DIMMU BORGIR guitarist Silenoz has issued the following update on the songwriting sessions for the group's new album:

"After spending the last months in pre-production for our new, as-yet-untitled album, we're quite excited to say the least and look very much forward to finally start the recording sessions once again with Fredrik Nordstrom at Fredman Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden in October. It will be a story-based album with lyrics written accordingly and music wise it'll be...let's see....hmmm... very DIMMU BORGIR! We can't wait to have this monster finished and share it with our fans as they have been extremely patient with us, but we promise - it'll be well worth all the wait!

"We'll be back with more news as things progress in the studio!"

DIMMU BORGIR's upcoming CD will feature a guest appearance by MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums.

"Sorgens Kammer - Del II" is one of the new tracks included on the updated, re-recorded version of DIMMU BORGIR's 1996 album, "Stormblast", which was released in Europe in November via Nuclear Blast Records (the North American release followed in February). The album was completely re-recorded with producer Peter T?gtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN) and MAYHEM's Hellhammer on drums.

Death cukt armageddon is good no doubts here but for me its Spiritual black dimensions and THE best ever dimmu borgir song is "the insight and the catharsis" in my humble opinion besides any new dimmu borgir is awesome so i cannot f***ing wait........later

First of all, CoF owns Dimmu, but this band sure owns you-know-who.

I think it'd be cool if Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir did some collaboration on a track or two on either ones album. Dani and Shagraths vocals combined would be pretty cool. Spiritual Black Dimensions is a good album, but I like Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia the best.

There last album was kinda weak compared to their earlier stuff but I am down to hear the new stuff. And COF sucks compared to demon burger...I mean Dimmu Borgir. Dani Filth must have to smash his balls with a hammer to get that scream out.

Death Cult was good...Vredesbyrd, Cataclysm Children and Progenies comes to mind immediately but the rest of the album sort of bled together...

PEM is where the band peaked as far as I'm concerned. As far as symphonic black goes, that record was it....nail on the head, tactical nuke, surgical perfection....Not that this is much of a feat but the bands only popular compettion is COF and really they just pale to Dimmu on PEM.

I'd like another PEM or something unique...not DCA2...Hoping Hellhammer really brings it on this one.
