My Ruin To Shoot New Music Video

L.A. act My Ruin has issued the following announcement about rehearsing for upcoming live shows and a new music video:

"Dear Friends - After a brief hiccup following our 'Southern Revelation' tour we are happy to announce that we're back in the studio rehearsing again and would like to [re]introduce our new drummer and long time friend Marcelo Palomino.

"Many of you will be familiar with Celo from his days we spent together in Manhole/Tura Satana but he also toured with My Ruin in 1999 and again 2008 when we recorded our live DVD 'Alive On The Other Side.'

"Our most recent collaboration has been behind the scenes for My Ruin's latest video 'Tennessee Elegy' which he filmed and co directed with me & Tor Burrows. It's great to have Celo back with us. It feels like home. At the moment he's getting familiar with our last two albums and Mick, Luciano & I are all looking forward to playing live with him soon and shooting our next video!

"Here's a live video we shot during the last show he played with us a few years ago in Los Angeles." More...

My Ruin Issues Road Report

Los Angeles based act My Ruin has checked in from the road with the following tour report:

"The shows have been getting better and better with the intensity of the band and fans together. We rocked the the hell out of Legends in Newcastle and I really enjoyed being able to finally watch all the sets of Long Day Fear, Sanctorum & Godsized as they each killed it with their own brands of rock & metal to warm up the stage before ours. Met so many sweet fans after the show and had an amazing huge handmade and heartfelt gift given to me and the Mick before it by one of my most beautiful and blasphemous girls Alexandra Morgan and her fiance Noah Remmer which I will be posting a photo of soon. It simply blew us away!

"Mick & I did an amazing photo shoot with the lovely Miss Kayla Wren of Skin Deep Magazine which you can see a teaser of in this post. This lady was such a pleasure to shoot with and a true artist behind the lens. Can't wait to work with her again! Also took some fun band shots with Lisa Marie Patterson, Louise Mallen and Aaron Sly of Sanctorum who is a killer photographer and really knows how to 'tech that shit!' ;) Both Aaron and drummer Matt Alston have been helping me document this tour with photos and videos which we will be uploading and sharing as soon I promise! Been so busy before and after the shows. More...

My Ruin Recruits Touring Bassist

Los Angeles act My Ruin has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting session bassist Eddie Brnabic for upcoming live shows:

"It's with heavy hearts we have to let you know part that our bass player Luciano Ferrea will not be joining us on the tour. Luciano is from Argentina and although he has lived in the states for many years now and working towards becoming a legal citizen sometimes shit just happens. You can't control the government and unfortunately he had to deal with an unexpected issue that arose regarding his citizenship with immigration.

"Although everything is now fine behind the scenes, we were told by his attorney that it would take a couple months to resolve and get his proper paperwork so his leaving the country for the tour would not be a good idea at this time. Needless to say, we were all very sad because we love Luciano and were all looking forward to him joining us for his second tour of UK and our one off in France. We explored every avenue but there was nothing we could do but find someone else to fill in because we obviously couldn't cancel the tour. Luciano will be with us in spirit and he will be with us at our upcoming shows stateside after the tour and next time we come back to Britain! He is still in My Ruin.

"That being said, we would like to introduce you all to Eddie Brnabic. Luciano has played with Eddie in Beggars Ball & Zappada and he is his very close friend. When Eddie kindly offered to stand in on bass, we graciously accepted to keep it in the family. We've known Eddie for a while now and he's a great guy not to mention an extremely talented a multi-instrumentalist similar to Mick. In fact they have a lot in common when it comes to music. Eddie began learning our set while we were on holiday in Tennessee and we've been quietly rehearsing and getting to know each other musically since we returned in the New Year. He's sounding rad and so is the set!

"On an interesting side note: he's also the very first dirty blonde we've had in the band. Speaking of firsts, this will be his first time touring the UK as well as our new drummer Isaac Lee's first time over so we hope all our friends and fans will welcome both our guys with open hearts and make them feel at home like you always make us feel. Please take a moment to add both Eddie and Isaac [if you haven't already] and send them some rock love. We recorded our last rehearsal and the band is on fire, ready to hit the stage with our special guests Godsized - Sanctorum & Long Day Fear. This is one heavy f**king bill so don't miss it!"

My Ruin Comments On Peter Steele's Death

Los Angeles rockers My Ruin have issued the following comments about the recent death of Type O Negative front man Peter Steele:

"When I heard the sad news that Peter Steele had passed away I really didn’t want to believe it was true because 48 is so young and when someone you know dies it really makes you think about your own mortality and how life can be cut short in a moment. It makes you think of a lot of things. I met Peter back in 1996 when my previous band ‘Manhole’ was asked to join Type O Negative on their October Rust tour along with Life of Agony. We spent 2 months rockin the USA together and a cold and grey skied month in Europe which ironically seemed to be the perfect backdrop for the tour at the time.

"From the first day I met Peter I thought he was so funny but not in the typical funny guy way. He had this self-deprecating sense of humor that was kind of unusual for a front man in rock and he was definitely not your usual lead singer. He never seemed to take himself too seriously for a majestic man whose 6’7 commanding presence could come off very intimidating to those who didn’t know him. I always found him to be nice and even a bit insecure on occasion even and I used to joke that he reminded me of the Wolfman, Frankenstein and Dracula all rolled up into one sinisterly handsome rockstar. I remember being on the road together and after shows people would to ask me to introduce them to him because they were afraid to approach him which I always found funny and so did he when I told him.

"Writers were always curious during interviews as to how he was treating me while on the tour because he had such a strange reputation when it came to women. Once when we were doing an on the road feature for Metal Hammer Magazine he came backstage and saw I was doing a photo shoot and decided he wanted to be in a few shots with me so we hammed it up together for the camera. Before meeting Peter, I remember thinking he was probably going to be a complete asshole to me but he was actually the total opposite and I was pleasantly surprised. He was very sweet and treated me with respect while on the road which meant a great deal to me at the time. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and would always let me use the kettle, mirror and bathroom in his dressing room before we went on stage if ours happened to be a shithole which it was on many nights. It may sound silly but it was little things like that which meant a lot to me as a woman on tour with a bunch of dudes. More...

My Ruin Post "Slide You The Horn" Video Online

Los Angeles rockers MY RUIN have recently posted a new song on the band's MySpace page. The track "Nothing Is Sacred" is taken from the group's latest album, "Throat Full Of Heart", which was produced by Mick Murphy and Duane Burda and released through the band's own imprint label Rovena Recordings via Cargo Records UK.

In other news, MY RUIN has posted a fourth music video from the new album for the song "Slide You The Horn". The clip was filmed by two longtime fans and friends of the band — Tor Burrows and Ryan Cork of Acid Pie Productions — with footage shot at the Carling Academy in Birmingham, England on MY RUIN's January Tell Your God Tour. Also available is a live video for the song "Burn The Witch", which was filmed at the Whisky A-Go Go in February 2008. Both clips feature guitarist Mick Murphy, bassist Chris Lisee and new drummer Marcelo Palomino, who was vocalist Tairrie B's former bandmate years ago in MANHOLE/TURA SATANA. More...

My Ruin Part With Drummer, Announce Replacement

MY RUIN frontwoman Tarrie B has issued the following update:

"Matt [LeChevalier, drums] is no longer in MY RUIN. Before you think what we KNOW you must be thinking, let me explain....because there are no hard feelings.

"Matt joined MY RUIN in 2005 right after we released our last album, 'The Brutal Language'. We were coming off a very long tour in the States with someone in our band who we needed to replace immediately. Matt spent two years with us touring, recording the new album and making our new video for 'Ready For Blood'. We always knew that his time with our band was limited because he is a French citizen and there were both visa and personal issues he had to deal with which had nothing to do with our band.

"Matt is an amazing drummer. He helped us to create the most personal and powerful album we have ever made. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and will always have a special place for him in our hearts and remember his time with MY RUIN fondly.

"Now it's time for our NEXT announcement.....

"For the past two months we have been in the studio rehearsing for our UK tour with someone very special to us (especially to ME!). Some of you may remember him and many of you are about to meet for the first time in January. His name is Marcelo Palomino. You might remember Celo as my former drummer in both MANHOLE and TURA SATANA. We have been friends for many years and over those years, he has become like a brother to me and is family to the band.

"When I started MY RUIN in 1999 I actually asked Celo to be my drummer as I toured the 'Speak & Destroy' album in the UK.

"It's funny how things have come around full circle.

"Celo is a killer drummer, always has been, and there is a connection than runs deeply between us musically. We grew up on the road touring together for many years all over the world. We had no idea what it would be like after so long apart but it feels natural with him playing in the band. Just cool and really fun for all of us. The band sounds tight and we're counting down the days.

"We hope this was a great surprise for everyone and you are all just as excited to see Marcelo on stage with us as we are having him. It's been great so far and our setlist is pretty intense. So get ready!!!"

Check out a photo of the new MY RUIN lineup at this location.

MY RUIN's new album, "Throat Full of Heart", is due this month via the band's own imprint label Rovena Recordings in association with Cargo Records UK. The CD was co-produced by MY RUIN guitarist Mick Murphy and Duane Burda. The disc also includes the music video for the song "Ready for Blood", directed by Ben Le Vine, with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video along with a mini-movie of MY RUIN with never-before-seen footage of the band in the studio during the recording sessions for the new album as well as a personal photo/video film created by Miss B, titled "Through The Wound", which documents her accident from the injury to her recovery this past year.

"Throat Full of Heart" track listing:

01. Ready For Blood
02. Memento Mori
03. Skeleton Key
04. Me Without You
05. Religiosity
06. Slide You The Horn

08. Dragon Steel
09. Nothing Is Sacred
10. Through The Wound

MY RUIN will hit the UK again in January 2008 for its "Tell Your God Tour" with special guests DIE SO FLUID and PLASTIC TOYS. Kicking off the trek will be a visual/listening record release party in honor of Tairrie B's birthday at The Fly Bar in London on January 18.

My Ruin Post New Song Online

Los Angeles-based hard rock band MY RUIN has released the video for its new song "Religiosity". The track comes off the group's new album, "Throat Full of Heart", due in January 2008 via the band's own imprint label Rovena Recordings in association with Cargo Records UK. The CD was co-produced by MY RUIN guitarist Mick Murphy and Duane Burda.

Nasty and Sinister, two guerrilla-style female filmakers from England (who shot and directed the MY RUIN video "Spilling Open" while travelling with the band and documenting their Brutal Language UK tour in early 2006) created the new video for "Religiosity" for the group's DVD, which is featured in the album's digipack edition. "We wanted this video to be totally different than our last one so we asked Nasty and Sinister, who have also created videos for our spoken-word side project THE LVRS and Mick's metal instrumental recordings 'Neanderthal' to edit something which would represent the song using various vintage stock footage and religious imagery instead of having the band actually perform," stated vocalist Miss B. "We really love what they came up with. [Even though] it might be misunderstood by some, it definitely fits the song and keeps with the theme of the new album which was very important to us as a band."

Watch the "Religiosity" video below.

My Ruin Post Another New Song Online

Los Angeles-based hard rock band MY RUIN has posted a new song, "Through The Wound", on the group's MySpace page. The track comes off MY RUIN's upcoming album, "Throat Full of Heart", which is set to be released in January 2008 on the band's own imprint label Rovena Recordings in association with Cargo Records UK. The CD was recorded at The Hobby Shop in Los Angeles and co-produced by MY RUIN guitarist Mick Murphy and producer/engineer Duane Burda.

According to vocalist Tairrie B, "Through The Wound" is a very personal song which was recorded only a few weeks after her car accident in late 2006. "I was still living in the moment in many ways, on heavy painkillers and not able to fully straighten my arm which was filled with staples from my surgery and skin graft at the time," she says. "I would be tracking vocals and my fingers would swell up and hand would go numb. It was all so surreal." More...
