do not split up for good. if they want to pursue other projects there is nothing wrong with that but do not split up SOAD. Look what happend to Rage against the machine. rage was extraordinary and nothing they have done since can compare. audioslave suks compared to rage. pleez do not split up one of my favorite bands.

f*** SERJ BIN LADEN.. anyne who has ollowed undrground for the last two years has seen my heavily opinionated posts on serj, as he is a terrorist supporting c***sucker. ( here i go again, right?) oh well, i won't go into my usual long rant about serj, i'll just say that if hewould never be heard from again, the music world wold be a litte bit brighter...HIMMM!!!!

ahmmmmmm jnsguts. you really should read things fully before you make judgements.
This essay was written by Serj two days after the attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. It caused a lot of controversy, particularly because many readers seemed to miss the message. Please understand, this essay is not attempting to justify the 9/11 attacks. When it was published, many mistook Serj's intentions and consequently denounced him, but if you pay attention to this small excerpt, it is impossible to say that Serj tried to justify the 9/11 attacks:
...my belief is that the terror will multiply if concrete steps are not taken to sponsor peace in the middle east, NOW. This does not mean that we should not find the guilty party(s), Bin Laden, or whoever they may be, and not try them. Put simply, as long as a major injustice remains, violence precipitates to the surface of life.
Keep an open mind when reading. This essay is an attempt at analyzing both side of the conflict and advocating universal peace; in no way is it saying Osama bin Laden, the Taliban, al-Qaeda, or any other terrorist organization or regime had reason to commit such horrific, intolerable acts of blatant murder.
