Destruction Drummer To Miss Upcoming Tour Dates
Destruction drummer Vaaver will not be able to complete the band's upcoming North American tour with Sepultura and Arsis due to the birth of his second child.
Standing in for Vaaver will be longtime Primal Fear / Annihilator drummer (and current DuskMachine member), Randy Black. Destruction front man, Schmier, states:
“I've known Randy for many years. He’s a down to earth guy and a killer drummer! So when we thought about who could replace Vaaver on this North American tour, only a few drummers came to my mind and Randy was our first choice. Who else could do a stand-in job like this with a great attitude and amazing skills! It will be a great experience for us to play with such a powerhouse drummer and I’m sure Destruction fans will appreciate his performance as well!" More...

DuskMachine Reveals New Album Art
DuskMachine has checked in with the following update about the band's upcoming new album:
"Since the release of our second album is getting closer, it is about time to reveal the cover artwork and give you some info about it.
"The complete artwork was designed and painted by artist Eliran Kantor, best known for his amazing work for bands such as Testament (Dark roots of earth & The Formation of Damnation), Sodom (In war and pieces), Hatebreed (The divinity of purpose) and many more.
"The idea behind the concept art was to create an assembly manual for the DuskMachine, hand-drawn by a mad scientist. More details including the tracklist will follow soon." More...

DuskMachine Finishes New Demo
DuskMachine has checked in with the following announcement about finishing a new three track demo:
"Our 3-song demo CD is finally done, as you can see on the pic Joe took. Next, we will approach labels and hopefully find someone who is interested in releasing the soon to be completed album. We do not plan to sell the demos, as they are made for pure promotional reasons. Joe is back from a non-stop-6-month-lasting job and will finish the vocals plus some additional guitar parts in the next weeks. The final mix is now set for late October 2011, additional info - tracklist, artwork etc. - will follow in the near future.
"Also, a big thank you goes out to all the people who are following and supporting us over the time now. We are deeply sorry for this delay and please, believe us that we are suffering from it more than anyone else. But there are things that just happen and cannot be influenced by anyone of us. The wait will be worth it, for sure. The new songs, especially with Joes voice are a huge step forward and we cannot wait to release the album and play live. Rock on!"

DuskMachine Announces New Singer
German thrash metal band DuskMachine has announced their new singer as Joe Comeau. The band has issued the following update:
"The DuskMachine is very happy to present its new frontman: Joe Comeau."
"Most people will know Joe from his amazing work as a guitar-player for OVERKILL and singer for bands such as ANNIHILATOR, TAD MOROSE and LIEGE LORD. Being friends for several years, he joined almost immediately when we contacted him. Joe has already recorded several songs and his singing is incredible. You can call him "the voice". But let the man speak for himself:"
"Dear Friends and fellow Metalheads-
As I now begin a new musical journey, it is with great honor to not only be in a band with such awesome musicians, but great friends as well! I have played on stages all over the world with Randy and Russ in a previous band and I have known them all (including Nikolai) for a number of years. Great music is not only formed by complimenting each other musically, but by working together as a unit. It is about time that the four of us banded together to create some killer tunes and memories, which I promise to you is being done at this moment! I have remained quiet for too long. The time has come. The time is now. Let us crush."

Unearthing The Thrash Based Metal Underground
I’m going to let you all in on my dirty little metal secret: I don’t dig thrash. At all. Yeah, I know, how can it happen, right? Megadeth, Metallica, Testament, Anthrax, these are the bands that made metal in the ‘80s and ‘90s and brought an otherwise niche genre into the mainstream spot light. Despite their name recognition and commercial success, I just find I can’t sit through a whole thrash album without wishing something different was playing.
In this week’s edition of “Unearthing the Underground,” I’ll be going over bands that start with a base of thrash metal, or have a big thrash metal influence, but add in a variety of different styles. The thrash influenced bands this time around all either have big name members or have released several albums, but haven’t received a big following outside the underground yet.
DuskMachine
First off is Germany’s Duskmachine, which is essentially a thrash metal band, but also incorporates power metal, progressive metal, and some groove metal elements. Some of the band’s influences are undoubtedly brought in by members Russell Bergquist (ex-Annihilator) and Randy Black (Primal Fear, ex-Annihilator). Duskmachine last released an album in 2005, and split with former vocalist Mirko Prietzsch back in July. The band has yet to formally announce a replacement, and the last update from the group stated a new album would be mixed this coming October.
You can check out a series of DuskMachine songs via the band’s MySpace page, or listen to the songs “The Final Fall” and “The Maker’s Death” in the video clips that follow. More...
DuskMachine Issues Band Update
Germany's DuskMachine has checked in with the following update about the band's activity:
"It's been a while since the last update, but due to several reasons - and really important ones. First off all, we had to move out of our studio/rehearsal place which I owned for 13 years. This was major stress, because when you own a studio for such a long time, you bring a lot of shit in there - and all of it had to go out! A pain in the ass, just because of lacking toleranc . So fucking what.
"This kept us busy now for the last 6 months, but we finally found a new room which allows us to continue like before, meaning having the possibility to have a rehearsal place AND a studio at the same time. A little smaller, but anyway great to go back to business soon. Of course we'll have to move in first, which means more work. The other reason - as you might guess by reading the headlines - is that we have a new singer again. No, we don't like to switch singers every 2 years - it just happens! More...
DuskMachine Recording New Album
Germany's DuskMachine has issued the following update about working on a new album:
"The DuskMachine wishes all you good people out there a healthy, successful and happy new year 2010! You can also expect a new album from us, it's not clear yet when exactly, but we hope to be done with the recordings soon, then mix everything and check out interested labels. We will definitely keep you posted. As some of you might have noticed, our main website is down now for quite a while. There was absolutely no time yet to care about it for several reasons, but this will be done asap. In the meantime, please check for news and if necessary, contact us using our MySpace."
DuskMachine Issues Studio Update
German metal band, DuskMachine, has issued the following studio update:
"We'd just like to inform you that we're starting soon tracking the vocals. Rhythm and Clean-Guitars are done, Russ will start laying down the bass tracks in a studio in Vancouver, B.C. very soon. The whole recording process is quite a bit delayed due to the fact that 2 guys in the band have day-jobs that make a constant working on the album almost impossible. We also think that rushing thru it won't make it better, so we take the time it needs to work on it. But so far we're very pleased with the overall sound of the new material - it is exciting to hear it getting more complete when adding new instruments and parts. We hope the recordings will be done by late summer, then comes mixing and the usual search for interested labels/companies....still a long way to go.
Stay tuned for the new stuff!"
DuskMachine Issues Studio Update
Germany's DuskMachine have issued the following studio update:
"The drum recordings for DuskMachine's second album have finally begun. Today Randy played the first 2 songs from the 14 we plan to record. We have about 65 min. of music, but we will probably sort out some of the songs. The album will be recorded again in our 'Sound from below'-Studio and hopefully be done late summer. More info and pics from the recordings will be posted soon."
DuskMachine's current line up is as follows:
Mirko Prietzsch - Vocals
Nikolai Wurk - Guitars
Russell Bergquist - Bass (Annihilator)
Randy Black - Drums (Annihilator, Primal Fear, Rebellion)
