NonZeroSum Presents is proud to announce collaborative nationwide festival events coming in January. These events will take place in Oakland, Santa Cruz, Dallas, Austin, Houston, New York City, Syracuse, Boston, and Philadelphia.

As the Los Angeles-based The Power Of The Riff fest closes in, the coordinators of the gathering have added an additional day of mayhem to the event, with a pre-party show leading off the festivities.
The new pre-party for The Power Of The Riff will take place Friday, December 16th, with three new Southern California acts confirmed for the shredding. Venice crossover icons Excel will be headlining the show, in support of the recent reissue of blazing second album, "The Joke's On You." Also added to the party are Inglewood powerviolence squad Despise You as well as local Los Angeles death-punk sect Deth Crux.
Saturday, December 17th will feature a headlining set by Cascadian black metal artisans, Wolves In The Throne Room playing Los Angeles for the first time in years, as well as long-running death metal masters Incantation, Chicago post-metal outfit Pelican, the debut performance of hardcore supergroup Bloodclot, Olympia-based punk freaks Gag, Oakland death metal warriors Necrot, and Ohio death/black/crust newcomers Crypt Rot.
Sunday, December 18th will be dominated by Neurosis making a special return to LA to headline the event. The rest of the evening sees Southern California metal/hardcore trio Nails making a first live appearance since the band went on hiatus several months ago, Bay-Area post/sludge act Kowloon Walled City, Arizona death faction Gatecreeper, Los Angeles' own hardcore-punk savages Obliterations, and Southern Lord-signed blazing hardcore outfit Lies. The lineup for this year's installment of The Power Of The Riff West -- confirmed to take place at Los Angeles' Echo/Echoplex on August 11th -- expands yet again, adding six additional bands to the already pulverizing roster. Sunn 0))), Nausea (CA), Despise You, Hoax, Bio-Crisis and Xaphan have all been confirmed to join the party, making for a lineup of twenty-two crushing sets for the day.
The finalized lineup for the all-day The Power Of The Riff West now stands as: SUNN 0))), Off!, Dr. Know, Repulsion, Noothgrusth, Xibalba, Despise You, Eagle Twin, Nausea, Power Trip, Ancestors, Alpha & Omega, Bio-Crisis, Hoax, Gaza, DNF, Retox, The Love Below, Avon Ladies, Cops, Hordes, and Xaphan. "Continuing to bring you a tradition of heavy music from slow drones to aggressive crust ridden darkness, The Power Of The Riff will burn down LA on August 11th, marking the gathering's third annual installment. Co-curated and organized by Southern Lord, TPOTR is an event that honors extreme music fans and musicians of all ages, tapping into a lineup that represents the forefathers, milestones and current national touring acts, while shedding light on up-and-coming and local acts. The all-day fest also includes a record swap-meet of local stores and pop-up stores by indie record labels, DJ sets in between band performances and a gourmet food truck court featuring Los Angeles' best purveyors of street food dining."

Agoraphobic Nosebleed has posted two new tracks, titled "Miscommunication" and "As Bad As It Is…", taken from the forthcoming split with Despise You online now via the Decibel Magazine blog. The split release, titled "And On And On…," will see its release on April 26th via Relapse Records.
"And On And On…" features the first new recorded Despise You material in almost 10 years, with 18 punishing hardcore tracks clocking in at just under 17 minutes. The Agoraphobic Nosebleed side of the split features seven brand new tracks of ANB's always evolving grindcore.
Agoraphobic Nosebleed has posted two new tracks, titled “Possession“ and “Ungrateful,“ which are taken from the forthcoming split with Despise You online now via the band’s Facebook page. You can check out both of the songs by clicking here.

Maryland Deathfest has announced Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation as replacements for Enslaved, Keep of Kalessin, and Swallow The Sun, whose North American tour together was scrapped. One more band will be announced before January 1st.
Maryland Deathfest VII will take place on May 22-24, 2009, at Sonar, Baltimore, MD. Tickets are currently on sale.
