Nick Barker To Join Exodus For European Tour
Legendary metal drummer Nick Barker will be filling in for Exodus drummer Tom Hunting on the bands upcoming European tour. A posting from Exodus guitarist Gary Holt reads as follows:
"First, here’s hoping everybody has an excellent holiday weekend and a safe New Year. Whatever makes you happy, enjoy it! We’re getting excited for next year, as it should prove to be most awesome all the way around.
"Have no fear, Tom will be back - a bit more tanned I’m sure - and then we will be off and running with Kreator for two months in the U.S. and Canada. See you all soon.
"Then on February 18th, we’re off to Europe for a co-headlining tour with our good old friends in Overkill, capped off with our return to Greece (finally!). For this Overkill tour, we will be without the services of [drummer] Mr. Tom Hunting, as he had a well-planned in advance, paid for, and non-refundable vacation to México that has been in the works since last April-May. He will take many pictures of paradise for all to see! So while he will be sipping a drink on a sunny beach, we will be in a stinky, beer-and-piss-soaked club. Exactly where I want to be!
So on this European tour, I would like to welcome our good friend Mr. Nick Barker (ex-Cradle of Filth, ex-Testament, ex-Dimmu Borgir), who will be holding down the drum throne! Nick is one of the baddest dudes to ever hit things with sticks, so we’re happy as hell he agreed to join this lunatic parade for a short while! There will be many bottles of Old Number [Seagram's] 7 vanishing down our guts for sure!"

Exodus Guitarist Gary Holt Slams Rick Rubin
Exodus guitarist Gary Holt recently took part in the "Call & Response" section of Decibel magazine where artists give their opinions on songs from heavy metal artists and beyond. When faced with "My Apocalypse" by Metallica, here's what he had to say:
"There are some killer riffs on this one; nice to hear them rediscover that tempos can be fast sometimes. Much better than any of the last three (albums) for sure. But Rick Rubin is a monumental hack. He has killed the production of the record for me. I was really expecting James to throw down the "...And Justice For All" crunch, totally crushing guitars, but these are not heavy at all. If all they were looking for in a producer was 'guidance,' I would have told them all they need to know for dinner and a beer: 'Go back, listen to your legendary records, listen to your Diamond Head records and then gather in a room together and make a metal record.' I would have given them this advice for free- much cheaper than Rubin! But it's growing on me. I still dig it, just not the sound of it. Andy Sneap would have made this a monster. And thank Satan Kirk is soloing again! The world needs him to shred!"

Exodus Posts Re-Recorded Songs Online
Exodus has posted the re-recorded versions of "Metal Command" and "A Lesson In Violence" online at their official Myspace. The songs come from the bands new album "Let There Be Blood" which is a re-recording of the bands classic 1985 debut album, "Bonded By Blood." The album will be released on October 28th.
In addition Gary Holt, founding member and guitarist, has released a comment on recording "Hell's Breath," a rare track from the band's 1980's demo. "Hell's Breath" will be a bonus track included on the Let There Be Blood release: "When Tom and I finished the drum tracks for Let There Be Blood, we had a half a day of studio time left, we tried to come up with something to record with the spare time we had. One thing led to another, and next thing you know I started playing the opening riff to "Hell's Breath", which is when we both said "Hell Yeah!" Funny thing is, neither of us had played the song for two-plus decades, so we were going by memory on the exact arrangement of the song. It wasn't until I started deciphering my old lyrics from some live MP3's that a friend had sent me, that I realized we had gotten the original solo section wrong! Just slightly different, but overall, this one came out so killer, almost makes me want to track some more of those old classics!"
Exodus To Perform Entire "Bonded By Blood" Album
Bay Area thrash metal legends Exodus will be performing a very special show in Seattle, Washington on November 12th at El Corazon, whereby they will perform their classic debut album, "Bonded By Blood" in it's entirety. No details have been given yet whether this will be a one off setlist or if the band plans on doing this on all forthcoming tour dates to promote the bands new offering, "Let There Be Blood" which is a re-recording of the classic "Bonded By Blood."

Exodus Guitarist Takes Shots At Sarah Palin
Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has submitted the following blog regarding vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin:
"I hate politicians — all of them. The very nature of their job is to serve the few who spend the most. But the hypocrisy hit an all time high during Sarah Palin’s speech at the Republican convention and the subsequent defense of her ongoing problems at home.
"The 'Family Values' party attacks the media for coverage of her and her family, yet they have no problem parading her knocked-up daughter out there for millions to see as some warped example of Family Values. Am I to believe a pregnant 17 year old girl forced into a sham shotgun wedding to a self proclaimed 'f—ing redneck' is some shining example of 'family values?' Get real, and while you’re at it, get some condoms. More...

Exodus Vocalist Rob Dukes Checks In
Exodus vocalist Rob Dukes has checked in from Europe with the following message:
"Wacken 2008... I came from behind the curtain to see before me 75,000 people with their hands in the air. And screaming. It was fucking surreal. I was overwhelmed by the whole experience. Honestly, I don't remember much of anything in particular except seeing 5 to 10,000 people going into the pit and killing each other almost made me forget to sing; it was crazy.
"Three years ago I was just a guitar tech, not even trying to be in a band. I was happy surfing and just living. Now my life is just crazy, making records and touring the world and getting to play shows like Wacken. I truly am grateful for that has befallen on me, good and bad.
"I'm in Spain right now playing a festival with OVERKILL and CRADLE OF FILTH and looking forward to killing this crowd tonight. I just spent two days on the beach in Spain and I feel completely rejuvenated.
"Thanks to all the fans that make all the noise and a special thanks to all the crazy fuckers in the pits around the world."
