Background
Orange County, CA, based Bleeding Through was formed in 1998 under the name Breakneck, featuring Eighteen Visions' members Brandon Schieppati and Scott Danough. The band made its live debut as supporting act to Throwdown and Adamantium. Things were going well but some of the members wanted to go in a different direction and expand the hardcore sound to metal, so they changed their name to Bleeding Through and began writing new songs.
At the same time guitarist Javier Van Huss left and bassist Chad Tafolla took over his part. Bassist Marc Jackson was incorporated and the band released a 5- song demo. Marc then quit the band, so Bleeding Through recruited Vijay to play bass and added a brand new member- keyboardist Molly Street. Then they went to Doubletime Studios in San Diego to record the full length CD "'Dust to Ashes", which was released in March 2001. It was reckoned as a Cannibal Corpse, At The Gates and Hatebreed crossover and featured 5 new songs and all of the demo re- recorded.
In summer 2001, the band went through yet another lineup change- guitarist Chad left and Brian Leppke joined and Mick from 18 Visions took over the bass. Another album followed, "Portrait of the Goddess", released in 2002. The band then signed with New Jersey-based Trustkill Records.
Bleeding Through's third full length album "This Is Love, This Is Murderous" was released in September 2003 and received great response from fans and media. The following summer, the band was one of the second stage acts on Ozzfest 2004. Later on the same year, Bleeding Through was featured on Headbangers Ball Tour 2004, alongside Himsa, Arch Enemy and Cradle Of Filth.
After going through many member changes and finally finding the sound they wanted to create, the current lineup is: Brandan Schieppati (vocals), Brian Leppke (guitar), Scott Danough (guitar), Derek Youngsma (drums), Ryan Wombacher (bass) and Marta (keyboards).

Bleeding Through Sets Release Date For New Album
On September 30, Bleeding Through will unleash their latest album, "Declaration." According to the press release, "'Declaration' is heavier, darker, angrier, more pissed off, faster and more epic than anything in the band's already impressive catalog."
The followup to "The Truth" (2006) and "This is Love, This is Murderous" (2003), which have sold a combined quarter of a million albums worldwide, was produced by Devin Townsend in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Contrary to earlier reports of a conceptually driven album, Bleeding Through’s latest is their most diverse offering thematically, addressing a variety of topics on tracks like "There Was a Flood," "Germany" and "Death Anxiety."
Frontman and lyricist Brandan Scheippati has written one last song based on his angry heartbreaking muse, "Sister Charlatan," which closes the album and features the first ever vocal chorus contribution from virtuoso bass player Ryan Wombacher, who also co-wrote the experimental and dark "In Loving Memory of England." Keyboardist Marta is more present than ever throughout the music, including her directing of real strings and classical instrumentation.
"Declaration" is also the first album featuring guitarist Jona Weinhofen, who joined the band over a year ago after the breakup of his former group, I Killed The Prom Queen.
Bleeding Through is on tour with Bullet For My Valentine throughout the US and will support them in Europe through December as well.
Bleeding Through recently had a special edition of "The Truth" release, entitled "The Complete Truth." Bleeding Through Reveals Problems With Trustkill
Bleeding Through posted a guest blog on Headbanger's Blog announcing the song titles for their upcoming album, "Declaration," and revealing a relationship of disharmonies with their current label, Trustkill Records. Some excerpts from the blog follow:
It has been months and we have kept silent. But this latest slap in the face from our supposed record label has pushed us over the edge. We just read on the Internet that Josh Grabelle plans to release a “special edition” of our 2006 album “The Truth” one month before releasing our new album. Let it be known that Bleeding Through is 100% against this so-called “special” edition. We did not approve the title, cover artwork (whatever it is), track-listing or bonus features for this transparent and obvious cash-grab of a re-release from a record label that despite selling a quarter of a million of our albums worldwide is having problems.
Trustkill no longer employs his sales guy, his art director or his publicist. “Trustkill” is now Josh and one employee in his basement, as far as we can tell. We have kept silent about the fact that we made our new album with a loan from our singer’s dad, a loan from our management and less than 25% of our recording fund from Trustkill. They breached our contract (not for the first time) on March 31st, 2008 when we hit the studio without proper funding and have failed to cure the breach.
Several labels have contacted Josh to help put out our album but he has jerked most of them around and has not come to terms on a deal to get this album out, which we are SO proud of, with the push it deserves. As of right now we have no idea who is supposed to be releasing our album overseas, or even really in the US for that matter. Josh’s website says our album is coming out in August but he hasn’t paid for it so we don’t see how that’s possible. For years now, we’ve watched photographers, graphic designers, equipment companies, bus companies and producers struggle to get paid their invoices and wait for months and months before being compensated for their work.
In better news, here are the song titles (for the first time anywhere) from DECLARATION, which we hope actually comes out someday! We want you all to hear it so bad. We know Trustkill doesn’t have the resources to get it out there and we’re prepared for low sales as a result, BUT, there’s NO WAY we’re handing over a master without the minimum money that was due to everyone so we can pay off Devin (Townsend, producer for 'Declaration'), Brandan’s dad, our manager and credit cards.
Josh PROVE US WRONG by meeting your obligations, or LET US OFF YOUR RECORD LABEL ENTIRELY.

Bleeding Through Announce New Album Title
Orange County, California's BLEEDING THROUGH has set "Declaration" as the title of its fifth studio album, tentatively due in August via Trustkill Records. The follow-up to 2006's "The Truth" will be recorded beginning late March with producer Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, LAMB OF GOD, SOILWORK, DARKEST HOUR) and is said to be a "concept album" about the rigors of being away from home.
"Every song will be named after a different city or state," BLEEDING THROUGH frontman Brandan Schieppati tells Revolver in the magazine's May 2008 issue. "There are definitely places when we're traveling where every time we go there, we're like, 'Fuck, why do we have to be here?' Like, we'll be in France and all of a sudden we'll feel totally insignificant. You get the feeling that people's eyes are just burining a hole through you."
According to Schieppati, "Declaration" will be heavier than its predecessor. "I think it bridges the gap between 'The Truth' and [2003's] 'This Is Love, This Is Murderous'," he tells Revolver. "The melodies are darker, the riffs are heavier. We just wrote a really aggressive record that encompasses everything we've ever tried to do as a band and then raised the bar a notch or two."
