Weapons Of Anew Gearing Up For Tour
Weapons of Anew will make its live debut touring with Alter Bridge and special guest Nonpoint during "The Last Hero" tour from January 24th through February 14th, 2017.
Upon confirmation of the tour, Weapon's of Anew guitarist Freddy Ordine said, "It's truly an honor! I'm excited for guitarists that are into this type of music. It's really going to be a shred fest - all the band's have really great players in them."
"As a singer," Ray West stated, "I think that Myles Kennedy and Elias Soriano are both at the top of their game, so I have great respect for both bands. It's safe to say the bar is set very high for us and I live for that! I consider playing a live show with both bands a privilege."
When asked what it means to perform live, Ordine states, "Pure energy!!! It's better than any other feeling I know." West puts it this way, "an intense energy that compares to nothing else!"
Late last year, Weapons of Anew released debut single and video "Killshot" via OK!Good Records. The band members are psyched to have people hear Weapons of Anew music, with West further commenting "We are a solid unit, packed into a big ole can of whoop ass!" More...

Chicago Open Air Day Two
I knew going into Saturday that it'd be in the most incongruous day of the festival since Disturbed were supported on their own tour by a number of hard rock acts which made the overall festival feel a bit disjointed. The heaviest acts on the tour were playing on the second stage while the radio rock acts tackled the main stage. The best way to describe it would be ADHD comorbid with DID.
One of the best parts of Chicago Open Air is that it's actually a place where I could wear arctic camo shorts and not look get weird looks from people. Granted, there are probably some other places. For instance, if I was ever tempted to go hunting in the jungles of Alaska or the frozen tundra of Florida, I'd break them out again. But for the most part, I was never going to wear them anywhere else. More...

Hole has pulled out of the festival after frontwoman Courtney Love refused to play before Limp Bizkit. Soundwave boss AJ Maddah said on Twitter that he was "relieved we got the moody old cow off the bill. [There’s] no point talking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up & act like a rotten twat to other artists, fans, etc."
A third announcement in early December will add another five bands to the lineup, and Danzig is one of the confirmed possibilities. More...

Zeppelin Members To Tour With Alter Bridge Singer?
Blabbermouth.net reports: TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider, whose manager apparently also works with Robert Plant, has told MuchMoreMusic's Matt Wells that LED ZEPPELIN members Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonhman have tapped ALTER BRIDGE singer Myles R. Kennedy to sing with them on the road tour if Plant refuses to join them for the much-rumored ZEPPELIN reunion tour. "They're saying [to Robert], 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go, here's a gazillion dollars on the table," Snider told MuchMoreMusic. "If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid. And he can sing the shit out of ZEPPELIN.' And they're gonna, like, hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in, before having the lead singer of ALTER BRIDGE out with John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Jason Bonham."
A short video clip of Snider talking to MuchMoreMusic about the possibility of Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonhman touring with ALTER BRIDGE singer Myles R. Kennedy can be found at this location.
Plant recently shot down reports that he has signed on to team up with LED ZEPPELIN for a reunion tour. In a message posted on his web site, the singer said that he had no road plans after his recent tour with Alison Krauss, which wrapped on October 5 in Saratoga, Florida.
The message read in part: "Robert has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years. Contrary to a spate of recent reports, Robert Plant will not be touring or recording with LED ZEPPELIN. Anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets."
Plant himself was quoted as saying, "It's both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward. I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects."
Page, Jones and Bonham have reportedly been rehearsing with a series of other vocalists, including Kennedy. There has been no official announcement as to whether the band is planning to tour or record together without Plant's involvement.

Drowning Pool Singer Slams Papa Roach
Drowning Pool vocalist Ryan McCombs has posted two blogs recently regarding a show the band performed with Papa Roach, Alter Bridge and Rev Theory. Check them out below:
"The powers that be have been after me for some time to write another blog. Hell, at one point it was even suggested that I try to start some controversy with some other acts. You know the old 'no such thing as bad press' BS. It was suggested that I take a shot at Kid Rock one time. WHAT??? Here's a dude that marches the same path we do supporting our troops. Yeah, right, I'll get right on that.
"Actually, I will, but not at Kid Rock. Hell, I respect the guy — why would I do that?! I need a reason to be a prick. Anyone out there that knows me knows that much. So let me get to it. Let me make everyone happy.
"I'm sitting here in Mt. Clemens, Michigan at a radio show for WRIF, a bad-ass station up here in these parts. On the bill tonight was four bands that led us to look forward to this show tonight. REV THEORY, who we've been on the road with for a few shows here the past couple of weeks. ALTER BRIDGE, who I have no idea about, and PAPA ROACH, who happens to be 10th Street (our management) family of ours. Family, my ass. More...
Stream ALTER BRIDGE's Philly Performance Online
ALTER BRIDGE will stream its performance at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday, October 21. 93.3 WMMR will broadcast the entire show live as it happens at WMMR.com.
ALTER BRIDGE's sophomore effort, "Blackbird", sold 47,000 copies to debut at No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart.
ALTER BRIDGE guitarist Mark Tremonti said that while the chart numbers are significant, the band tries not to obsess about them. "Yeah, I mean, first-week sales are an important thing 'cause it is a business and you have to sell CDs to kind of stay out there, and we just want to be able to tour as long as we want — as long as we can," he said. "So the more people that are buying CDs, the longer we can do this. But we don't sit and constantly look at charts. I think people around us usually kind of, we overhear them talking about it."
ALTER BRIDGE is currently on the road with ANOTHER ANIMAL and plays Friday (October 19) in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.
Alter Bridge Release Two New Songs Online
ALTER BRIDGE has posted two songs from its second album, titled "Blackbird", on its MySpace page. Check out the tracks "Rise Today" and "Ties that Bind" at this location.
ALTER BRIDGE will release "Blackbird", on October 9 through Universal Republic Records. "Blackbird" will follow up the band's 2004 debut, "One Day Remains", which came out on Wind-Up Records.
The album's title track is an eight-minute song that singer Myles Kennedy said was inspired by a friend who passed away as the tune was completed. Kennedy explained, "It's a story about the struggle to move on to a better place. It was my wish for him to finally find his peace."
