Death metal legends DEICIDE are famed for their long-lasting reputation of blasphemous lyrics, controversial circumstances, and Glen Benton’s upside cross bearing forehead. The Discovery Channel followed DEICIDE around for three days last year in an effort to unearth the mysteries of death metal culture and the staples of its’ community. The Discovery Channel is known for its’ envelope pushing programming that dissects elements of life and culture to present educational, informative views that leave viewers with an insightful perspective. Continuing in that tradition, The Discovery Channel will present DEICIDE in “Death Metal Music,” a program which documents death metal culture and provides insight into the lives and musical inspiration of DEICIDE.

You can check here to find out what time “Death Metal Music” will be aired near you.

I JUST FINISHED WATCHING, AND ITS PRETTY INTERESTING. IT'S RIGHT WHAT THE PROFFESOR GUY SAYS, "THERE ARE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC AND AREN'T GOING AROUND KILLING PEOPLE..." OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I TRULY BELIEVE MUSIC IS JUST MUSIC. IT'S AN ART FORM.
(SIDE NOTE, THEY CONSIDERED SLAYER DEATH METAL ON THE SHOW. I WOULD SAY THAT THEY'RE THRASH.)

I love how the main similarity in both murder cases was the fact that young kids were running around and the parents were oblivious. Can't blame the music for the parent's own lack of guidance. Look at that norwegian kid, his parents were involved, and he was doing just fine.

I thought it was pretty interesting as well. But you have to look at the parents who are completely oblivious to what their kids are doing and use music as an excuse for their poor parenting. Too bad they didn't interview Tom Araya, I would have loved to hear him flip out.

Check out "Metal : A Headbangers Journey" for a kick a$$ metal documentary. The lead singer of Gorgoroth seems like he truly believes what he is saying. As the parent of a 7 year-old and lifelong metal fan it is completely up to the parents to find out what their kids are into and explain to them the difference between real and image. That said my daughter loves the new Slayer, she can't understand the lyrics but she bangs her head untill it is about to fall off.

Well, I would guess that most, and I say most, NOT ALL, I repeat NOT ALL those into death, black, thrash, goth, or anything related are not Christian. Ok, ok, I don't want to get into a big religious argument with anyone out there but isn't it true that if you are truly into this type of music that you are more likely to dabble in drugs, profanity, pornography, just anything that is not good but that leans toward an evil side? The occult and satinism is surely included. I don't know about anyone else, but I want to do my best and live as clean a life as possible because I know that this life is not all there is. My body will certainly die, but not my spirit, and I DO NOT want to spend eternity in an unpleasant place.

deicide is an overratted death metal band, out of all the florida death metal bands they are certainy the worst,i didn't see this documentary but the headbangers journey one was allright, the black metal part in bergen with ghaal and isahn was badass to bad they didn't spend more time on that and no the gayass glam metal horsesh**. now concerned there is no such thing as heaven there is no such thing as hell, dont argue the moral values of music because it is illogical, most ppl listen to it for the musicianship and the aggression it proclaims, it is an art form not a doctrine. christianity however is a plague and has killed more ppl in the name of "god" than any satanist or occulist movement ever will, if u want to talk about a dangerous and volitile subject focus on your own intolerant beliefs.

The problem is the need to be different. All these f***en losers listening to this death metal bullsh**, want to piss their religous parents off or they are just looking to be different from everyone. What they need to do is listen to their f***en parents, and quit listening to music that doesnt give a sh** about its fans. Death metal thinks its hardcore when a fan dies, or their fans form a cult, it makes them seem harder and have a scarier image when that sh** happens.

f*** death, black, and any other kind of bullsh** music that stands for nothing and destroys its fans.

KORNDOG, you know how you and your fellow korn fans always get on me because I allegedly Don't know the facts...Well here is another scenario...Death, Black and all the other "bullsh** music" in your words, its not bullsh**....The bands in the genres are like any others, they wanna get big, make the money, and they wanna play the music they like playing...If stupid fans wanna make cults and sh** based on them, then thats their stupidity, not the artists in question
