As I Lay Dying Debut 2nd Comeback Single & Video

A second song from the current incarnation of As I Lay Dying has made its way online. Titled “If I Fall,” the track arrives on the heels of last month’s “Echoes,” which marked the beginning of this new phase for the long-running metalcore group. Notably, the video for the new single is premiering in collaboration with Napalm Records.
The below music video will go live today, at 1 pm (EST):
The band’s latest overhaul came late last year, when fresh controversy surrounding vocalist Tim Lambesis led to yet another dissolution of the lineup — this time leaving Lambesis as the only remaining member. Since then, an entirely new cast of musicians has been assembled around him. The current lineup of the often-debated outfit consists of: More...
As I Lay Dying Premiere New Single & Music Video

As I Lay Dying have officially entered a new era with the release of their comeback single, “Echoes.” The track arrives in the wake of yet another turbulent chapter for the Californian metalcore outfit — and particularly for their controversial frontman, Tim Lambesis.
Last November saw the band’s lineup collapse for a second time, with former members citing Lambesis’ behavior as the catalyst behind their departure. Undeterred by the allegations and upheaval, Lambesis pledged to rebuild As I Lay Dying once again, with “Echoes” serving as the first glimpse of that renewed effort. This single arrives independently via the band, emerging a few weeks ahead of their live return, which will commence towards the end of this month in Moscow, Russia.
According to the songwriting credits, the latest roster of musicians who joined Lambesis in the studio to bring this song to life includes: More...

Former Nile Bassist Joseph Payne Passes Away
Former Nile and Divine Heresy bassist Joseph Payne has passed away at the age of 35. His former Divine Heresy bandmate Dino Cazares confirmed the reports in a post on social media yesterday. A statement from Cazares reads as follows:
"Our metal brother Joseph Payne has passed away. Another one gone way to young. I wasn't going to say anything until I got confirmation from his family, which I now did. At this time no cause of death has been revealed.
"Joe was a great friend, a great band member and an incredible musician. Although he played bass in ?Divine Heresy?, he was an incredible guitarist. I first saw him playing bass in Nile and right then and there, I said, 'I want that guy in my band.' After having that first conversation that night, I realized he was a great dude and from there on, we've shared some amazing moments in life and on tour, from Australia to South America to Canada to Mexico to Europe, etc.
"Joe was a very outgoing funny guy with a very friendly personality. He was loved by many and he loved all his fans and road friends. He never complained when times got tough on the road. He always helped everyone and worked his ass off when he was in DH and I admired him for being that way.
"We love you and we will miss you. Rest In Peace, my friend." More...

I am excited to pull double duty for the first time and I am relieved that we could finally make this happen. Fear Factory Upates Tour Schedule
Candlelight Records today confirms three more in-store/meet-and-greets as part of Fear Factory's ongoing Fear Campaign American Tour 2010. All four members of the band will be available to meet with fans at Magnolia Thunderpussy in Columbus, Ohio on May 30, Digital Ferret Records in Philadelphia on June 6, and Vintage Vinyl Records in Fords, New Jersey on June 10.
Fear Factory, currently on tour supporting their latest album "Mechanize," had a brief scare earlier this week when their tour bus nearly went off road while in route to Boise, Idaho. Luckily no one was injured and the band made their show at Knitting Factory Concert House without much delay. Guitarist Dino Cazares says, “We were on our way to Boise for a day off when about 8:45am our bus driver fell asleep at the wheel. He swerved to the opposite side of the road. Most of us woke up when we felt the bus on the rumble strips and then the dirt. He woke up in time to swerve back onto our side of the road and pull over.” Continuing he notes, “thank god there was no on coming cars or 18-wheelers on the road. Everyone is fine just a little nervous.”
