ASG Announces U.S. Tour Dates

ASG and Weedeater have announced a four-week tour across the United States, kicking off on June 27th in Savannah, GA at The Jinx.

The tour comes as ASG celebrate its highest charting and most critically acclaimed album to date, the breakthrough release "Blood Drive." The twelve-song collection landed at #15 on Billboard’s Heat Seeker chart and also had impressive debuts on the trade magazine’s Hard Music (#32) and Indie (#67) charts. ASG Streaming Full New Album

North Carolina quartet ASG will release "Blood Drive," the band's first new album in nearly six years, on May 28th, 2013. The band is now streaming the 12-song release via Pitchfork Advance. Give the full album a listen at this location.

ASG was just added to Scion’s Rock Fest on June 1st in Memphis and will also play the Hopscotch Festival in Raleigh in early September. ASG plays a hometown, record release show on Friday at The Soapbox in Wilmington, N.C.

ASG Reveals New Album Artwork, Track Listing

ASG, the North Carolina quartet whose music Revolver described as a “compelling mix of sludge, skatepunk and ‘90s alt-metal,” has shared the cover art and track listing from forthcoming full-length "Blood Drive." The album is due out May 28th, 2013 via Relapse Records.

“Days Work,” a new song from the 12-track release, which was produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Fu Manchu), is previewed in an album trailer now available at this location. Pre-orders for the CD/2xLP/Digital are available now via Relapse here.

The cover art was created by Malleus, an Italian trio which has created artwork for The Flaming Lips, High On Fire, Swans, and Ufomammut. The "Blood Drive" track listing is as follows:

ASG Posts Preview Clip Of New LP "Blood Drive"

North Carolina stoner/doom act ASG posted a preview clip for the upcoming "Blood Drive" LP, the band's fifth studio effort, which features the new track "Day's Work." The album drops on May 28, 2013 (North America), May 27, 2013 (UK/World) and May 24, 2013 (Germany, Benelux, Finland) via Relapse Records.

Relapse Records Announces SXSW Showcase

Relapse Records has teamed up with Austin, TX’s music festival, Chaos in Tejas, to put together an unforgettable night of auditory madness at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, TX.

The official showcase will feature a stage curated by each group and will take place at Red 7 on Saturday March 16th from 8 PM to 2 AM. The showcase will be free to all SXSW badge and wristband holders and open to the general public on a first come first serve basis. Further details on the showcase will be available via the Red 7 website shortly at this location.

The Relapse Records stage will be headlined by Savannah, GA’s sludge-rock warriors Black Tusk and feature sets from Relapse label-mates Royal Thunder, ASG, Howl, Inter Arma, and Call of the Void.

The Chaos In Tejas stage will be headlined by New Orleans bounce superstar Big Freedia and include performances from a diverse lineup including Antwon, Iron Lung, Power Trip, Merchandise, Parquet Courts and the Novice.

ASG Reveals "Blood Drive" Release

North Carolina's ASG has set a May 28th release date for "Blood Drive," the band's Relapse Records debut.

"Blood Drive" was produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Fu Manchu) in the Fall of 2012. "Days Work," a new song from the album, was released as a split 7" with Red Fang on Tuesday. The new album will be available on CD/2xLP/Digital.

The band is also kicking off a new round of tour dates, including a stop at SXSW, with a Wrightsville Beach performance this evening at Red Dog's.

ASG Announces New Album Title

ASG, the psych-rock quartet from North Carolina, has named the band's Relapse Records debut "Blood Drive."

The album, which was produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet) at Sunset Lodge in Los Angeles during the fall, is due out this Spring with an exact date to be announced soon. "Days Work," a new song from Blood Drive, will be available as a limited edition split 7" with label mates Red Fang via Relapse on February 19th (pre-order here).

ASG hit the road this weekend, kicking off a brief Southeastern tour on January 25 at The Soapbox in Wilmington, N.C. The band will be at SXSW with more details to follow.

Royal Thunder Announces Fall North American Dates

Royal Thunder announced a string of fall tour dates in October/early November as well as November dates direct support of ASG and Corrosion of Conformity. The band released its debut album "CVI" in May through Relapse Records. A preview clip for the tour can also be seen below. The tour starts at Ottobar in Baltimore on October 19, 2012.

ASG Enters The Recording Studio

North Carolina psychedelic stoner punks ASG have entered the studio to begin recording their Relapse debut and first album in six years. The band’s 5th full-length is being recorded with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet) at the Sunset Lodge in Hollywood, CA.

The band commented on the new record which is planned for an early 2013 release via Relapse Records: “We are very proud of the new material, we feel that we have tested some new sonic grounds in terms of our sound, and we can't wait for people to hear it!”

Relapse Records also commented: "Impossible to pigeonhole, ASG has been wheelin’ and dealin’ in kick-ass rock n’ roll since forming in 2001. The band has previously released four albums with including their most recent, critically acclaimed effort Win Us Over in 2007. ASG has gained a reputation for their wildly energetic live shows, and has found themselves on the road with heavy-hitters Motorhead, The Sword, CKY, Fu Manchu, Torche and The Dwarves among others."

ASG Announces European Tour Dates

North Carolina’s kings of gnarl, ASG, have announced a run of European tour dates including an appearance at this year’s Hellfest.

The tour kicks off on June 16th in Clisson, France and runs through June 30th in Stuttgart, Germany. A full listing of dates is listed below, including a special show in Germany with Kyuss Lives.

Frontman Jason Shi commented on the upcoming tour: “Its nice to be crossing the pond once again, head banging in the old world, seeing old friends and making new ones. Let's party!”

ASG To Enter The Studio

North Carolina’s gnarliest band, ASG has announced a two week run of east coast dates with label-mates Cough and stoner metallers Weedeater. The tour kicks off on April 12th in Charleston, South Carolina and runs up and down the east coast before ending in Durham, North Carolina on April 28th. A full listing of dates is included below.

Weedeater Announces New Tour Dates

After a few weeks off, following nearly three years of semi-constant touring, Cape Fear's sludge-slingers Weedeater decided they have been off the road long enough, and that it's time to go reap some more hard-partying souls.

Set for the band to celebrate 4:20 on the road mid-tour, the newest endeavor will burn its way through a pile of East U.S. cities in the second half of April, from New England to the tip of Florida. Weedeater has commissioned ASG and Cough to be the pummeling backup for the entire tour, with sixteen dates locked-down and more likely to be confirmed in the weeks ahead. ASG Signs With Relapse Records

North Carolina stoner act ASG has signed with Relapse Records. The band plans to enter the studio in February 2012 to record the Relapse debut and the band's fifth LP with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Children of Bodom). The album will be the follow up to the band's 2007 album "Win Us Over." More details on the new album are expected soon.

ASG Guitarist/Vocalist Jason Shi commented on the signing: “To be part of such a well respected music label like Relapse and to be included in their roster of bands both past and present is quite an honor for us. We plan to record our first release on Relapse in the winter of 2012 with Matt Hyde and are very excited for everyone to hear it! We are amping!"

Additionally, the band has confirmed a string of Southern U.S. Dates in January plus a special appearance at next year’s Hellfest in France. A complete list of tour dates are included below.
