Dillinger Escape Plan Names New Songs
DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN has named two tracks coming off their new album, "Option Paralysis." The song titles are "Farewell, Mona Lisa" and "Good Neighbor." THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's New album is due out on March 22nd, 2010.

"Yessir....today we're like Santa....and goodies abound. Here's a new video from about the midway point of recording Option Paralysis....week 4. Sorry we're a little late, but as you guys know, quality takes time(sometimes a lot of time!) here in the DEP camp.
"So...we started recording around September 6th...we're a month in, we have a few weeks to go. This time next month, we will have a new FINISHED RECORD in our hands. The Dillinger Escape Plan has posted a new studio recording video for their upcoming album "Option Paralysis," which can be viewed below. The band also issued the following update:
"We're three weeks deep in the recording of our new album 'Option Paralysis', so like we promised, here's a new video of some guitar tracking and other behind the scenes nonsense.

The Dillinger Escape Plan has issued the following update about their recent activity and their studio recording time:
"Not much time. Busy with this record. Fuck Yeah Fest was killer, the last two NIN shows we played were killer, our new album's gonna be killer, we're killer, you guys are killer, blah blah. The series of weekly video blogs from the studio will be coming every Monday (or Tuesday morning if it's a little late!) throughout the entire time we're in the studio.
"Ok.....we'll be back soon. The last two Limited Edition Ire Works T-Shirts(When Acting As A Wave, and Mouth Of Ghosts), as well as the Remix EP we've been working on, are forthcoming. Candiria Posts New Song Online
New York experimental metal band, Candiria, has posted a second track off the upcoming rarities and remixes collection, "Toying With the Insanities," on the their official MySpace page. The new track, “Paradigm Shift (Ignite Remix),” was remixed by Benjamin Weinman of the Dillinger Escape Plan, and will be on ‘Volume Two’ of the four-volume set, to be released with ‘Volume One’ on September 9th. "Ok....sorry for the lack of recent updates, but we've had our noses to the grind lately getting this record written, and haven't seen the light of day much. If you've been paying attention to our twitter accounts, you know that we've leaked TWO demo snippets so far. We usually demo the entire record pretty extensively before we enter the studio, so that we don't waste too time fiddling around once we get in there.
"We'll be using this myspace as well as our twitters to update you throughout the recording process, so stay tuned.
"Latest BIG news though, is that we are playing a show in Los Angeles to kick off the whole recording process. September 5th, we've been added to FYF Fest(formerly Fuck Yeah Fest!....but I guess the new abbreviation now makes it...Fuck Yeah Fest...Fest?). Get PSYCHED if you live around here. This means that for the first time in a long time...DEP and CONVERGE are gonna be playing together!!!! Other killer bands playing include Torche, Lightning Bolt, Fucked Up, and more. Don't miss out. It's only a $20 ticket, at the Los Angeles State Park in Downtown LA, and it's for a good cause! The fest aims to raise awareness of the possible closure of up to 100 State Parks due to recent California budget cuts. Dillinger Escape Plan Discusses European Tour
Back from a two-week European tour, DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN look back on the gigs with the following comments:
"We just wrapped up a quick two weeks of European shows, starting in Long Island and finishing up in Finland.", singer Greg Puciato starts. "Every show was invigorating for us, including a lot of places we haven't played in a really long time. Our producer Steve Evetts had a revelation and decided that he will no longer be producing records but would rather come with us and do lights for free, so if anyone wants a free light guy he's your guy! In typical light guy fashion, the quality of the shows quickly became measured by "how killer the lights were" that night. When we go in to the studio in a month Steve will probably have strobe lights and a smoke machine in the vocal booth. Anyhow, we played with a ton of great bands over in Europe, in a ton of unsuspecting places that kick hordes of ass like Poland and Belgium. What did we learn? We learned that Alex Skolnick from Testament pretty much drives the school bus of metal guitar soloing...blindfolded, and with his feet. We learned that 99% of Europeans have never seen a Mexican. We learned that German bus drivers think it's ok to drink beer and drive because they are 'rock and rollers!' We have a month and a few days to finish writing our new album, 'Option Paralysis,' before we record from the end of August to the beginning of October. We'll be checking in from our Myspace and Twitter accounts and all that stuff, and we'll be sneaking you song titles and snippets of demos as well as behind the scenes videos from now until the release." Dillinger Escape Plan front man Greg Puciato has issued the following band update / political commentary:
"Ok so sitting backstage at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago, about to eat some dinner, figured I'd check in with you guys. First off, thanks to everyone who has come out so far...to Long Island, to Philadelphia, to DC, to Raleigh, to Bonnaroo, to Pontiac. These shows have been amazing and very invigorating for us as a band. Every one of these shows has been shockingly high energy, and the vibe between us and you guys has never been higher. Last night alone, when within seconds the stage barricade was pushed over and eventually taken out, fuuuuuck. There are people coming who have seen us 50 times, 20 times, 7 times, and many people who are just seeing us for the first time. All coming separately, but all leaving as one big sweaty blob ready to tell posers everywhere to SUCK IT. More...
Dillinger Escape Plan Signs To Season Of Mist
Dillinger Escape Plan has announced that they have terminated their contract with Relapse Records and will now be working on the Season Of Mist label instead. A statement from guitarist Ben Weinman reads:
"It is becoming clear that as the music industry standard continues to morph and change on a daily basis, artistic and operational freedom has become a band’s most valuable asset. 100% free of all previous contractual ties, Dillinger is in an amazing position to collaborate with some interesting partners which will continue to nurture the ethic that we have been doing our best to stay true to for over 10 years now. While touring Europe in support of our record, Ire Works, I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Berberian, distributor and owner of the independent record label Season of Mist. It quickly became clear that we had very similar ideas about Dillinger’s music and its place in the underground. Season of Mist has always been a leader in releasing some of the most extreme and interesting metal and experimental music. We look forward to releasing our next full length effort in association with Season of Mist as the very first chapter of this new journey. Also, Michael’s last name almost spells out Barbarian which Greg was really excited about."

"I just read a new gallop poll, dated two days ago, that said “the majority of Americans (53%) approve of the U.S. government’s expansion to help fix the current economic crisis, but most of this group would like to see the government’s role reduced once the crisis is over”. I hope if you are reading this and you are one of the 53% you PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS, because...NEWS FLASH...in case you haven't noticed.....it's not really a habit of government to EVER get smaller once it's allowed to get bigger. DEP Guitarist Speaks About New Album Material
Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman recently spoke with Spiritech of PyroMusic.net to discuss a variety of subjects. During the interview, the subject of a new album came up. You can check out an excerpt below.
Spiritech: Indeed. Have you begun writing material for the next album yet, and if so, how is it shaping up?
Ben Weinman: "Yes I have a lot of music in the works. Most of it is pretty aggressive but who knows how it will end up."

"Now, for something that you deffffinitely haven't seen in a reaallllllly long time.... we are playing....on February 8th......in New Jersey.....IN A BASEMENT. That's right. We're playing a fucking BASEMENT SHOW. The location of which is going to be completely secret until a few days beforehand, when we'll announce the location. Maybe we'll announce it here, maybe we'll announce it on our messageboard, maybe it'll be spraypainted on an overpass on the NJ Turnpike, maybe Asian Steve will run naked across the field at Super Bowl halftime with a flag bearing the address, who knows.
