Staind Post Cover of Tool's "Sober" Online

Staind have posted a cover of Tool's "Sober" in both Real Audio and Windows Media formats. The cover was recorded at New York's Hiro Ballroom and will be included on the bands upcoming CD, 'Staind: The Singles 1996-2006', and DVD, 'Staind: The Videos', which will be in stores on November 14th.

Staind, to me, is the empitome of you don't want to be as a creative band. They will forever have to produce tear jerking power ballads as opposed to anything interesting, which is just sad. They should have fought harder to maintain their sound and not continued to produce the same kinds of songs over and over, that's what ruined them.

They impressed me when they came out of the gate, they had an indie cd circulating and I got a burned copy when cdrs were still a new thing....
Still have it and it still plays, called "Tormented". Production is a mess but better than most band's indie debuts. I really did enjoy Dysfunction, that album turned me upside down for a couple days, it was angry-angst....Like Korn but more thought out, the rest of Staind had better chops too.
I havent cared about Staind since "13 Shades of Grey" lulled me to sleep when I was reviewing it for a college paper.

Any band who can make a compilation of SINGLES on a f***ing CD is the epitome of sellout. That's just me though.
