"I am very honored to have peta2 premiere our video. Since PETA fights for a lot of the same things I do in my songs, it's great to be able to partner up again. I look forward to working with them on future campaigns as well. They are perceived as a daring organization that pushes the boundaries in order to expose what people normally turn a blind eye to. We have noticed that a lot of our fans are extremely intelligent, interesting people so we think they will be excited about this video debut as well." More...

The Agonist Comments On Album Availability
Canada's The Agonist has issued the following statement about the availability of their new album:
"Hey!
"Many people have been writing in saying they can't seem to find our album in stores! That isn't fair to you or us. So, the best way to solve this is feedback! No matter where in the world you are, if you are having trouble tracking down our albums, here's what to do:
"1- Tell the record store you want The Agonist and ask them to stock up. 2- Respond to this blog with the name and location of the store that isn't carrying the albums. 3- Spread the word to your friends - the more people that buy our album in your city, the more chance we have of getting to stop there on tour! We want to meet you!
"Of course you can always buy our album from right HERE on our myspace, but it's a little more personal to buy it, autographed, directly from us when we play a show, right?
"We will do our best to get the album out there and come play your town, but we do need your help, so let's make it happen!
"Thanks!"

Atheist Announces US Tour Dates
Florida technical metal band, ATHEIST will be touring North American this July with THE FACELESS, Psyopus, The Agonist, and Gnostic. GNOSTIC, is a band made up of 3/4 of ATHEIST’s members. Atheist and Gnostic drummer Steve Flynn comments on the tour:
"We're absolutely thrilled to be doing this tour with such an incredible lineup of brutal technical bands. This bill is going to just peel your face off. Not only are all the bands insanely technical and heavy, but the lineup also covers a broad spectrum of style - from the almost avant-garde sound of PSYOPUS to the straight up technical death metal sounds of GNOSTIC and ATHEIST. Then you throw in the more modern break-neck technicality, unrivaled musicianship and speed of THE FACELESS, and the brutality of THE AGONIST, and you've got yourself one hell of a night. This will also be somewhat experimental in the world of technical death metal, as 3 of us (me on drums, Chris Baker on Guitars, and Jonathan Thompson on bass (in GNOSTIC) and guitars (in ATHEIST)) are in two bands and playing TWO shows per night. I can't recall a similar situation in technical death metal. It will be a marathon-esque physical and mental exercise. This tour will also be GNOSTIC's debut to the world as we're supporting our first release via Season of Mist: 'Engineering the Rule' in July." More...

It’s unbelievable that we will be playing on the same stage as a band that we would listen to in our bedrooms in high school and wished we could emulate. We are also extremely anxious to get back on the road in general and we are playing a lot of the same venues we have in the past so we hope to see some familiar faces out there! The Agonist Posts Two New Songs Online
Canada’s female fronted band THE AGONIST strikes back with their second full length, "Lullabies For The Dormant Mind." As a first impression of this effort, the two brand-new tracks “The Tempest (The Siren's Song; The Banshee's Cry)” and “Martyr Art” have been posted at the band’s freshly redesigned Myspace site.
The quintet, born in 2004, covers a wide range of styles from classical to black metal. Their debut album, “Once Only Imagined” (2007), caught the eyes and ears of many musicians and music fans alike, and their sophomore album, “Lullabies for the Dormant Mind,” set to be released on February 23, 2009 (Europe) and March 10, 2009 (USA), will once again prove the diverse talents of these young musicians. The a cappella version of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake is only one example of the band’s musical abilities as it exhibits Alissa’s wide range of vocal skills and professionalism as a singer.
Produced by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Mythosis), "Lullabies for the Dormant Mind" exposes new facets of the band and touches upon classical, jazz, opera, grindcore, thrash and black metal influences in a complete metal opus.
Century Media Celebrates 20th Anniversary
2008 has become an extremely exciting year in the history of Century Media Records, one of the world's most respected independent homes for heavy music, as the label is celebrating its 20th anniversary!
The company's Anniversary year started off with an extremely successful, first-ever yard sale/party at the Century Media office in Dortmund (Germany) in June, where several hundred guests partied out on exclusive live shows by Angel Dust and Turisas. A video with impressions from the event can be seen at this location. A photo gallery for this event can be viewed here.
To further celebrate this anniversary Century Media Records will release the very special 2CD compilation "Covering 20 Years Of Extremes" on September 15th in Europe and on October 14th in North America. The various artists covers-release includes 32 mostly exclusive recordings and will be available in stores for the price of one CD. Sticking to the "keep it in the family" slogan, CM approached their artists about covering songs from other acts within the label's repertoire and the response from the musicians was overwhelming.
Some choices were obvious and homages to the bands that influenced them, others were inspired picks. This combination ended up leading to a heavily entertaining and truly special final result across all sub-genres of heavy music.

"However, my next endeavor is 3 Mile Scream's East Coast Massacre tour which will bring us back to the Maritimes for a much more complete and extensive run than our last tour.
