Pestilence: Cover Artwork For "Hadeon" Cancelled
Pestilence and Hammerheart Records just issued the following announcement, concerning the artwork for the band's upcoming new release "Hadeon":
"Last week we proudly presented the artwork for “Hadeon”, the new album by legendary Death Metal band Pestilence.More...
This, in itself, fantastic artwork was created by Triple Seis, a company specialized in artwork for Metal bands (they did many artwork related things before we contacted them) based in Ecuador.
In the past months Patrick Mameli shared his thoughts on what “Hadeon” needed to look like when put into art, and Triple Seis created it.
Hammerheart Records made a contract and paid a pretty decent amount of money to become the owner of this artwork, so we could use it for all releases and products we wanted to use it on/for.
We were very pleased on how this turned out…
Then…
Upon its publication we started to receive messages that several parts of this artwork were stolen and copied into this design.
Pestilence Returns With "Hadeon"
In March 2018, Dutch death metal legends Pestilence will release the new album "Hadeon" via Hammerheart Records. The album's futuristic cover artwork and track listing have been revealed and can be viewed below.
Following up the re-issues of the classic Roadrunner albums on deluxe 2-CD and high quality LP, Pestilence is preparing for worldwide domination in 2018.
Aside from intensive touring around the globe, the main focus will be on the 8th studio-album since the band's inception in 1986. "Hadeon" is an all out death metal attack, in 13 tracks, combining Pestilence’s old school roots, their progressive trade-mark and a killer production, which will appeal to both old and new fans.
The fitting album artwork was created by Santiago Francisco Jaramillo from Triple Seis Design (Lock Up, Dying Fetus, Inquisition). The concept is based on a multi-layered reality, alien presence and negative frequencies.
Be prepared for "Hadeon" coming March 2018! The track listing is as follows:
1. Unholy Transcript
2. Non Physical Existent
3. Multi Dimensional

1985-1995: The Golden Age of Death Metal
Death should be credited with creating death metal, at least the old school style we recognize now, as they birthed the infamous Tampa, Florida sound. Bands such as Autopsy and Obituary—two of the forerunners—would not exist without Death. Death is not the true father of death metal, though. That distinction goes to Possessed. The California Bay Area group not only played a style of brutal, vicious metal, with loads of Satanic imagery, they also coined the term “death metal” on the “Seven Churches” album.
Around 1985, albums similar to “Slowly We Rot” (Obituary) and “Mental Funeral” (Autopsy) simply did not exist. Thrash was the fasted, craziest music around. Of course Possessed has already been mentioned, but the influence of Slayer, who obviously influenced Possessed, can not be under recognized. Where Possessed was different was they used a rougher production. Dark Angel, whose drummer, Gene Hoglan, would go on to be one of the most heralded drummers in the metal biz, certainly showed a good dose of Slayer in their sound. In the beginning, Slayer was nothing more than a faster, nefarious, more solo-oriented Venom protégé. More...

Pestilence Calling It Quits
Dutch death metal outfit Pestilence broke up in 1994 and reunited back in 2008 to release a succession of three full-length albums: "Resurrection Macabre," "Doctrine," and "Obsideo."
After that three album run, band leader Patrick Mameli has now announced Pestilence is once again disbanding. He comments:
"As of now, Pestilence is no longer active in recording new material. As a matter of fact, it's on a permanent hold, as I want to concentrate fully on my new project Necromorph.
"The style will be more brutal, more crazy, more tech, more futuristic and more death. I'm pretty sure all my fans will dig this! Please don't be sad about Pestilence. We've been holding the Pest flag strong for 25 years and we feel it's now done. I thank all my fans for being there and supporting us all the way.
"If there is any interest in Pestilence doing old school shows in the future, me and Patrick Uterwijk, will surely think about the options. I thanks all the Pestilence members since '86 for their musical talent and input.
"HAILZ TO THE FANS, we all love you. Now, let's give birth to NECROMORPH!" More...
Seth Announces European Tour
Black metal outfit Seth has announced a new spring European tour. The tour, which sees Seth play alongside technical death metal legends Pestilence, kicks off on April 24th in Drachten, The Netherlands, and will hit various European territories before ending on May 10th in Trier, Germany.
A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below. Seth is touring in support of latest album "The Howling Spirit," released in June 2013 via Season Of Mist.
The once-defunct band became reactivated following the 2012 re-release of the acclaimed 1998 debut "Les Blessures de I'Ame." The new version is remastered and includes two bonus tracks and brand new artwork.
Regarding the new incarnation of the band, band leader Heimoth issued the following statement: “This is some exceptional moment for us as we are now officially back on the very same label that released our first album in 98’ and I guess this truly makes our recent comeback even more worthwhile. Both parts have taken different directions for more than 10 years but we are thrilled to unveil ‘The Howling Spirit’ together. I personally feel this is a significant step forward born from the special relationship the band and SOM have had through the years.” More...
