The Dillinger Escape Plan has posted two short teaser clips for their upcoming album, which can be viewed below. The band has also issued the following recording update:

"Ok....sorry for the lack of recent updates, but we've had our noses to the grind lately getting this record written, and haven't seen the light of day much. If you've been paying attention to our twitter accounts, you know that we've leaked TWO demo snippets so far. We usually demo the entire record pretty extensively before we enter the studio, so that we don't waste too time fiddling around once we get in there.

"We'll be using this myspace as well as our twitters to update you throughout the recording process, so stay tuned.

"Latest BIG news though, is that we are playing a show in Los Angeles to kick off the whole recording process. September 5th, we've been added to FYF Fest(formerly Fuck Yeah Fest!....but I guess the new abbreviation now makes it...Fuck Yeah Fest...Fest?). Get PSYCHED if you live around here. This means that for the first time in a long time...DEP and CONVERGE are gonna be playing together!!!! Other killer bands playing include Torche, Lightning Bolt, Fucked Up, and more. Don't miss out. It's only a $20 ticket, at the Los Angeles State Park in Downtown LA, and it's for a good cause! The fest aims to raise awareness of the possible closure of up to 100 State Parks due to recent California budget cuts. It's gonna be nice to play and have fun before the pure torture of recording starts.

"Check out the full lineup and details here.

"We start recording FOR REAL on September 7th. Oh yeah...those demo snippets....that's Billy playing drums, not a drum machine as some have speculated. Get ready. We've got a bunch of songs that are gonna be more than enough for you all to chew on for a while.

"I feel like I'm missing something. I probably am and it's probably because I've been listening to these insane songs and parts on a loop for months now and its basically starting to feel like I'm being dropped down a long flight of steep stairs over and over again. I'm telling you...every time we make a record, I think we all go gradually more and more insane from it, and we haven't even started real recording yet. We wrap on October 30th...hopefully we won't all need lobotomies by then. Why do you think we go through members so fast?

"I can't believe that we start actual tracking in less than two weeks! This time two years ago we were mixing Ire Works. Time flies, and things are way different than they were back then. Two years is a relatively short period of time, but things were literally on the brink of destruction at that time and now they are stronger than ever. Crazy. Wait 'til you hear what we've got for you now. The vibe when we recorded Ire Works was defined by a feeling of struggle and hope and just staying alive in the face of almost falling apart, feeling triumphant in making it through the previous couple of years, and now the vibe is ‘ok now we're just gonna fuck everyone up.’ As always, we love you guys for being here through it all, through our evolution over the last decade, and we look forward to and get off on interacting with all of you in every way. The Dillinger Escape Plan is like a living entity to us, a cell of sorts, of which you are all a part. We're psyched to bring in 2010 and the next decade of our existence with a total motherfucker of a record.

"‘Option Paralysis’ release date is coming soon. See some of you soon in LA, I'll update this again the day before we start recording, and then you guys can follow along on here, twitter, youtube, whatever."

That second one sounds pretty crazy. I'm looking forward to this album.
