Coffinworm Finishes New Album

Indianapolis doom metal abomination Coffinworm has completed work on upcoming w album "IV.I.VIII." Profound Lore Records comments:

"Four years after their 'When All Became None' debut, Coffinworm returns with an album that levels its predecessor with a much darker and brutal offering, one with more substance and depth respectively.

"Musically, the five piece have taken things that much further with 'IV.I.VIII' by incorporating a more twisted element to their songwriting, at times a bit more experimental and even progressive.

"Production wise, (once again handled by Sanford Parker) 'IV.I.VIII' presents a much stronger and more potent sound picture likewise, Sanford Parker even himself claiming 'IV.I.VIII' as the craziest recording he’s ever been associated with. Overall, 'IV.I.VIII' is a sonic testament to the imminent end times befallen upon the feeble mortal coil."

To officially be released March 18th and featuring artwork by Scott Shellhamer, the track listing is as follows:

1. Sympathectomy
2. Instant Death Syndrome
3. Black Tears
4. Lust vs. Vengeance

Coffinworm Finishes Recording New Album

Indianapolis, Indiana based blackened sludge metal act Coffinworm has completed work on the debut album “When All Became None." The album was recorded with the aid of Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Yob, Yakuza, Twilight, Krieg etc.) within the confines of Semaphore Studios and will be released in April, 2010. Profound Lore records has issued the following statement about the new album:

"The blasphemy and depravity that Coffinworm conjure is something that mirrors a diabolical mix of the sludge doom distortion madness of bands such as Eyehategod and Unearthly Trance, along with an added mix of unholy black metal to heighten the overall aesthetic, and of course giving a nod of respect to such old-school luminaries as Celtic Frost/Hellhamer, Bathory, and Autopsy respectively.

"Look for Coffinworm to bring their perversity at SXSW this year as they will bring nothing but destruction to the stage hosting the Profound Lore/20 Buck Spin showcase on March 19th. As well, Coffinworm have also been confirmed for a few other shows during SXSW. More details surrounding these other shows will be revealed shortly."

The track listing for “When All Became None” is as follows:

1. Blood Born Doom
2. Start Saving For Your Funeral
3. Strip Nude For Your Killer
4. Spitting In Infinity’s Asshole
5. High On The Reek Of Your Burning Remains
6. The Sadistic Rites Of Count Tabernacula
