More Bands Added To Power Of The Riff Fest

The lineup for this year's installment of The Power Of The Riff West -- confirmed to take place at Los Angeles' Echo/Echoplex on August 11th -- expands yet again, adding six additional bands to the already pulverizing roster. Sunn 0))), Nausea (CA), Despise You, Hoax, Bio-Crisis and Xaphan have all been confirmed to join the party, making for a lineup of twenty-two crushing sets for the day.

The finalized lineup for the all-day The Power Of The Riff West now stands as: SUNN 0))), Off!, Dr. Know, Repulsion, Noothgrusth, Xibalba, Despise You, Eagle Twin, Nausea, Power Trip, Ancestors, Alpha & Omega, Bio-Crisis, Hoax, Gaza, DNF, Retox, The Love Below, Avon Ladies, Cops, Hordes, and Xaphan. The following press release was issued about the event:

"Continuing to bring you a tradition of heavy music from slow drones to aggressive crust ridden darkness, The Power Of The Riff will burn down LA on August 11th, marking the gathering's third annual installment. Co-curated and organized by Southern Lord, TPOTR is an event that honors extreme music fans and musicians of all ages, tapping into a lineup that represents the forefathers, milestones and current national touring acts, while shedding light on up-and-coming and local acts. The all-day fest also includes a record swap-meet of local stores and pop-up stores by indie record labels, DJ sets in between band performances and a gourmet food truck court featuring Los Angeles' best purveyors of street food dining."

Agoraphobic Nosebleed Posts More Split Songs

Agoraphobic Nosebleed has posted two new tracks, titled "Miscommunication" and "As Bad As It Is…", taken from the forthcoming split with Despise You online now via the Decibel Magazine blog. The split release, titled "And On And On…," will see its release on April 26th via Relapse Records.

You can check out the songs by heading to this location. The previously uploaded songs “Possession“ and “Ungrateful" are also available through the Agoraphobic Nosebleed Facebook page.

"And On And On…" features the first new recorded Despise You material in almost 10 years, with 18 punishing hardcore tracks clocking in at just under 17 minutes. The Agoraphobic Nosebleed side of the split features seven brand new tracks of ANB's always evolving grindcore.

Agoraphobic Nosebleed has posted two new tracks, titled “Possession“ and “Ungrateful,“ which are taken from the forthcoming split with Despise You online now via the band’s Facebook page. You can check out both of the songs by clicking here.

Maryland Deathfest Announces 2 Replacement Bands

Maryland Deathfest has announced Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation as replacements for Enslaved, Keep of Kalessin, and Swallow The Sun, whose North American tour together was scrapped. One more band will be announced before January 1st.

Maryland Deathfest VII will take place on May 22-24, 2009, at Sonar, Baltimore, MD. Tickets are currently on sale.
