Dan Swano announced that defunct Swedish band Edge of Sanity has re-issued the band's 1990 Demo "Kur-Nu-Gi-A" on picture vinyl. The release can be purchased through Black Mark at this location.
Swano commented "I always felt we 'grew up' a bit too fast. We got caught up in the growing death metal scene and tuned down the guitars and bought the 'right' distortion pedals and tried to be the new Entombed.
"This demo showcase[s] the original sound of Edge of Sanity. During this period we still listened a lot to progressive and challenging metal of all kinds and I still believe the songs have their own true version on this tape.
"I transferred the original 4 track cassette masters, using state of the art digital technology, and remixed them and finally gave them the sound I dream t of giving them 21 years ago.
"The dream of having this classic recording released on a 12" picture disc have come true.
"While digging in the vaults, I found a lot more interesting stuff, so expect more 'post mortem' releases from Edge Of Sanity. You can't live forever - but can you be dead forever??"
Singer Paul Kuhr of Chicago's NOVEMBERS DOOM has issued the following update:
"On July 5th, 2008 at the Biebob Club in Vosselaar, Belgium, NOVEMBERS DOOM returns to perform, and this time we're bringing along our good friend Dan Swanö and his band NIGHTINGALE!"
"We're extremely excited about this show and are proud to give the fans in the Benelux area the opportunity to see NIGHTINGALE live. Dan has mentioned to me he has not performed in Belgium in 17 years, last with EDGE OF SANITY and he himself cannot wait to return once again!"
"This is going to be a huge night. We realize there are options one week after Graspop, with other shows in the area at the same time, but no one has a more unique opportunity for the evening, and we would suggest you buy your tickets for the show early. They might not last long for this one!" More...

It will be released on September 27th through Century Media. The title will also be available on the same day as a limited edition vinyl LP.
Guitarist Nyström comments:
"After being resurrected through carnage our nightmares made flesh! This time we promise the world an even more brutal and varied piece of real and pure death metal. Take the outstanding performances by the new members Axe and Tägtgren into account and Bloodbath will prove no longer only to be a tribute to death metal; but also death metal's very own elite."

BLOODBATH, the band featuring Mikael Åkerfeldt (OPETH), Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström and Jonas Renkse from KATATONIA, Dan Swanö (Nightingale, EDGE OF SANITY) have issued the following message through the Forum section of their official website:
First of all, hope you're pleased with a new and individual forum for Bloodbath. It was the right time to make one 'cuz the band is BAKK!!!
Yeah, we're currently fueling up for another lap in the death metal lane as the band has now begun writing the material for the follow-up to Resurrection Through Carnage with the studio being booked for late spring.
Now, there has been some relevant changes in the line-up. Vocalist Mike Åkerfeldt has been kicked out and a replacement is already found in one of the biggest names in the scene. Furthermore, drummer Dan Swanö has decided to step off at the death metal depot to switch instruments and is now sharing guitar duties with me. Taking over the drums, is yet another big big name. Jonas Renkse is still keepin the decay and pulse behind the bass and is leading the race of gathering pile after pile with sick and dark lyrics.
As for the new members, their secret names will be revealed soon. A monster album is promised!!!”
