Baronness Announces North American Tour Dates

Savannah, GA’s Baroness has announced a month long North American tour alongside Clutch. The summer tour will kick off on July 9th and include a free show in Chicago, IL as part of the annual Kuma’s Corner Block Party.

Baroness has recently entered the studio to begin work on their second full length and follow up to 2007’s "Red Album." The band is working with the Grammy-nominated producer / engineer John Congleton (EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, THE POLYPHONIC SPREE, THE ROOTS, BUDDY MILES, BLACK MOUNTAIN) on the still untitled album. A fall 2009 release date is expected.

Clutch Readies Remastered Rarities Album

In addition to Clutch's upcoming album, "Strange Cousins From The West," the band is releasing a remastered version of "Slow Hole To China: Rare and Unreleased" on April 28th. The reissue, which will be available in stores for the first time, has been expanded to 15 tracks.

Clutch Reveals New Album Details

Southern rockers Clutch have announced that their new album will be titled "Strange Cousins From The West" and it will be released worldwide on July 7th. The album was recorded and mixed in March and April of 2009 with producer J Robbins at his Magpie Cage Studio in Baltimore, MD.

Sevendust And More Added To Download

The organizers of Britain's Download Festival has announced several more bands to perform at the event this year. Northern Irish rockers The Answer will be performing at the festival, as will Sevendust, Staind, Stone Gods, Shinedown, Static-X, Bring Me The Horizon, Fightstar, Volbeat, Go:Audio, Facecage and Auger Bane. The festival will be held at Donington Park between June 12th-14th.

Eight More Bands Confirmed For Download 2009

The organizers of Britain's Download Festival has announced a further eight bands for this years lineup. Two of Sweden's most acclaimed metal bands, Opeth and Meshuggah, have been added to the bill as well as Japanese rockers Dir En Grey. The underground British thrash metal jokers Lawnmower Deth have also been confirmed. American rock group Five Finger Death Punch will be appearing at the event as will Velvet Revolver/Ex-Guns N Roses bass player Duff McKagen with his new band Loaded. You Me At Six and Roadrunner Records latest signing, Steadlur.

Additional Bands Confirmed For Download 2009

Twelve more bands have been announced for this year's edition of Britain's Download Festival. New Orleans supergroup Down will be making their second appearance at the festival and they will be joined by Italian gothic metal group Lacuna Coil, legendary rockers Journey and former Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell. Also added to the bill are Tesla, Papa Roach, Clutch, Black Stone Cherry, Architects, Skin, Parkway Drive and Karma To Burn.

Clutch Added To Rock On the Range 2009 Fest

The Rock On The Range 2009 Festival organizers have announced the additions of CLUTCH and DUFF McKAGEN's LOADED. The last time that CLUTCH played in Columbus, it was a sold out show that many people could not get tickets to. Duff McKagen, founding member and bassist of Guns N Roses, will play the Rock On The Range Fest for the second time. Duff played as a member of Velvet Revolver at the first Rock On The Range Fest in 2007.

Clutch To Enter The Studio Next Month

Southern rockers Clutch will be entering Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore, Maryland on March 20th to record a brand new studio album. Producing the record will be J. Robbins, who produced Clutch's 2005 album "Robot Hive/Exodus." The album is scheduled to be released on June 30th through Weathermaker Records.

Horrorfest Soundtrack Details Revealed

Primary Wave Special Markets has announced the Horrorfest Soundtrack "8 Songs To Die For" featuring Ministry, Bleeding Through, Walls Of Jericho, Too Pure To Die, and more. The album was released on January 5th, 2009 on Amazon.com.

Debuting in 2006, Horrorfest, originally billed as 8 Films to Die For, is a one-week national film festival that celebrates all areas of the horror genre. In its first year, Horrorfest became the first film festival in history to break into the Top 10 at the national box office, grossing over $2.5 million with the film An American Haunting.

Based on the highly successful 8 Films To Die For series, Primary Wave will be releasing 8 Songs To Die For featuring songs inspired by the bloodcurdling movies that make up Horrorfest 2009 - the biggest horror film festival in the USA. The digital releases will include some of the best of metal and hardcore bands such as Clutch ("Mob Goes Wild"), Walls of Jericho ("The Prey"), Bleeding Through ("Death Anxiety"), Ministry ("Let's Go"), and Revolting Cocks ("Keys to the City"), among others.

The songs on the two soundtracks, were selected by Primary Wave's Jonathan Platt and Jonathan Miller who also produced by the successful Saw soundtracks.

Clutch Teams Up With MVD Distribution

For the past 8 weeks, Clutch's first ever DVD "Full Fathom Five, Video Field Recordings," and accompanying CD have been available at the band's legendary live shows, through Merch.com and in about 150 select US, Canadian and UK independent retail outlets chosen by the band's owned and self distributed Weathermaker Music label. This will increase ten-fold, as Weathermaker has teamed up with the MVD Entertainment Group to expand the reach of the "Full Fathom Five" project.

On November 11th, the acclaimed live Clutch DVD and accompanying "Full Fathom Five-Audio Field Recordings" CD will be available in over 1500 new retail outlets such as FYE, Best Buy, Coconuts, Fry's, Hastings and Barnes & Noble.

"This is a fantastic progression for us after only three months as an active label." states Weathermaker Music Label Manager Jon Nardachone. "Originally, our intention was to handle all CD and DVD sales directly through Weathermaker, but having the MVD Distribution team on board for the "Full Fathom Five" project ensures many ecstatic Clutch fans this holiday season."

In other Clutch related news, some of the incredible footage from the "Full Fathom Five" DVD will be featured on Comcast Cable's On Demand "Concert TV" channel starting December 15th, along with classic rock icons Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Black Crowes, Deep Purple, Santana, U2 & Motorhead.

Clutch's live concert footage was produced and directed by Agent Ogden (Primus, Jon Comer, Music With Altitude) in Pittsburgh, Sayerville, Denver and Sydney Austrailia on the band's 2007/2008 "From Beale Street to Oblivion" world tour. The track "Power Player" from that release, as well as "Full Fathom Five," is featured on the Saw V Motion Picture Soundtrack released last week.

Clutch is confirmed along with Thin Lizzy, Black Label Society and Hawkwind to play the Hard Rock Hell Festival on December 6th in North Wales. Upon returning home, they will headline a short run with Viking Skull and Russian Circles as support.

Russian Circles To Tour with Clutch, TAAS

Chicago's Russian Circles had a busy 2008, which included the release of their critically acclaimed new album, "Station" (Suicide Squeeze), touring non-stop with the likes of Daughters and Coheed and Cambria, and currently embarking on a massive European tour with friends and label-mates These Arms Are Snakes.

Rounding out the year, Russian Circles has announced plans to spend their holiday and New Year's festivities on the road with alternative rock legends, CLUTCH on their brief tour around the East Coast and Mid-West.

The Bakerton Group To Record New Album

Clutch side-project The Bakerton Group plans to entrer the studio next month to record their next full-length album. Here's the update from the band:

"We will be entering the Magpie Cage with producer/engineer J. Robbins on October 20th, 2008 to record our 2nd full length Bakerton Group album. After we finish, we will immediately begin working on the next Clutch album."

Opeth Keyboardist To Join Clutch For Four Shows

Clutch has posted the following announcement regarding Opeth's Per Wiberg joining them on stage:

"We are happy to announce that Opeth keyboardist, Per Wiberg, will join us for 4 shows beginning tonight in Sheffield, UK then on to Oxford, UK, Deventer, NL, and Malmo, SE."

As previously reported, Clutch will be returning to the U.S. to tour alongside the likes of The Sword and Graveyard in mid-September and into October.
