Commented Schall and Mike Caffell (drums, vocals), of the release: “With Midnightmares, we wanted to record an album based around the concepts of night and, obviously, nightmares. We shaped our lyrics as such, and wrote music to capture both the violent, chaotic nature of dreams and the quiet tranquility of the night. We also crafted the album to flow as a whole, symbolizing the progression of an evening into night, and then into dawn; as if the songs couldn’t exist without one another. And, yes, we’re still bringing the speed and brutality.”

Los Angeles melodic death metal band Dreaming Dead has posted the following update:
"We have recently returned from our epic 6 week tour with Nile, Immolation, and Krisiun. It is difficult to put into words just how honored we are to have shared the stage with these giants of extreme metal every night."
"The tour was a great opportunity for us and provided us the best chance we have yet had to share our music with people across the nation. The tour was not without its tough moments though. For the most part we were lucky with the weather, but there were quite a few dangerous nighttime drives on snow and ice-covered roads. We also drove ourselves and therefore had many sleepless nights on our way to the next venue. But that’s rock and roll baby. We wouldn’t endure the hardships of the road if we didn’t love it." Nile’s first big US tour in support of their latest album, “Those Whom The Gods Detest,” rolled its way through Philly on January 17th. Immolation, Krisiun, and Dreaming Dead provided support, ensuring that a night of brutal death metal was on the menu. A dreary, drizzle-soaked night made for a perfect accompaniment to the reign of terror that was on display from the time the doors of the Trocadero opened to the bitter end. While the lack of Abigail Williams, who had to drop off the tour due to a band injury, was disappointing, the rest of the bands held their own and put on a show that left many necks aching from all the headbanging going on.
