Last Known Status: Active
Orange County, CA, based Bleeding Through was formed in 1998 under the name Breakneck, featuring Eighteen Visions' members Brandon Schieppati and Scott Danough. The band made its live debut as supporting act to Throwdown and Adamantium. Things were going well but some of the members wanted to go in a different direction and expand the hardcore sound to metal, so they changed their name to Bleeding Through and began writing new songs.
At the same time guitarist Javier Van Huss left and bassist Chad Tafolla took over his part. Bassist Marc Jackson was incorporated and the band released a 5- song demo. Marc then quit the band, so Bleeding Through recruited Vijay to play bass and added a brand new member- keyboardist Molly Street. Then they went to Doubletime Studios in San Diego to record the full length CD "'Dust to Ashes", which was released in March 2001. It was reckoned as a Cannibal Corpse, At The Gates and Hatebreed crossover and featured 5 new songs and all of the demo re- recorded.
In summer 2001, the band went through yet another lineup change- guitarist Chad left and Brian Leppke joined and Mick from 18 Visions took over the bass. Another album followed, "Portrait of the Goddess", released in 2002. The band then signed with New Jersey-based Trustkill Records.
Bleeding Through's third full length album "This Is Love, This Is Murderous" was released in September 2003 and received great response from fans and media. The following summer, the band was one of the second stage acts on Ozzfest 2004. Later on the same year, Bleeding Through was featured on Headbangers Ball Tour 2004, alongside Himsa, Arch Enemy and Cradle Of Filth.
After going through many member changes and finally finding the sound they wanted to create, the current lineup is: Brandan Schieppati (vocals), Brian Leppke (guitar), Scott Danough (guitar), Derek Youngsma (drums), Ryan Wombacher (bass) and Marta (keyboards).

BLEEDING THROUGH's breakthrough album, "This Is Love…This Is Murderous", has surpassed over 100,000 albums scanned. The hard-touring Orange County, CA sextet learned the good news while in the midst of headlining the second annual Strhess Tour. The tour, sponsored by famed artist Derek Hess, features BLEEDING THROUGH with support from ZAO, DARKEST HOUR, MISERY SIGNALS and FIGHT PARIS. Even in the midst of all these big ticket outdoor summer tours, BLEEDING THROUGH has drawn sold out and capacity crowds every night. Since the release of "This Is Love…This Is Murderous" in late 2003, BLEEDING THROUGH have been on the road with no longer than two weeks off at a time. Stints with A.F.I., two headlining tours, co-headlining the "MTV Headbanger's Ball" tour with CRADLE OF FILTH and Ozzfest, as well as tours of Europe, Japan and Australia, have cemented the band's place at the top of the hardcore and metal groups of today.
"This Is Love…This Is Murderous" marked the band's debut for Trustkill Records and also was the first album with BLEEDING THROUGH as a full-time endeavor. The album also debuted a more melodic and fuller element to the band's European metal-influenced brand of hardcore.
Following Strhess, BLEEDING THROUGH and ZAO will join the Vans Warped Tour for its final two weeks through the East Coast. After that, BLEEDING THROUGH will complete work on their follow-up to "This Is Love…This Is Murderous" with producer Rob Caggiano (CRADLE OF FILTH) for a January 10, 2006 release. The group are also working on a career-spanning DVD that will feature new interviews, behind-the-scenes and backstage tour footage, two full live sets, and live versions of three new songs from "The Truth" for a fall release.
Terror are currently in Europe on tour. The band will return to the U.S. next week, then join the Sounds Of The Underground tour for two weeks on July 15th. August plans include performing at Hellfest and filming a new video, the details of which have yet to be announced. In September Terror will tour Japan for ten days before hooking up with Converge for a two-week Canadian tour. Immediately following that trek, the band will tour briefly in mid-October with Donnybrook. Finally, Terror will then hit the road for a five week, full U.S. tour with Shadows Fall, Fear Factory, and Bleeding Through. Meanwhile, in December the group will finish writing their next album for Trustkill Records, which will be recorded this winter.
It’s that time of year again- birds are chirping, trees are blossoming, the city’s Crowne Plaza Hotel is bombarded with numerous metal parties. And, of course, the local businesses in Worcester, MA hand out flyers that read “Dear metalheads (!!!), if you’re wondering where to get drunk tonight, come to our pub”.
It’s the New England Metal Fest weekend, which was held on April 22-24 and welcomed fans from all corners of the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and even UK. Probably the biggest and best festival on this side of the Atlantic. At least this year’s. I was giddy with excitement about this event since January and I lived to share my observations and opinions. More...
Bleeding Through have entered the studio to begin work on "The Truth," this year's much-buzzed about follow-up to the band's breakthrough album, "This is Love, This is Murderous," which was issued by Trustkill in 2003.
"It's going to be a brutal, pissed off record that will be much more blunt and direct in its lyrics, sound, and presentation," explained singer Brandan Schieppati. Bleeding Through spent all of January at home in Orange County working on material, pausing for their first headlining tour of Europe in February, before resuming work for the entire month of March and into early April. "The music is a bit more simplified, the songs are somewhat shorter, and it's all much more to the point," Schieppati added.
New tracks include: "Love In Slow Motion," "Tragedy Of Empty Streets," "Hollywood Prison," "A Line In The Sand," and "The Truth." Fans who caught the band's performance at this year's New England Metal and Hardcore Festival were treated to some new material; there will be more at this weekend's Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey.
The band chose producer Rob Caggiano (Cradle Of Filth) to help them execute their vision. Work began in earnest this week at Los Angeles' Cherokee Studios (Guns N' Roses, David Bowie, Michael Jackson's Thriller) and will continue at various studios throughout Southern California until the end of May.
Bleeding Through will tour Japan and Australia for the first time in June, venturing back to the UK for a week of shows with Zao and stopping over for appearances at both the Fury (France) and Pressure (Germany) festivals.
The following month sees the start of this year's Strhess Tour, which will be headlined by Bleeding Through, with support coming from Darkest Hour, Zao, Misery Signals and Fight Paris. After that the band can be seen in the South and East Coast during their two-week stint on the Warped Tour. The Truth is scheduled for release this fall through Trustkill.

Arch Enemy has issued the following statement regarding their cancelled show with Cradle of Filth at the Irving Plaza, New York on Dec. 14:
We're here at the Irving Plaza as you know, and we've just been given some devastating news. The show has been cancelled tonight, due to reasons entirely beyond our control. We have been told that Dani from Cradle of Filth has been taken ill and they cannot do the show tonight. When the promoter found out, he decided to pull the entire show, even though Arch Enemy was more than ready and to go ahead and just play the show anyway. We talked with our friends in Bleeding Through and Himsa and they thought the same as us - we all wanted to play.
We are totally, totally gutted about this. We cannot believe this decision from the promoter, but we've been told there is NOTHING we (or anybody else) can do about it. Worst of all, it's a sold out show, so we know how many people will be disappointed. The guys from Himsa even got on the phone to other promoters and venues in the area, to see if we could all go and play a three band show somewhere else, but with such short notice it just isn't happening.
I just don't know what else to say, we are all sitting here stunned right now. This has been one of our best ever US tours, and to end it like this, totally powerless, just SUCKS BEYOND BELIEF!! We are so on fire right now, the last week of shows have been amazing, this one was shaping up to be even better! Talk about a total let-down.
As you can imagine it's total chaos at the venue right now, I'm gonna get kicked off this machine soon - no doubt there'll be more on this subject from me soon but as you know we're flying to London in the morning for our big show (at least there's still that to look forward to)! Anyway, just wanted to say 'sorry' to all our fans in NYC who were coming along to see us; I'm sure you'll understand that there was nothing we could do here, but we will be back to see you next year...

How are things going on the road for Cradle Of Filth? The band is currently touring the US in support of their latest release, "Nymphetamine"...and bassist Dave Pybus writes in with the following:

The queue was winding around the corner when I arrived at The Palladium. It was around 7 and the venue was already packed. I was amazed to find out that the crowd was predominantly made up of hardcore kids. I saw only a few painted faces here and there. I remember thinking during the day that it's a very brave decision on behalf of the organizers to mix black metal and hardcore fans and I was convinced ( judging from my overseas experience) that a bunch of fights would ensue. Fortunately, this didn't happen. The American fans seemed tolerant of other people's musical tastes. More...
The two people that were allegedly stabbed by a security guard at the Cradle of Filth concert in Cincinnati Monday night (Nov. 8) have been identified as Chris Alsip, the frontman of the Ohio-based brutal straight-edge hardcore band Suffocate Faster, and James Shestina, 18, of Athens, according to The Enquirer.
Police say Donald Germany (photo), 21, a University of Cincinnati defensive end and special teams player on a scholarship, pulled out a knife and stabbed the two men. Neither of the victims was seriously hurt. More...
